I am from Portugal where there are a lot of Arundo Donax. I use Arundo Donax as mulch for organic vegetable and fruit production with no-till farming. I have excellent results. And I don't have problems with Arundo sprouts because I first let it dry at least for 4 months. Only after that period, I transform it into mulch. This material is very rich in phosphorous and it's an ideal mulching for fruit crops. In Portugal, it is also an invasion crop so it is an ideal material to use in farming.
