Introduction and 10 Day Water Fast Day 0

This is my first blog dedicated to beating food addiction. It is very likely that I will be touching a great variety of topics as my journey towards healthier habits progresses. Such topics might include: detoxification methods, dieting, raw foods, exercise routines, yoga, meditation and emotional progress. My aim is to take advantage of my anonymous state to be completely honest with my progress. I do this because I believe it´s the best way for other people suffering from food addiction to gather useful information and maybe the needed courage to regain a balanced life. We can all learn from each others progresses and mistakes. There is no need to judge people, just enjoy life =)
A little more about me:
I am a young female living as an immigrant in a foreign country. Inaccessibility to healthy foods has made my food addiction worse (even though I ave been vegetarian for close to 5 years) and I have put on 10kg (around 20 pounds, I think) in the last 2-3 years. I have been a food addict for around 13 years and though I am not yet obese, I know it will continue escalating faster and faster if I continue like this. Binging disorder is something I tend to keep very private to myself, and also something I have many times tried to beat, unsuccessfully. I believe many other people find themselves more or less in the same situation and maybe what I try might help them find a way out of this, to me at least, worst of addictions.
10 DAY WATER FAST: DAY 0
Food eaten during the day (be prepared for a shock): 1 big bag Doritos with salsa, 1 big bag Maltesers, 1 fast food pasta dish, 1 diet coke, almost 1 whole packet of cookies, 1 big pot ben and jerrys cokie dough ice cream, 1 chocolate pastry. And all this is far less than what I have been eating lately... :S
So now it´s time to give my body a rest and allow it to cleanse for as long as I can. I do not have money to spare and cannot afford to quit my ob now, so I will see how long I can fast without altering my daily life too much. I´m aiming for a minimum of 10 days only water fast, then a few days with detox products (probably teas because they are the cheapest) and then gradually introducing solid foods in an 80% raw vegan diet (or more if I can).
Tomorrow I will try to include some pictures of me so anyone can compare the physical effects on my body =)
For now, I shall have some rest since for what I am reading the first 5 days of the fast will be the worst :S
