CALL TO ACTION
As you all know, cataract is a disease that no eye doctor wants to treat, or even consider treating, in blatant violation of the Hippocratic Oath. To them, the human lens does not matter. To the ophthalmology profession, the human lens is just a piece of expendable garbage which God, in his wisdom, put there so that they could make money removing it and replacing it with an expensive, inferior plastic IOL while exposing the patient to surgical risks and secondary complications.
But what if somewhere on this great planet Earth, there was an eye doctor who wanted to find a better way than surgery, and having found it, wanted to share that information with the world free of charge. Someone who knew how important it is to restore the optical clarity of the natural lens. Someone who heard the cries for help of those who fell victim to cataract, and to the arrogant hypocrisy and cruelty of his profession. In the last century, there were several such people, but they are long gone.
CureZone readers all over the world, do any of you know such a doctor who is practising today? I doubt whether there are more than a handful of eye doctors on this planet who want to cure cataract. You are more likely to find an eight-headed shark or Invaders from Mars. But if you do know of one - come on, surprise us and post it here!

I had attended a lecture by a french doctor (around 2005 in Paris, France) who was working at healing eye-diseases through a nutritional approach...For cataracts she recommended the use of silicium, selenium and manganèse...She claimed to have stopped the disease's evolution in 31% cases, and had some reversal of the condition in about 15% cases...She was working at the Caen's hospital (CHU) at the time and was planning to publish a book. It's been out (it's called "Les Oligo-Éléments pour vos yeux et votre santé" by Dr. Catherine Orsoni). I rang up the Ophtalmology department at the hospital but didn't get through (already closed)...And unfortunately she seems to have retired (the person I talked to didn't have her name on her list and I found an information about that somewhere else)...
She wasn't working on cataracts alone though, but on various bad eye-diseases if I remember well enough (there was an other doctor there involved in similar studies and approaches working in an other hospital - in Grenoble - too...).
I've come across two interesting doctors as well, one here, very recently, working both at his private office, and in an hospital (has practised surgery but doesn't anymore), and an other one, ophtalmologist and homeopathic doctor (in Paris)...They have an open mind but limited - natural - means against this disease though. The second one gave me a treatment against cataracts after warning me she thought it wasn't very likely to succeed (said she really could have done something if I had come to see her earlier on). I had asked her if we could try, she appeared glad that I did and agreed.
The first one knew about Dr Bates method (but didn't practise it), and seemed interested by my mentioning lanosterol (had heard or read about it, even implied that I could consider going on if tt was doing me good). Not exactly what you would want, but nice to hear still...
Doctors working in hospitals may be more likely to be looking for alternative treatments, as they are less directly exposed to the making money process, at least here (many people talking about budget cuts and savings however !!).

Hi all you cataracters!
I want to offer some thoughts about UV light and blue light. In aging lenses, there is a yellow pigment which protects the macular of the retina from degeneration by absorbing blue light. But in many of us, that "good" yellow pigment (3OH-kynurenine, 3OH-KY) is converted by bad enzymes (KATs) to a nasty brown substance (xanthurenic acid, XA) which modifies lens proteins so that they then absorb UV light unnaturally, leading to protein crosslinking, aggregation and cloudiness, thereby creating a nuclear cataract. In other words, it causes our lenses to self-destruct by absorbing UV light.
What started out as our friend (3-OH-KY), becomes our foe (XA).
The good news is, the nasty brown substance (XA) and its chemical relatives can be photobleached and probably broken down by blue light. The bad news is I can't just stare at blue light because that would irreversibly damage my retina. Well, I thought that, at least, I could wear eyeglasses that don't block blue light, but still block all the UV.
Many of us wear eyeglasses that either have a blue-reflecting coating or a blue-absorbing coating. I have been wearing a pair with a brownish, blue-absorbing coating for years. And I plastered all my computer monitors, even the TV, with blue light filters. But now I strongly suspect that blocking the blue light naturally present in daylight or other light sources all these years ("blue light over-kill") has caused my brunescent, nuclear cataracts to grow and become denser.
BOTTOM LINE: If there is no cataract, it seems a good idea to wear UV/blue-block eyeglasses to protect the retina from both UV and blue light, and to use a blue light filter on computers and electronic devices. But for someone with a yellow/brunescent cataract, blue-block filters may not be needed because the cataract itself is already protecting the retina from blue light. For me, the blue block is probably doing more harm than good.
So now, I hope to purchase new UV-block eyeglasses without a blue block, thus maximizing my efforts with other cataract reversal measures, such as N-acetyl carnosine or lanosterol eye drops.
The best UV block eyeglasses will have a fairly sharp cutoff at 400nm, blocking 99% of all wavelengths shorter than 400nm while still allowing all the other colors (including blue) into the eye. Also, I don't want UV-cut sunglasses which cut down most of the total visible light. They make the pupil open wide, allowing even more UV to enter the eyes from the side. UV400 block eyeglasses which cut down the total visible light by no more than 5% would be best. They are very expensive, but I hope to get a pair very soon.

Since cataract is a progressive disease, it will usually result in blindness if nothing is done about it. A few days ago, I again asked my eye doctor why the eye profession has chosen to abandon cataract sufferers who can't or don't want to undergo cataract surgery, leaving them to go blind. In a surprising new turn of phrase, she then informed me that cataracts are "social blindness", and quite distinct from "medical blindness". She continued: "At University, we only learn how to treat "medical blindness", therefore we don't have to do anything about "social blindness". So don't any of you worry any more. Blindness is nothing to worry about as long as it's "social blindness"! Perhaps we should rename the 'Cataract Forum' as the 'Social Blindness Forum'?

We know how lucky dogs are when it comes to cataracts, because the eye profession didn't think they generate much surgical income, and allowed them to benefit from cataract reversal eyedrops just for dogs. Now, fish have joined the lucky dogs and cats. The American School in Taiwan did a project last year in which they successfully cleared fish cataracts using a chitosan nanoparticle suspension of a soluble sterol, 25-OH cholesterol, in eyedrops. But it was no more than an academic exercise to prove it could be done. The project team say they have no plans to take it any further to help humans. Whatever. They must have thought it important to help fish see where they're swimming. At least, fish no longer have to have cataract surgery any more! Using Bates Method for Nearsighted
I have recently heard of the Bates method for eyesight. I am near sighted and would like to try this. My prescription is -4.5 each eye. Would like to hear from people who have had success with this method.
I have heard of someone called Greg March form Dr Mercola's website who has a cd series called:
'Reclaim Your Eyesight Naturally'. Has anyone tried this?
