I am awed by the honor of having Peter Dukich
visit the Enchanted Garden on his 92th Birthday.
People came to celebrate his 90th from all over
the country and state.
This is very deep that he came here.
I have not honored my own Father who lives
in Los Angeles in this way; but maybe if we
honor one Elder we are honoring All Father's.'
Peter is spending his Last Years leaving a Legacy
of Peter's Powder, a biodynamic sifting of
compost into its core essential
expression particles the size of fine dust.

From Dust to Dust.
[ "From Dust to Dust," Jem--
This is a reference to something Dr. Jensen
used to say often/ mixed with another Bible
reference that may not be connected. You point
is well taken.
Dr. Jensen would get this inspired gleem
in his eye and say, "We are Risen Dust!"
In other words, we were biochemically alive
minerals--once mineral elements that had been activated
and evolved by the Life Forces
(and our Soul) to do God's work, and then
eventually when we are spend and use up our
Life Forces, the physical part of us returns to the
Earth to be Recycled, i.e, we return to the Dust.
I was thinking in some metaphor as well,
of Peter...so full of life, and entering
his years when he can still walk, but he appreciated
the cane I gave him. With his last fleeting breaths,
you can be sure, he will be gardening and remembering
more nature wisdom than I or many of us will ever experience.
I felt a deep calling, as expressed in all the writing
and photos I did yesterday--to want to honor Peter Dukich.
This is Holy Work he is doing.

Compost pile here at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community.
The event took place some time in the late 90's, I guestamate.
Uwe lived here then, I believe.

How fortunate when I was in Escondido in early '99 I got some of Peter's Powder and remember that it was the latest evolution in Biodynamic compost! I fed it to two rows of trees on land (where I was doing a work exchange at the time).
I then came to stay at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community and yes Uwe was living there then. I remember that very well! :D) Also, Jeff was there whom I later had as my sous chef when catering a Non-violent Communication training in Northern California that was taught by the Bay Area people. (I remember the other people there at "the Garden" as well! Most all of them really good people! :D)
Anyway, about Peter's Powder, I would like to communicate with Peter's wife about that however the email I sent her came back as not deliverable! :(
Oh, and about "from Dust to Dust" well, not exactly my friend. I am sure that you will agree that this "powder" is the result of a living transformation along with an inner alchemy that altogether includes another realm (or two) way beyond that of the dust of our world. :D) Just wanted to throw in my "two cents worth"! :D)
