I don't think God wants to separate us from love, but I think sadly religions and especially religious fanatics separate themselves. We are all in the same family. We have different names or religions but we are all children of God. We isolate ourselves when we only love those who are in the same religion as ourselves and share our beliefs. My Dad created a distance with his brothers and sisters and with me. He lived in his own world. Only those who agreed with his philosophy of living were allowed into his world. It seems he casted out most people as being sinners and heathens. Many of them were only guilty of having a different religion. It seems in his own way he created his own religion and a group of followers. He has written many sermons and prayers. I find most of them difficult to read as I don't share his beliefs and do not agree with many of his comments. I wished I would have had the opportunity as an adult to engage in this conversation with him, but when we saw each other he did all the talking and did not seem to listen to anything I said.
