Hi - I also live in australia (qld) and have very low Vit D. Best test is the 25 (OH) Hypoxy. Even in Hawaii there are reports of low Vit D. You may just be surprised.
Now thyroid..............well if you think of thyroid hormone as engine oil and you dont have enough oil in your engine - you slow down and dont move. Until you get the right amount of engine oil for 'you' you will not feel any energy. It wont convert to the active T3 which gives to energy and lift any depression
Armour is available in australia. Contact Stenlake in sydney and they will give you the name of a doc in oz
who prescribes it in your area. Its called Natural Thyroid here. Stenlake brings in the powder and compounds it for you. I import mine from International Pharmacy USA.in its original tablet form.
is a 'symptom' of thyroid and for me that was overcome 'overnight' with Tertroxin (T3) You will know if you need this by the FreeT3 result.
Blood test results are the key to much of this. Many feel best when the TSH is 1 or under (0.3-5) and the Free T3 and FreeT4 is just above mid range. (but we are all individual)
Its the blood tests ranges that are too wide and much arguement to try and get this range reduced is falling on deaf ears. FreeT3 and FreeT4 is the available hormone in your blood and the very best blood tests to get
Being able to read your own blood test results is the best gift you can give yourself.
I also have candida which I think was the pre-cursur to the thyroid problem and Vitamin D and Adrenal fatigue. This is why I am preparing my body for the Miracle-Mineral-Supplement
protocol so that when the candida is gone I dont have too much thyroid hormone in my system.....which was being blocked by the candida....yikes dont want that
Ask for printed copies of your bloods and 'never never never' accept a 'normal' statement from any doc. I was crawling around on the floor with a CFS/Fibro diagnosis with a TSH of 4 for years and years.......Mary Shomons, about.com thyroid forum saved my life.................Endos are pretty useless concentrating on Diabetes rather than thyroid and the endocrine system. Candida is very common with thyroid ppl.
sorry to go on. You note that I do lots of para breaks cos we thyroid ppl have reading problems if its all one long paragraph.....
