I'm feeling pretty good this morning, though not very energetic. All along I had been trying to set myself up for believing that I could continue doing my hour long, high impact work out everyday. Thats kind of funny to me now, at this point I will be thrilled if I can walk my son the six blocks to his pre school and back. I don't feel completely lifeless but there is a definite lack of energy. But despite that I do feel relatively good and I can definitely see and feel some of the benefits starting in.
The skin all over my body seems a bit fresher and smoother, although it is dry, so I keep up with the olive oil scrub and using some natural lotions and oils. I've noticed the slight lines on my face are now even more slight and some even undetectable all together. According to the scales I've lost ten pounds since Saturday, I know that some of the will come back once I resume eating again, but that is such a crazy thing to see, ten pounds gone in two days. The craziest thing to me has been the sudden awakening of my sense of smell, it's unreal right now! I can smell absolutely everything, like the detergent on people's clothes, even if they are a couple of feet away I can smell it so clearly I can tell what individual brand it is! The same goes for surfaces that have been cleaned, I can smell the individual cleaning products, I can smell gas burning off cars, I get overwhelmed when I open the shower curtain and can smell every single shampoo, body wash, face scrub and soap thats in there, even if they are in closed up bottles. Nothing I have smelled in the last few days has been unpleasant though, although I picked up the cat and could smell something like dead old skin, dirt and sweat, which I have never smelled from him before, that was slightly off putting.
There is an amusing thing, that is related to the weight loss I had before the fast and now the ten pounds gone - I have a tattoo on my back of a woman, she was always curvy but now she is tall and skinny, I guess she got put on a healthful cleanse as well.
Though my hunger pains have passed and I don't feel overwhelmingly starved I have had some weird cravings. I have never been that fond of swiss cheese, I just don't ever even think about it, but last night when I was falling asleep I just had this ridiculous and overwhelming craving for melted swiss cheese of all things.
The only other not so pleasant occurrences I've had are the mild backaches I came to expect from research. And this morning when I woke up my eyes were very dry and opening them, even in a dark room, hurt a little.
Now I am going to see if I can make that walk to the school and come back for a little nap.
