I had the same thought. I doubt that a tablespoon or two of Blackstrap would harm anyone, unless they already had a problem with excess iron buildup. However, there are too many people who seem to think if a tablespoon is good, then ten will be great. Those who want to take an alkalizing drink can use sorghum instead of Blackstrap, it is rich in calcium and iron, but not as much as the molasses. The real key is to not overdo anything, and take both cleansing and rebuilding slow enough not to overly stress the body. For those who do not want to use Blackstrap molasses at all, I have had wonderful results increasing my alkalinity by using a green drink (Green Max by Swanson)with a teaspoon of sorghum and some ACV.
