Still Day 10 but I forgot to tell you some stuff!!
water fast, cleanse, diet,
Date: 8/11/2012 1:23:49 AM ( 12 y ) ... viewed 1956 times So I forgot to say I went to the doctor today as I am in the care of my doctor during my fast. I think this is very important to say. I promised my doctor that I would go off the fast if he was concerned. So I go see him about every week. Anyway, today's visit was funny because my blood pressure was good but when he took my pulse he kind of looked at me funny and said "how much are you jogging during your fast?" I had to admit that I have still maintained my running during the fast mostly. Anyway, my resting pulse rate was 42 today. Which means I am in deep cleansing and that is great. My body is responding well to this cleanse.
The other thing that is important to say is that I did a pre fast to ready my body for this longer fast. I did 3 days the first time, then took ten off then I did another fast for 5 days. This really helped me prepare for this fast especially since it is scary at times the way your body responds so doing it more than once gives you a great idea of what is normal for you. So that way you dont get scared and quit.
My 5 days fast was good but very hard. I craved food almost the whole time and didnt like the water taste etc. But this cleanse has been easy because my body new what to expect. So if you are going to get serious about doing this do at least 2 pre fasts so that you get your body ready for along fast. My next fast will be 30 days but I will do that probably in Sept, Oct.
Ok so my history is important too. I began this journey at a huge 315 pounds. I was hardly able to walk due to my knees and ankles being swollen. I was miserable, and my asthma was way out of control. I started my weight loss with a 3 day fast, and then I went to Curves For Women. That place is incredible to begin a diet. They measure you and really get you motivated. I went there for about 3 months and lost 45 pounds and won money for being the biggest loser of the club haha. Now I find that Curves does not challenge me enough at my current weight so I have a personal trainer through my job and I jog. I started out walking a mile a day. Then began to jog a mile a day. Then I realized that for me an hour a day of exercise is perfect. So I run for an hour. Normally now I run about 3.5 to 4 miles in an hour including warm up and warm down. When I jog I sprint periodically to get my pulse up. My knees are back to normal with no pain and my ankles are fine too. I was border line diabetic 5 months ago. Now, I had another blood glucose test and he said I am out of the red zone!! I feel so great about that. I think I added years onto my life by preventing diabetes for now. I am 44 years old.
So all together to date I have lost 69 pounds in approximately 5 months. That is a lot yes but I feel good and am planning on eating properly and maintaining exercise.
For those heavy people out there. Dont let a doctor tell you that you have to have surgery to lose weight...you dont. You just need to start and stay focussed. Water fasting is the best thing that happened to me because it broke all the cravings I had to bad food and it cleansed my system. If you lose 69 pounds like I have, you need to cleanse to get rid of those toxins caused by burning so much fat. I absolutely will keep fasting periodically for the rest of my life just because it is such a good way to stay clean and focussed. I now crave raw food, instead of french fries. It really has transformed me.
