I actually have been taking about 8 at night and about 3 more during the day to ensure that I have at least 2-3 BM. The instructions do say that they can be taken during the day if you want to ensure you have enough BM. Last night I took 8 and this morning has a huge BM. I hope to have another BM before the day so I took 2 more. Also the instructions say one can take an enema but I'm not really into the enema thing so I guess it would be your choice:)
