I love happy endings. I wish you the best. On the one hand you knew a man who was " pompous, ridiculously arrogant, and ...puffed". And now you have a "breath of fresh air, a clean river scent, a sunny disposition". Life is short. Enjoy yourself and take care of this man. He sounds like a real treasure. I am hearing the song "Love is in the Air" by Stephen Sondheim (1962) from the musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (I recommend you buy or rent DVD) with the flip side of George Gershwin's (1938) "Love is Here to Stay".
For those of you interested in the lyrics read below.
Love is in the air
People everywhere act queerly.
Some are hasty, some are halting.
Some are simply somersautling.
Love is going around.
Anyone exposed can cath it.
Keep your window clsoed and latch it.
Leave your house and lose our reason.
This is the contagious season.
Love is going around.
(MY FAVORITE PART COMES NEXT)
It's spreading each minute.
Throughout the whole vicinity.
Step out and you're in it.
With all the fun involved, who can stay univolved.
Love is in the air.
If you start to feel a tingle and you like remaining single,
Stay home. Don't take a breath.
You could cath your death.
Cause love is around.
Love is around.
Re: Love Is Here To Stay (my piano teacher would play this song for me at my request...I had the biggest crush on him which led to nothing but me practicing alot and wearing the cutest outifts to my piano lessons but that is another story!)
lyrics:Love Is Here To Stay
It's very clear. Our love is here to stay.
Not for a year but ever and a day.
The radio and the telephone and the movies that we know.
Maya just be passing fancies and in time may.
But oh my dear, our love is here to stay.
Together we're going a long, long way.
In time the Rockies may crumble, gibraltar may tumble.
They're only made of clay, but our love is here to stay.
