Day 3 - Well barely
I wish I would have just fallen asleep straight through the night. But everything happens for a reason.

It's Friday and a busy busy day for me. So I made it through Day 2. I was hoping to cap the day with an epsom salt bath to help me feel better but decided to just sleep it out. So I went to bed at about 10:30 but woke up just before 2am. I was wondering what the heck it felt like I slept much longer than that. I did the usual bathroom trip and drank water. My mind was just going on and on. I was just literally annoyed that I couldn't fall asleep. I was surprised to actually have physical hunger. I was definitely in ketosis. I was on the Paleo/LoCarb/HiFat diet before I started and it seemed to helped kick me into ketosis quicker. However, that hunger and stomach pain was just too much. I was too agitated at 2am and thought this has to stop. I am going to eat and just call it at that. I had raw pumpkin seeds, almond milk, and nutritional yeast. I went to bed relieved knowing I will sleep like a log.
So I was hoping to go longer but I am okay with it. As I said before I will let my body decide. Well, it did and that was it for me. Right now the ketostix showing the darkest since I started the fast. Ohhh I weighed in this morning at 135.2 lb and 31.2% Body fat.
I didn't drop as much weight initially as I did in the previous fast because of the Paleo/LCHF diet. You don't retain much water without really eating carbs/gluten/grain and ketosis makes you pee out the fluids. I'm not an expert at the details that's just from reading stuff on the internet. Anyhoo, had almond milk and plant based protein powder. Later in the afternoon I had sauteed arugula/kale (1.5 cup all together) in garlic, clarified butter/coconut oil. Well, so this is not exactly the way to start refeeding after a 2 day water fast. But I'm back on the Paleo/LCHF diet. I just really needed to do this water fast to reset things again. I felt like old habits started begin and I wanted to nip it in the bud. I didn't want to end up back to square one. It's not exactly how I want to decide to do a water fast but it was my way of getting back some control and appreciating/savoring food once again.
I finally got that epsom bath with a good old sea salt scrub. Got rid of some toxins, absorbed some magnesium, and cleared my energy. I felt like a new person.
My journey over the past month with water fasting and Paleo has been interesting. I really don't do coffee anymore. I kicked the habit years ago. However, I got to hearing about this Bulletproof Coffee thing. So I gave it a try. Ohhh man it was yummy. Coffee/Butter/Coconut Oil or MCT. I made one for my husband today and took a few swigs. The caffeine and also stevia both affect me. I got real strong hunger reaction after 30 minutes. Very interesting. Another reason to seriously eliminate coffee. Bummed but I'm used to tea. I make bulletproof tea as well. I just gotta watch the Stevia.
