I completed a 5 day
Water Fast on saturday with no prior knowledge of the benefits of fasting or the refeeding process. I simply wanted to see if I had the willpower to accomplish such a task. Unfortunately, due to my ignorance on the matter, upon breaking my fast i immediately resumed my normal eating habits which I admit are less than ideal (Lots of Meat, fatty foods, etc).
Now I am experiencing severe stomach cramping and diarrhea and feel that my body isn't processing foods correctly. I have read many guidelines to refeeding since then. Is it too late to begin one of these programs? (I've been eating normally for about 3 days) How long before I can expect my body to become reaccustomed to eating regular foods?
I'd also appreciate any advice on how I might expedite the process as I have an important business trip on Friday and would like to be "well" by then. Any advice you have would be great appreciated.
