My Early health Experiences
I was born on Balkans. Both of my parents
were geologists and they didn't know a lot about health. Like all other
kids and adults, I received all available vaccines. I
received a first shot when I was 1 day old. I think it was TBC
(Tuberculoses shot). Then, I received standard infant shots when I was 3
months old. I think it was Polio & DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus & Peruses).
About 10 - 14 days later I got sick. (My mother does not remember the exact
time, she would have never, even in her wildest dreams, connected my health
condition with the vaccine shots that I received just a week earlier.)
I developed very bad case of bronchitis. My parents and
doctors tried everything to keep me alive. After weeks of coughing, my condition
was not getting better. I was treated with high doses of penicillin and
other available antibiotics, but, bronchitis was not giving up. The doctor
suggested to my mother that she should give up on me. He said:
"Your child is going to die, we have done all that we can. You should also
give up."
My
mother didn't give up. She consulted every doctor in the area until an old
retired doctor told her that if she wants me to live and get healthy, she should
take me out from Srebrenica and take me to the sea side. Fresh seaside air rich
in iodine should be of
help for my condition. So, my parents did
that. They took me and my older sister and we spent 1 month in a little
town at the coast of the Adriatic sea, place where there are
almost no rainy days during summer. We were camping, sleeping in tent,
and spending a whole day out on the beaches, sun and sea bathing.
And, I was cured. I was cured with the help of sun and clean
air and iodine.
But not forever.
Every year, bronchitis or cold would return, several times per year, and I
needed penicillin injections again and again. I really can't remember a single 3
months of my life that I did not have some kind of cold, throat infection or
bronchitis. I needed antibiotics, penicillin injections or something
similar few times a year. Oh, I really hated injections. I still hate
these injections, but I love the way it quickly took infection away.
Next summer, my family again spent several weeks on the sea side, and the
same for the next 25 years. Every summer, we would spend at least 3 weeks on the
sea side, camping, sun-bathing, swimming, diving & fishing.
From what I remember, the only time I was 100% healthy as a child was when I
was close to the shores of the Adriatic sea. The healing power of the sea was
crucial for my survival, and crucial for the creation of CureZone.
Smallpox virus, also
known by the Latin names Variola or Variola vera
|
Vaccination
I was also vaccinated against
smallpox. That was 1972, cause the same year there was an outbreak of
smallpox in Belgrade, Yugoslavia.
Smallpox had been absent from Yugoslavia for four decades when a single case
emerged in 1972. The virus quickly spread to infect more than 150 people.
That was the last recorded major European outbreak of
smallpox, and stories and testimonials of people affected by that outbreak have
been used in writing books and making several movies, including drama "Smallpox
2002" and a film "Variola Vera". I believe that the largest part of the
Yugoslavian population was vaccinated against smallpox 1972. That is 20 million
people. I believe that that particular vaccination could be the major
cause of en epidemic of unexplainable illness (epilepsy, autism, acne, ADD,
Allergies, diabetes, ... ) that many citizens of Yugoslavia experienced,
some of them many years later ... Those diseases were mostly unknown prior to
vaccination.
Timeline of an Epidemic
In February 1972, Yugoslavia is hit with one of the world's last serious
smallpox epidemics. Here's how it unfolded:
- A Muslim pilgrim carries the deadly virus back from Mecca --
Yugoslavia's first case since 1930.
- Falling ill, the pilgrim is rushed to a local hospital where he
infects a nurse and eight other patients.
- He is transferred to a hospital in Belgrade, where he infects 28
more people, including doctors and nurses.
- They infect about 150 others.
- The army is mobilized and martial law declared. Yugoslavia’s
authoritarian leader, Tito, imposed a sweeping quarantine, walling off
the victims from the rest of the population. Those infected were
isolated in hospitals, while another
10,000 people who had been in contact with the victims were
vaccinated and isolated in hotels. Entire blocks were cordoned off with
barbed wire and guarded by police -- essentially creating "health prison
camps".
- Borders are sealed, unauthorized travel is forbidden.
- Hotels and apartment houses are requisitioned and used to quarantine
more than 10,000 people.
- Within two weeks, two million people are vaccinated; approximately
two months after the first case, the epidemic ends.
- By 1980, an effort led by the World Health Organization results in
the worldwide "eradication" of smallpox.
In 1982, 10 years after the outbreak, Goran Markovic made a film
inspired by the smallpox epidemic in Belgrade "Variola Vera".
