Gee, it's quiet in here...
Standing up at a computer in the Pacific College
library.
Dare I sit down?
I have been having these shooting pains
into the big toe, especially on the left side.
It's made me scream a couple times.
I was concerned that maybe it had something to do with
the low back pain I have been feeling in my left side,
I have also been having an incredible spider-like black
floater in the left eye since last Saturday that showed
up moments after I left the treatment room with Nuva Yeetah,
the master Aurevedic healer I have been seeing
in Encinitas.
The weather is incredible warm, sunny, and beautiful today
here in San Diego.
Just another day in paradise,
as the saying goes.
Bo Lozoff, a great humanitarian
was speaking in San Diego about two months ago.
Let's face it, he said, or something like that,
we're all going to be dead.
The question is, how do we really, really live
before we kick the bucket?
What will we be remembered for?
How will be make the most of the opportunity
that we are the extremely lucky ones.
Bo says that 2/3rds of the planet goes to sleep
not knowing if they are going to make it to the end of
the month, and here you and I are standing around
complaining about our varius aches and pains,
some in my case that come from sitting too much
at this computer, my addiction of choice.
Thank God it's Friday.
I have slipped on some new open toes thongs
until my new Wolky's arrive on Monday.
The old pair, that I bought in 2001 before my
hip revisions, are totally worn down. The heels
are enough to throw even an even tempered person
into an imbalance, let alone Your Enchanted Gardener.
Called up today and scheduled a treatment
here at the school. They had an appointment open.
Put on the Feng Shui Cure that Marina Lighthouse gave me
that draws in important people. I wear it on my belt buckle.
Something said put it on.
So I get down here, and my appointment has been changed
to the Doctor's shift, not the one I scheduled.
Once a month the practicing L.Ac fly in for this program,
and so a sweetheart Chinese lady Wenying Lin, who pushes
needles in the Mountain High City, 303.694.5757, gave
me an excellent treatment.
"You are very lucky!" she says. I usually charge $75.00 for
a treatment like this." I usually charge $150.00 to let
doctor students work on my, I say. I am a very unusual case.
I bring the flowers, I say. She got excited. I told her
I will bring her some flowers next month. She is a real sweetheart,
and if you are in Denver, go see her.
Moshe Heller for New York was also seeing me.
He has a regular practice in Ren's little Big Apple.
I see him every year at the Pacific Symposium where
I improve the Feng Shui and do a brief opening and closing ceremony.
They brought in a regular M.D. to see me.
Just imagine, a regular M.D. in bed with the acupuncturists,
what is the world coming to: Integrative medicine.
I asked if the kidney thing was related to the shooting pains.
He did the regular M.D. moves,
this way, that way, this way, that way,
and concluded, the shooting pains were not kidney related.
He didn't even think I had a kidney problem
but so much for that diagnosis. Then the
Chi specialists read my pulses and treated
me for Kidney stuff. Of course, Western Kidney
and Kidney deficiency in the Traditional Chinese Medicine
way of viewing are two different things.
How did you get here, I asked the M.D.?
One of my patients showed up with good results,
and I thought I would see what was going on here,
he said, or something like that. He works at Kaiser.
Sitting in the waiting room, I saw some of my favorite
chi filled supervisors, the ones I love so much
and play with at the Pacific Symposium around November
each year.
I spotted Robin Tiberi, the wife of Alex. Alex
is one of the hippest tattoed popular TCM
master doctors you will ever want to meet.
I love them both. They ride motorcycles and
hang with horses. The students love him.
He travels a lot.
Then I saw Linda Harvey, who teaches about women's
complaints, I think. She also has knockout chi energy.
After the treatment, I decided to change the water
on the flowers I brought earlier in the week for the clinic.
I ran into Jessica, my regular intern, the one
I was with on Tuesday, when the vase of flowers
spontaneously exploded
while she was treating me.
She was eating some healthy greens
and tomatoes and sitting with Thomas Flach
another great intern.
Jessica has really good chi too.
She talked about staying in San Diego
after graduation and creating a hospital here.
I told here I would hook here up with my
Feng Shui architects.
Then I ran into Julie Laffen, another intern,
who is working at the hospice shift,
She also works in the library.
I always liked her.
On the way out, I ran into Shelly, who has changed her
hair to brown from blonde. She teaches in the morning here
the assitstant interns. She had two clinics. I have
always liked her.
"How you doing" She asks.
I tell her that I was concerned that
the kidney thing was related to the shooting pains.
At this point, I am feeling better.
I think I have been sitting too much, I say.
The M.D. said the shooting pain was back related,
and a muscle thing.
I think I need more sex, I say.
We all need more of that, she says.
