Yes, I too have seen
Iodine - specifically Lugols, cited as an antidote for food poisoning. I don't remember the exact reference, but over in the original
Iodine Support forum, sometime around March 07 or so... back when I spent many nights and days reading bunches of
Lugol's literature, there had been the anecdote of a doctor who told of a story from many years back. This doctor knew a friend/man who told him about the dinner party he went to one evening. This man had taken a few drops of
Lugols in water prior to the meal. Unless I'm mistaken, he took the
Lugol's in water several hours earlier in the day...... this apparently was something the man did as part of his own personal regimen. The dinner was served buffet style that included one or fish dishes. It was later revealed that numerous people who attended that dinner had come down with food poisoning, and it was eventually tracked to spoiled fish. The doctor remembered this because his friend, who didn't know the fish was spoiled, found it tasty enough that he had returned to it for second and third helpings. This is an example of
Lugol's being used as a preventative to food poisoning, but it is also widely cited as an antidote when used after the fact.