A
pilgrim
in Africa buys a flute from a very sick man at a
bazaar, unwittingly picking up the dread disease of smallpox in the
process. When the tourist passes through the controls at Belgrade airport,
he is already feeling the effects of the sickness. Nearly
comatose, the unfortunate traveler is admitted to Belgrade General
Hospital.
He ends up in a ward at a hospital while the doctors
try to diagnose his condition. The chief doctor misdiagnoses the man's
illness and as a consequence, the smallpox spreads like wildfire -- to the
little boy in a bed near him, to an unfortunate plumber, to the nursing
staff -- and he dies before these others also succumb, within a matter of
days.
Word of the plague spreads wildly and the hospital is entirely
quarantined, surrounded with police and armed forces.
The doctor who guessed wrong about the man's
condition locks himself up in his office for protection and injects
himself with s serum as a safety measure. Meanwhile, after much bumbling
along ... the place is quarantined and the World Health Organization
has someone arrive in a space suit to decontaminate the hospital and end
the epidemic. A fascinating film VARIOLA VERA raises
the questions of borders, containment, infection and the way a government
makes crucial, life-changing decisions without involving its citizens, a
consistent theme running through most of Goran Markovic's work.

About Smallpox
Smallpox first appeared in epidemic form at least 3,000 years ago and
is estimated to have disfigured hundreds of millions of people since.
Caused by the Variola virus, the disease is universally feared as the most
devastating of all contagions. No proven treatment exists. Most victims
survive, but are left with visible scars. Nearly 30 percent of cases are
fatal.
- Smallpox is a viral disease unique to humans. To sustain itself, the
virus must pass from person to person in a continuing chain of infection
and is spread by inhalation of air droplets or aerosols. Smallpox is
spread person to person by infected saliva droplets. Those infected are
most contagious during the first week of illness.
- Symptoms on average begin appearing 12 days after exposure.
Twelve to 14 days after infection, the patient typically becomes febrile
and has severe aching pains and prostration. Initial symptoms include
high fever, fatigue, headaches and backaches.
- Two to three days later, a rash of flat, red lesions appears on the
face and arms, spreading to the trunk and legs.
- The patient remains febrile throughout the evolution of the rash and
customarily experiences considerable pain as the pustules grow and
expand. Gradually, scabs form, which eventually separate, leaving pitted
scars.
- Death usually occurs during the second week.
- The disease most commonly confused with smallpox is chickenpox, and
during the first 2 to 3 days of rash, it may be all but impossible to
distinguish between the two. However, all smallpox lesions develop at
the same pace and, on any part of the body, appear identical. Chickenpox
lesions are much more superficial and develop in crops. With chickenpox,
scabs, vesicles, and pustules may be seen simultaneously on adjacent
areas of skin. Moreover, the rash in chickenpox is more dense over the
trunk (the reverse of smallpox), and chickenpox lesions are almost never
found on the palms or soles.
- In 5% to 10% of smallpox patients, more rapidly progressive,
malignant disease develops, which is almost always fatal within 5 to 7
days. In such patients, the lesions are so densely confluent that the
skin looks like crepe rubber; some patients exhibit bleeding into the
skin and intestinal tract. Such cases are difficult to diagnose, but
they are exceedingly infectious.
- Smallpox spreads most readily during the cool, dry winter months but
can be transmitted in any climate and in any part of the world. The only
weapons against the disease is patient isolation.
- In 1972, routine vaccination ended. By 1980, the WHO declared
smallpox eradicated.
- Health officials say most people could live nearly normal lives
during an outbreak if the public was alerted to watch for symptoms and
then stay home the instant they saw them -- and if public health
officials could keep on top of every potential case. But, say
researchers, most government officials have a lot of planning to do
before they're ready to handle an epidemic.
- Last major UK epidemic of smallpox was 1962.

As a young child, I loved movies. I loved heroes! Especially martial art movies
(Bruce Lee, Kung-Fu, Karate,etc.)
I also loved sports: athletics, swimming, diving, ... I was good at it.
At the age of 15 I started with a "No-Protein" diet in order to change the way
I look. I was exercising a lot and became quiet muscular, but I was much more
fascinated by the strength and the appearance of Bruce Lee than the Arnold Swarzenegger like. Diet was created by my own ideas, while trying to
avoid proteins, cause after several months of experimenting and reading, I
finally figured out that proteins in my diet are making muscles grow. I stopped
eating meat and started eating more vegetables, whole grains, grain sprouts ...
As a side effect of this diet, my immunity improved drastically! It
seemed that bronchitis did not come back. It was then I first realized
that diet and health are connected.
