My toddler's gums are infected. He has rotted teeth from leaving the breast milk to pool in his mouth. I tried to get him surgery quite a while back for this but could not come up with the money needed for surgery. I had to wait til my husband's insurance opened for enrollment which took many months. Now the baby will be covered starting jan 1. Just yesterday he woke up complaining about his teeth. I looked in and his top gums are very red and he has a small abscess on his gum. I have been giving him oil of oregano on the gums and allowing him to swallow some along with vitamin C drops. The pain seems to be under control now. I need to know if there is anything else I can do until we can get him in surgery. I am so scared of him going into surgery and was hoping to avoid it. I am really terrified he will die. I know that the anesthesia is not made for little ones and that there are not studies done for the safety on babies. I read a lot about what they use and side effects can be death.
What should I do about his gums? Is this something that needs emergency attention? I know infections are dangerous. That is why I am giving him the oil of oregano. It has cured my son's strep throat (confirmed by his doctor at that time). It has cured my kidney infections and a host of other things. So I believe strongly this will work on him. I just am not a 100 percent sure of anything and am getting freaked out.
Do you know if surgery is necessary or taking him to the ER is necessary as of now since giving him the oil of oregano? Any advise is appreciated.
