  • Citrus Concerns   by  YourEnchantedGardener     18 y     1,712       2 Messages Shown       Blog: Plant Your Dream!
    Ms. Deradune,
    our noted Rawsome Queen
of the Curezone, and one of the favorite
    writers of Your Enchanted Gardener,
    was reading Dr. Bernard Jensen's
Food Healing Laws here on my Blog.

    Deradune asks a question:

    http://curezone.com/blogs/c/c.asp?d=6817

"Why did Dr. Jensen say, use citrus in sections only,
    not in juice form?

Here is some of what my spiritual dad would have said
    to Deradune:

    (I was Jensen's ghostwriter...
for a number of his early books...)

The main concern about citrus is that
most sources pick it too early.
Jensen would say that citrus was meant to be
high in sodium. The Sun, he would say, is a sodium
star. When picked too early, citrus does not get the
sodium it needs. This is why many of us get aches
and pains. Sodium is the Youth Element. It keeps us
limber, according to Jensen's school of thought.

Jensen also said that anyone who was sensitive
should stay away from citrus. He said the Seminole
Indians, who were very psychic in nature,
would punish their children for eating citrus.
It just made them too overly sensitive, such
as the way our kinds go nuts with too much sugar.

Jensen lived in an area where citrus grew
prolificly, Southern California, but he avoided it
    for the most part.

He advised to eat in in sections to eat the whole food.
The whole food had elements that were lost when juicing.
As well, juice would give too much of a good thing, so to speak.
He likely wanted his people to take the time to really eat the
    fruit.

Jensen took anyone with arthritis or muscle or bone pains
off citrus. He said it stirred up the acids in the body.

Jensen had a lot of fruit trees at his home,
    including citrus.

One of my favorite of his trees was a cocktail grapefruit
that was amazingly sweet. It was low acid, very low acid.

One of my favorite citrus in season is Pummelo grapefruit
    that is very low acid.

There are times when I indulge and eat oranges.
    They are so refreshing.

I find they generally loosen my bowel. I can also
get arthritic pains in my ankles, or feel nervous.

We have a Myer lemon that grows on our property.
    Myer lemons are highly prized.
I do not eat the fruit myself, however, when I want to lift
the vibration at a conference, or for doing Enchanted Garden
fresh aroma therapy, I like to have a lemon around.
    The fragrance is very uplifting.

The peel of citrus can also make a delightful addition
to fruit compote. The peel of organic citrus, when very
ripe, also has many healing properties.

Jensen was definitely into eating the Whole Thing.
His entire system was based on principles and laws.

He was very strong on advocating whole, pure, and nature,
    and fresh.

He used supplements to give people a jumpstart
so they could see results. In later years, as many,
he went more and more with supplements as our
    foods quality decreased.

One of my favorite Jensen books is called
"Empty Harvest.": It is about the plight of our foods.

If you really want to eat citrus, take steps to get to know
farmers who grow it, and make sure it is super ripe
and left on the tree so the sodium comes in.

Better yet, find a way to grow your own tree.

    • Oh my goodness!   by  Deradune     18 y     784

First of all, thank you for the dazzling compliments! And thanks for the report on Jensen re citrus (and more). I love to hear about Jensen!

I wonder what he would have thought of the practice some people do of taking one tablespoon of olive oil with one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice each morning as a mini daily liver cleanse?

(Warning: I'll ask you questions forever...! LOL)

      Hugs,
      Michele
