change
never stop learning
Date: 7/29/2008 2:11:30 PM ( 13 y ) ... viewed 2567 times I learned a lot through the 18 week weight loss challenge experience that I hope to remember. I learned that I don’t have to have a perfect diet to succeed – that it is more important to be consistent.
I lost 28.6 lbs
bmi went from 33.8 to 28.2
body fat went from over 41.6 to 37.6 for a loss of approx 4% body fat
I did not end up using the MC w/ superfood like I planned. There was too much detox action from the MC drink, so I gave that up rather quickly. I settled instead for the 10 oz. Junior’s sirloin cheeseburger instead. LOL I ate them just about every day. I added salad to the meal and really enjoyed it; and more often then not, I usually had a sweet to eat with my meal. I dropped the french fries (and four pounds along with) like a bad habit - and with good reason. I started reading about the glycemic index of foods and insulin spikes & what not. This info has really been a wakeup call. I look forward to more study on the subject.
I am convinced that intermittent fasting is a very good choice for me. I eat one good meal every 24 hours. A seriously major observation: The gas that was making me so uncomfortable is gone – holy smoke & thank you Jesus!!! Do you know how it feels to not be farting toxic bombs all day and night? That is a blessing indeed. I have increased my exercise. Last week I took a nice long walk to work – it was five miles and took me two hours. I’m working toward getting out of the house early enough on a regular basis to walk to work, weather permitting. I plan to gradually increase resistance exercise as well. I haven’t been back to yoga, but I plan to go again. Since there’s obviously no getting around the benefits of exercise – the evidence is all around us - I’ve decided it’s better to just get with the program. Change can be challenging, but it’s worth it.
