Hi, Deep Dish,
We reincarnate so that we have the experience here. Think of life here as a play and each person is a character in that play. The various parts polish our spirits so that we advance; we need to play both good and bad characters. If a part calls for one to be a murderer, then there is another part calling for a victim. Generally, victims are advanced souls willing to take on this experience for quicker advancement. So, too, with people who must live their lives under a severe handicap; their difficulty is one which advances them more quickly and it serves as a lesson for us all to be more patient and tolerant. (Katrina serves the purpose of bringing people together to love and aid their fellow man.) These things are events; it is we who attach emotion and perception to them. Keep it neutral and play the part.
I have read that the Creator is neutral -- He knows the theory, but wants the emotional experiences which we can bring back.
It is only when we are living within the play that we look around and theorize and pass judgment on the others in the play. We have necessarily lost our memories of other times when we came here because we could not continue on our journey with the various burdens from other lifetimes. That is why the journey within is so important, so that you can decide for yourself what is good and what is not. We all came from the Creator so that we could bring our experiences back to Him.
Lately, I have read a most illuminating/disturbing book which also refers to Robert Monroe's Trilogy. These authors both did a lot of astral projection and went far beyond this dimension. In doing so, they have each learned that there are both simultaneous reincarnations of thousands of souls -- each living a life at the same time, but in different locations and times on Earth. Once the final reincarnation is completed, then all of the lives go together into the Higher Self's total Earth experience and move to other dimensions. The other, sequential reincarnation, lives each life in sequence which takes much longer for the Higher Self to move on because it usually takes over a thousand lives. This is something new that I have read and I have not totally bonded with these ideas. But, anything is possible.
The Higher Self is the one who decides to return for its own advancement. The HS is not up in Heaven -- it is right with you and you are attached to it -- that is your spark of God within; that is who can guide you if you learn to hear it. Since this Earth School is such a tough place to be, the lessons are well earned. Others in the higher dimensions help the Higher Self to determine which lessons would be most appropriate and help with all of the scheduling that is involved with the many hundreds of souls that need to be part of the plan.
Each of us has lived with a particular problem which seems to recur. If that problem is not resolved, but ignored, etc., it will keep repeating, often in a more painful way, just as a little bit of stomach acid can become a full-blown stomach ulcer. Once recognized, and addressed, the problem more than likely disappears and we get to work on something else. There are no mistakes in this world. Each good or bad event was chosen by each of us so that we could learn the lesson associated with it.
The parents that we choose, whether loving or otherwise, teach us a lesson -- whether it is to be loving or to just plain survive through tough conditions so that we can be ready for a much tougher assignment. I have seen people with difficult young lives become fine, mature individuals and I see people who have had easy, loving, young lives who find themselves bewildered by their adult lives. We choose to come with a group of friends for companionship, as well as some enemies so that we can work out our difficulties.
Journey of Souls by Michael Newton is a good book; he is a psychotherapist (I believe) whose book contains interviews with six levels of souls to see what life is like after Earth -- ultimately, we should be co-creating the Universe to keep it going.
When more than two people are in a room or a situation, Power is the name of the game. He who owns the gold makes the rules. That is life. The rest of us work around that. Once we set on the spiritual journey and recognize that, then we can decide not to play the game. Detachment saves us from the emotional wrangling that takes place when we are in the game, under someone's control. It is our own decision to become emotionally detached from the situation.
When looking down at the Earth from another dimension, the Higher Selves and the others who help are only assessing the potential lessons to be learned from the particular events and activities that occur on Earth; they are not emotionally attached; they have a higher, spiritual path which they (and we) are following. It is we who live here who view those same activities and events with many and varied emotions.
I don't believe that God has said that we have to wait until 2005 before illness can be eradicated by medical science. Our bodies are self-healing machines, provided they are given the correct fuel, rest, sunshine, etc. The more influential healers all had a severe illness pattern to break -- which then lead to their helping others to heal themselves. The human being needs to get whacked by a figurative 2x4 (or bigger) to get his attention! However, these physical problems are one part of our journey here; just look at all of the people that we have each met on this forum; the thousands of people who meet on this whole site are a small part of the wave of self-sufficient health care that is occuring around the world. Changes are occurring!
We are far more powerful than we ever imagined. BUT, because we become part of various groups, the Power makes the rules and we follow the rules. This is why reincarnation was removed from the Bible; the Church would have no power over its 'sheep' if they knew that they had many chances! Once on the spiritual path, however, one becomes more aware of one's own actions and their effects upon another person.
Negative emotions do harm to the person experiencing them; they do no harm to someone else, so stop being negative. Positive emotions uplift the person feeling them, so be positive.
Kindest thoughts.
