Heaven on Earth
Demystifying the: "Enchanted Garden"

In the past couple hours this blog-writer made reference to: "The Different Drum: Community Making and Peace" and "he most highly recommend(ed) it and ideally to take it on as a committed study group" to six other people who might possibly all aspire toward becoming an authentic "Enchanted Garden Community." He has to see this recommendation simply just in terms of possibly "sowing seed" (even though he thinks he may have first sowed this seed about a year ago ; ~ ).
Mt 13:3 "Behold, the sower went out to sow.
And as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the way, and the birds came and devoured them.
And others fell on the rocky places, where they did not have much earth, and immediately they sprang up because they had no depth of earth.
But when the sun rose, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered.
And others fell on the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them.
But others fell on the good earth and yielded fruit, one a hundredfold, and one sixtyfold, and one thirtyfold.
He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
Another "seed" offered in the meeting with "six other people" by another individual concerned communication to which this writer concurred saying "it is a corner-stone for community-building" who previously presented:
"People who are willing to be present for this kind of radically-honest communication are the ones who are more able to co-create genuine community. On the other hand - sharing radically-honest communications is most likely contrary to the 'conditioning' that most people have been living under virtually all of their lives and consequently this is why most people probably need some form of supported de-conditioning for their personal transformation in this regards."[4]
In light of all the above, maybe "a committed study group" is not the most practical/accessible way toward the shared transformational process that this writer concurs with Scott Peck is required (as stated in his book: "The Different Drum"). Maybe a workshop is a better approach.[6]*
"The Different Drum by M. Scott Peck explores in depth the concept of building community. In the first section of the book called 'The Foundation,' Peck writes about how as a younger man he had been involved in very few true communities in his life. But when he was a member of a true community, it had great impact on his life. He goes on to explain the concept of genuine community and how a community is formed. Peck defines “true community” as a group of people who have developed these characteristics: inclusivity, commitment, and consensus; a sense of realism; the ability to be contemplative and self-aware; feelings of safety in all members; the ability for members to experiment with new types of behaviors; the ability to fight gracefully; a place where all members are leaders; and a spirit of peace. Peck then outlines the stages that a group needs to go through to become a true community and identifies how a community is then maintained."[5]
And: "He advocates a grass roots effort: that each individual person starts a community, in church, school or neighborhood."

Over 15 years ago this blog-writer returned to "The Enchanted Garden Intentional Community" for about the fourth time." He has a long history with this place that began as of 1987 with the commencement of "The Harmonic Convergence." Over the course of this recent 15 + year history he has thought of writing a book based on his real life observations of the dynamics and their consequences at play in: "The Enchanted Garden" however he had quickly dismissed these ideas because he was reasonably certain that the book had already been written and that people simply just need to read it if they want to know what this "bible" says about community-building. The title of the book is: "The Different Drum: Community Making and Peace." He most highly recommends it and ideally to take it on as a committed study group. He thinks that's about the best he may have to offer along with the perspective from Rudolf Steiner regarding what a healthy social life consists of.

"...goodness represents the fruits of man ... humans have come down to earth ... precisely in order to bear fruit. These fruits are the luminous thoughts, warm feelings, noble deeds, and the joy, beauty and peace that we bring to others. We must get up every morning with the thought of doing good. The seeds, the little sprouts that God has placed in our soul will then begin to come out, they will become confident and in a very short while, they will bear flowers and fruits."[3]

"...when you work for a divine idea, it acts upon you immediately, and gives you all its treasures."[2]

Comment:
One way or another you work. If this is true for you then why not work for a divine idea (by whatever name you may give it) and thereby enjoy all its treasurers? .........

"If you turn your back on heaven in order to please others, you will lose everything, both heaven and earth. ... If you seek heaven, on the other hand, you will also possess the earth, for the earth always follows, it submits itself to heaven and is at its service. Sooner or later, if you abandon heaven in order to cling to earth, the earth will slip from your grasp and you will be left with nothing."[1]
