Pre-fast day 1

OK, hi everybody... or maybe just hi to myself.
I'm transitioning into a 30 day juice fast with a 4 day pre-cleanse and a 5 day post cleanse.
Motivation: Juice fasting seems so right. It answers a lot of needs I have - weight loss, learning about my body, spiritual awakening, self-reliance, breaking various addictions...
I have a past with heavy drug use, which I was able to leave behind me. However, I never learned to control my eating. It seems like since high school (12 years or so ago) I have always had something in my life that I've had an out-of-control relationship with. So no more hard drugs, but food is there to take its place.
I have a fantastic fiance whom I love dearly. We've just moved from NYC to Vermont, where he's from, to settle down a bit, slow things down a bit, spend time together, and get married. We'll be tying the knot this summer at a beautiful outdoor bbq at his parent's house, on top of a mountain. I'm just so excited about everything.
However, I'm just fat. I used to be an athlete, stopped working out in college. I love to do yoga, and have for years, but especially after leaving NYC, I've really packed on the pounds. I'd say I'm between 180 and 190 to start. I don't have a scale because I just can't stand to even think about how much I weigh. I'm 5'5 and 3/4 inches (gotta get that extra 3/4 inch!) I have a very voluptous frame and I know I'll never be 120 lbs. But I'm shooting for 140 by july 22 2006.
I have a lot of strategies ready to go. I've started preparing for my fast by doing sh*tloads of reading. I've got a super awesome juicer (I mean it's REALLY great). I had my last few decadent meals (stuffed shells and pecan and apple pie a la mode), and today it's been juice and raw veggies mostly.
I had some chocolate and some diet soda too today, but this is the transition period. I'm sticking to juice and broth tonight, maybe some raw veggies.
Enema... I've decided this is an essential part of the cleansing, but I don't really like what's going on. The other night I got more water in than before, but it really hurt my stomach. Can't tell if that's cramping or if it's cramping from my period.
I'm still going to take my birth control pills during the fast. They're so tiny, what harm could they do? Just kidding, I know they're hormonal, but I'm certainly going to keep taking them through the next year, so abstaining for a month seems silly.
Today: Pear, ginger & lemon juice, peppermint tea
Lunch: tomato, scallion, onion, lettuce salad
with 2 small grape leaves (a bit of rice). also had a few chocolate covered nuts and diet pepsi.
Dinner: Going to take care of that right now.
I'm psyched to find a forum to type in. My journal at home is good, but this is better. Till tomorrow!
