Any time. I remember EXACTLY what you're talking about in your most recent post - about feeling like your life is built on anticipation around food.
I too felt that same way last December - I was packing in the carbs, I was gaining weight, and I wasn't exercising - at least you have that pattern going for you.
My first fast (goal 30 days) lasted 8 days, with 3 days raw before that. It was an amazing experience for me. I also put a lot of pressure on myself to get to 30 days, which is why I crashed and burned after 8 days. So know going into your fast that you can always fast again, that there's no pressure, that you're learning about a new way to be. It takes time.
The gift that came to me was understanding more, bit by bit, of what I'm putting into my body. And feeling, really feeling what that results in. I was eating SO MUCH - the biggest thing I've done over 6 months is to trim down my portions majorly, and include much more raw veggies and fruit.
I've not fasted for longer than 8 days but I'm going for it again in July, 11 days is the goal this time around.
Just be aware of that feeling of desperation because it will turn into stress and pressure on yourself. So being aware of that feeling, for what it is, will give you strength as you try something new, a whole new way of living.
Good luck again. Carrott Ginger is so freakin' good - but make sure to include your green veggies too!
