I thought I would add a quick little post documenting my own personal experience with the side effects of juicing. You could read back through my previous posts to discover them yourself but here I included those that I neglected to mention....
Day 1:
Food Cravings & Burping
I wanted to eat what ever I saw others eating or on TV. I think simply
because it was forbidden. I also noticed that the Tart Juice made my
Acid Reflux worse (duh) and had me burping like crazy.
Day 2:
Total elimination of "back door toots" - Body Aches - Sense of Smell Increase
I suffer from horrendously painful, often loud, and sometimes uncontrollable
farts. They are at their worst 1st thing in the morning and at the end of my
day. It almost always creeps up just after eating. Day one was the 1st day
my gas issues were virtually non existent and today (unless it was while I
slept) I didn't notice a single one slip. Nor did I have any cramping pain.
I did experience an aching in my teeth, just the ones with fillings and in my
joints and legs. It didn't last but the one day. I also noticed that my nose
was smelling things much easier than ever before.
Day 3:
Excessive Urination & it Stinks - Minimal Cravings - No Hunger
It only makes sense after all I am drinking a TON more liquid than ever
before that I am peeing more than I ever have before. One odd thing about
that.... It smells pretty weird. Not horribly bad but just enough to say
Ewww! Same goes for my bowel movements. I mean poop never smells good but
now it smells funky, unlike I have ever noticed it before. I didn't really
have any food cravings and certainly didn't experience any hunger pains.
Day 4 :
Mucus build up & that Sense of Smell
Its not overly gross or uncomfortable but more like when you are getting over
a cold and you have just that little bit of mucus that sits in the back of
your throat and wont go away. There is also the waking up in the morning with
a touch of cotton mouth & the overwhelming desire to take a Brillo pad to my
tongue. Also that sense of smell thing I discovered has a good side & a bad
side. The good things smell great and I notice them right away - the bad well
they smell worse and I just wish they'd go away!
Day 5:
Mental Health Improving - That Smell thing again
I have been noticing a change in my emotional well being. I have felt happier
and less stressed. Not to mention my creative juices (pun intended) have
begun to flow again. I am experiencing a renewed sense of mental energy.
I am totally digging the increased sense of smell. Today it caused me to turn
my nose up at something I once loved. French fries use to smell like heaven
to me, smelling them use to make me salivate & crave them. Today I smelled
the fries and immediately was overpowered by the grease that brought them
to that golden crisp. That desire which previously was virtually
uncontrollable was now extinct.
Day 6:-
Boredom - Blurred Vision - Feeling Odd
I am bored with Juicing, I desire solid foods not because I have been hungry
Shocking to me I haven't experienced any hunger issues. I wore makeup for the
first time since starting this fast and I couldn't seem to maintain my focus.
I also felt odd, nothing I can really explain, it was a combo of a physical
and mental state of ..... Limbo/Fog/Change I really can't explain it. It
wasn't a bad feeling but more uncertain. Kind of like now as I try to explain
it. It could be as a result of the toxic waste elimination and my system
transferring to a new state of awareness (as they say) but having never
experienced this. I can't really tell you as whatever it is.... hasn't fully
crossed over/developed.
Day 7 :
Made a Decision - Weight Loss - Sleep
I am going to slowly reintroduce solids again & take this fasting thing a bit
slower - not take on so much at once. When I decided that - I began to feel a
bit better about my future and juicing. I think that was my mental issue
yesterday. I didn't want to eat anything solid for my 1st meal today so I
juiced it. I feel a tad guilty for reintroducing solids so I am going to
start slow with soup. Tomorrow maybe a cucumber. I have fallen in love with
juicing my own fruits. I can't imagine buying it pre-made at the store!
Veggies however are still not my choice as a liquid, but I am not giving up.
I also lost 7lbs while partaking in this fast and I've been able to fall
asleep more easily and stay asleep longer. That makes me feel good too.
Oh and I should also add - I am not wearing make-up today & am not having
issues with blurred vision - maybe there was a connection.
