I usually don’t like to post every day but hey, who knows; BUT I did think this part of the fast was noteworthy ----DAY6
So I must say I actually started my fast 3 days earlier, at a meal, & then immediately followed with a salt water flush to get everything out of my system (unfortunately I haven’t mastered the ”cycle” cravings yet. but I’m working on it).

Like many of you out there I always assumed I was eating ”healthy”. Heck I was on a specific ”athlete” diet per request of my coaches. Honestly, because I spent more time on the soccer field than I did in school I was able to maintain my weight at 5’4 & 130lbs. (I was a size 2 and still told by doctors my BMI was ”over-weight”-bunch of bullshit). Well now that I’m in college the proof is in my body.n I kept about the same diet, with a lot less exercise. Day 2-5 Update
Day 1 Weight: 163.2lbs / BMI: 30.8 / MUSC: 35.6% / FAT: 37.5%
Day 5 Weight: 150.6lbs / BMI: 28.4 / MUSC: 37.7% / FAT: 33.7%
So the past few days have been fairly easy. Day 2-3 I was really just taking it easy… the most exercise/movement I had was to take my dogs out (2 pugs so there isn’t any ”real” walking going on) & just getting up to get water/bathroom.
I started working again on Monday (Day4) noting a 3lb weight loss from Monday-Tuesday. Mind you I work from home this week, which constitutes drafting from a desk. Because I really want to maximize toxin & weight loss I wante ... read more

I like to take measurements at the start, and every 10lbs to help differentiate between water weight, fat, & muscle loss.

On day one I usually like to do one last salt water flush, but as I am on my cycle this is a big NO-NO*…. as I should have mentioned before. ( You have a high risk of retaining the water ) So I will wait and probably attempt half of the 1quart/2tbsp salt water until later on. (I shouldn’t need as much since my body will have started using ketones instead of glucose for fuel.)
Unfortunately that may make avoiding cravings much harder. So far today I have been very occupied, cleaning & re-organizing after the holiday, which has kept my mind off of food.

The best means of preparation of a fast….is to fast. If the body has never undergone a fast before it is suggested to start with 1 day, 3 days, & a week so that you, and your body have time to adapt to the idea, & know (an idea) of what to expect. Another significant attribute is to cut calories day by day, and stick to fruits & veggies (cutting out bad carbs & sugar). Ultimately this will allow the first 3 days to be easier.

The idea and concept of the ”New Year” always leads to people wanting & hoping, to create a new and better self. This past year I started getting back in the groove of working out, eating better, and fasting. So This time I really wanted to kick it in the butt, and do everything & anything to succeed.
