Hi Solelady,
Your question: I recently had a blood test for iron levels, not stored iron though. It was high. So i don't have a problem with blood levels of iron. I'm postmenopausal also.
Too much can be dangerous!!! Is taking the blackstrap molasses going to overload me with iron?
Solelady
Answer: So, you have a blood test and it showed you had Iron ?
And they made the Claim it was High ?
High according to Who?
High according to what?
High in Relationship to what ?
It always amuses me when someone says they had a Blood Test and the Doc tells them everything is fine etc, because "WHY" did they have the Blood Test in the first place ?
Most people I know, don't go aroung letting the Doc stick needles into them just for the Fun of it, generally they are having some kind of Aches or Pains and are Suffering from something, is "WHY" they let themself be stuck with a Needle ?
So, back to this question of High Iron in comparisson to what?
A Blood Test is "NO" Better than the one who then has the job of interpeting the Results, and most Doctors etc are not able to fully relate the Test results to what problems a person is having !
And the 1st problem is that the Blood Test "Only" tells what has been, not what is immediately going on in the body !
The Blood is the Result of what the Rest of the body has been doing up to this point !
The Lymphatic Fluids may Determine what the Blood "Ends" up becomming ?
At any rate, one who has at Least a partial correct understanding of the Iron content in the Blood or body, may realize that the Iron content needs to be viewed in Relationship to the other ingredients in the system !
Ex: If one has High Nitrogen in their bodys, then they Better have High Iron content also, or they are going to have some Serious problems of a shortage of Oxygen !
So, what happens when one has a Blood Test and the one doing the testing and making the Claims as to if you have High Iron or not does not know about the relationship that Iron plays with the other Ingredients in our bodys ?
What if one is having Aches and Pains and is Greatly Suffering, yet has High Iron according to the Doc Test, but at the same time has way too much Nitrogen in their body, thus in Reality is really short of needed Iron, because of having too much Nitrogen ?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm?
So, the Doc never considered this problem???????????
And of course you never either ????????
Generally most folks do not consider this problem, but allow the Doc to be their "God" and allow them to continue to Suffer, because of the Lack of their own understandings of how the body should work !
As to the question about if one may get too much Iron by eating BSM?
In all my years, I have "Never" heard of anyone having a problem of getting too much Iron from BSM, but on the other hand have heard of a Great many Benefits of those choosing to use BSM !
Because BSM supplys many other needed Alkaline Minerals , which help Balance out the body and help keep it Healthy !
But, if one is taking Iron Sulfate by it's self, then one may be able to get too much iron in ones body and Cause problems, but one may generally see the problems comming on, because the 1st thing may be that when one takes too much Elemental Iron in relationship to other Minerals is that one may get Constipation, but this may be corrected , if one has this happen, by taking more Calcium and Epsom Salt and water?
But, by using BSM one may not have any of these problems ?
Do, "YOU" want to be Healthy ?
Has the Doctors advice over the years prevented "YOU" from getting Sick ?
Then "WHY" are you still listening to them ?

Smile Tis your choice.
