I thought TV didn't control me, but I experimented this past month leaving the TV turned off a lot more, and my life got SO much more interesting, and I got into reading books like CRAZY -- and I feel more excited about life in general. I had my paid TV connection turned off today and will just use it now for the DVD and VCR. Now if I could only figure out a way to get off the Internet too. ;) I just heard on the radio today that people with Tivo (sp?) have all their TV-watching habits reported back to some central place.
