yes--I'd say it lies in the realm of energy medicine. I'm curious too--esp. to hear from others with experience (long term) either as a practitioner or a 'receiver'.
For about two years I've been interested in the YM, since watching a video with Kam Yuen. Had I the funds, I would probably have gone ahead and done the training a long time ago, but figured it all added up to several thousand--and while I feel deeply blessed in so many ways, financial 'excess' is not one of them. Anyway--to make a long story short, I finally a few months back was looking around one day, to see if there was an intro session I could attend--to see the method up close; just one of those intuitive whispers--and sure enough, there was one, in my city, within days. I attended it, and by some fluke (it was an especially lovely balmy Friday in late October?) I was the only one who came! As a result, the practitioner worked on me for about an hour. I would have gladly observed her working on others, but... :-)
I was just thinking about that evening, yesterday, when I came across a list I'd written of all the things she addressed in that evening. To backtrack a bit: initially, I was feeling really good that whole day, so couldn't actually think of much that I wanted "worked on". (My interest in the method is in many ways in order to help others). We began with a minor issue with my tailbone, or so I perceived it. It's something that I'd felt was 'off' for a few years. I'd fallen, and had a sense it was 'out'. And occasionally, it would really hurt, especially after sitting at the computer...
She worked on that - it was odd, the process moves very quickly, just like in the videos, where the people generally look a bit befuddled; surprised when they are asked "how's that feeling now"? It was feeling fine--but I didn't think much had changed, since it hadn't been bothering me--of course the problem wasn't my tailbone
(as Kam Yuen often tells patients), it was actually something involving the top of my head. Made sense, somehow. Anyway, she worked on a number of things which I'll just list in point form, and throughout, we talked. I didn't "feel" too much,( which surprised me because I am very perceptive that way) but there was this odd efect:
She, or I, would bring up something--then she'd say, okay, "how's that make you feel?"
or somesuch...generally, I'd be feeling nothing--no 'charge' or 'issue', and I was thinking, maybe it's because I'd already gone to the event in my consciousness, the day before, and was sort of 'already fixed'--sounds odd, but that's how I felt that whole day--just very grateful and 'corrected'.
but anyway, while I'd be shrugging to her question of "okay, are you in touch with that?", she's then 'do' the correction, and say, how's that feel now?
Right at that moment, I would feel something like a small flare- like when you strike a match, and then just a dissolving. It was very subtle, and she seemed to be 'ahead of me' all the time.
so--do the changes 'last'? Good question:
I can see how the process -because it seems it must be a process- must be like peeling an onion: I mean, all "healing" is about taking away the excess (or the blocks or 'fog') to get to the original 'correctness', so to speak-- to use a YM word.
and surely, when one issue is 'corrected' it might lead to another showing up, sort of the way stones work in liver flushing...
But since you so synchronistically asked:
and I just reflected on this yesterday--I'd say yes...and I'm surprised (isn't it always the way) at how much was bothering me in small ways before, that I've now forgotten--now that it's not an issue. I was actually thinking of sending the practitioner a card, to thank her again--she gave me what amounted to quite a long session. I still want to do the training. Just haven't been able to, yet.
As well as YM, you might check into Bioemanative Brain Linking, (which works out to BBM, in Polish), and is very reasonably priced. Intuitively, it feels 'good'.
Here's the list of stuff she covered with me, while after a while she didn't tell me all the stuff she was correcting: As you can see, not a lot of it is "physical", and yet, physically, I feel *better*.
The tailbone/top of head issue. *no more trouble or pain
Something with the eyes--a spacey, unbalanced feel.
(this came up after working on the preceding)*I think my sight's slightly improved
Grounding me more-- and yet, fixing a feeling of being weighed down by gravity.
*I do feel less concerned with all that.
a past life spiritual issue
(this represents a lot of undoing)
An issue with the feeling that things "take too long".
correcting "the three times". (past, present and future)
intuitively, this makes sense to me. Is complex.
correction around "the carnival"
(other lives, as well as this one)
Past life experience with members of my present family.
*I definitely feel a dissolving of 'weight' there. Probably there are a few more 'layers'; it doesn't seem to matter.
A correction for being able to see creative projects through to completion
*I do notice the difference here--
A financial 'correction'.
A lymph drainage issue.
*I am sure that my body is functioning in a much more integrated way.
my digestion has improved...
A residual grief issue, from an important relationship--
(I think this dovetails with the past life 'spiritual' issue.)
*I feel able to work on deeper and deeper levels of gratefulness and forgiveness
(mainly of self, as per Ho'oponopono)
I know there was lots more. Can't recall, now.
What I most enjoyed, (and appreciated verifying) I think, is the way the work bypasses a lot of 'working through' in that laborious struggling fashion.
In essence, it is absolutely 'Light' work: it *feels* like it's all about turning 'on' switches, and it is-- or so say the videos, etc. When the energy flows, things spontaneously "correct".
PS, as well as YM, I have a strong spiritual practice, and a deep devotion to the Grace of what's come before me...Does that make a difference? I don't think it's a "prerequisite" to Yuen Methd results; in my case, I think it helped me work at a 'deeper' level, right away. As well, I've done flushing and cleansing, etc.
but I would say the Yuen Method is impressive.
whew! That's my long post of the day. I was active at curezone in the past, and almost never come here anymore--have received a lot of good here (and sorted through a mountain of info!) and hope to have passed some on, as well.
I'm glad you asked.