Then I started reading all the books about diet I came over. It took me
2 years of reading and experimenting with my own health to realize that there
are some people who have already studied the same subject, who came to the
similar conclusions, and who found more answers then me.
I was 17 when I first started reading books about Macrobiotics.
My older sister was suffering from skin problems. She got her
first acne only 7 years old. It was early puberty. Ever since age 7, her face was covered with acne and she had tried
everything possible to get rid of it. After many years of trying all
possible creams,
cosmetic treatments, dermatologists, .... one dermatologist prescribed
antibiotics, and she was taking antibiotics for two years, day after day. Whenever
she tried to stop antibiotics, her face would break out with acne
the very next day, and she did not have much alternative.
Macrobiotics and Eastern Thought
When I was 18, ( my sister was 19), we attended our first set of lectures on
Macrobiotics. It was on the coast of the Adriatic sea, in a little town called
Budva, Montenegro, 1987. It was 7 days seminar, with many lectures from different
backgrounds and different subjects, including nutrition, Macrobiotics, Qi
Gong, Shiatsu, Tai Chi Chuan, Acupressure, traditional Chinese medicine,
Reflexo-therapy, Feng Shui, Shamanism, herbal medicine ...
We were fascinated by Zlatko
Pejic's lectures. Zlatko Pejic was recognized as knowledgeable person on Chinese tradition, Qi-gong,
Tai Chi Chuan, acupressure, Feng Shui etc. He was invited by Michio Kushi to the
Kushi center in USA where he has studied Macrobiotics. He was the first macrobiotic
consultant in Yugoslavia.
His lectures were really inspiring. From the first day of seminar we
decided to stop eating sugar and milk products, and to start with healthy diet.
After coming home from that seminar, we continued with this diet. My
sister stopped using antibiotics, and her acne disappeared after two
weeks. Since this time, neither my sister, nor me have needed antibiotics ever
again.
Following 6 years we have attended many seminars and lectures on health,
macrobiotics, diet, nutrition, Shiatsu, Yumeiho (hip and spine correcting
therapy), reflexology, acupuncture, psychology, physiology, anatomy, biology,
toxicology, cleansing, ...
1987 I attended faculty of Geodesy and Survey, and next 5 years health study
was my free time occupation.
On those seminars and lectures my sister and me introduced thousands of
people of all ages who cured incurable diseases including Cancer, AIDS,
Diabetes, Kidney failure, Arthritis, Crohn's disease, Fibromyalgia, Asthma,
Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Colitis, Eczema, Psoriasis, Acne, Glaucoma, ...
What was the secret? The secret was diet, cleansing, change of lifestyle, change
of thoughts.
My sister and me become instructors of Macrobiotic, Shiatsu instructors,
Yumeiho therapy instructors. We started teaching other people. After
years of experience we felt enough confident to begin giving dietary and
lifestyle consultations to seriously sick people.
That was the beginning of my study.
The more I learned, the more I realized how much still it is that I do not
know. But some simple truth were not changing. Those truths are: Most
common cofactors of any disease are: , toxins (incl. vaccination), nutritional
deficiency, poor digestion and absorption, parasites, attitude, our thoughts,
our emotional body, our spiritual body.
By working with sick people I learned a lot. I learned that each illness and
each disease is caused by thousands of different cofactors. I also learned that
every single person could have need for special individual cures and diet. There
were no simple answers that could satisfy every person, every case. Some cures
works only on very few people, but are needed for those people.
My story would be incomplete if I would not say something about people I owe
a lot. People who helped me open my eyes and who's work is still a great
source of inspiration. I read their books, attended their lectures ,
learned from their experiences.
Here are some of them:

great health experts. From Udo Erasmus
I learned a lot about oils and about essential fatty acids. His fantastic
book about nutrition and health "Fats
That Heal Fats That Kill" is certainly something that I would
recommend to all of you who are interested in health. If you ever get a chance to attend his lectures, do
not hesitate.
I never met Dr.Richard Schulze,
but on this web site you will find at least 1000 web pages dedicated to his art
of healing. His knowledge is becoming more and more acknowledged thanks to the
Internet.
Theory and studies of
Peter D'Adamo
expressed in his book "Eat
right for your type" are also interesting, new and revolutionary.
Last years I am working as a programmer, and health research
is my free time occupation.
All truth goes through three stages:
First it is ridiculed.
Then it is violently opposed.
Finally it is accepted as self evident.
Schopenhauer
Cured with help of diet and sun
Summer 1992, I was organizing one day cooking workshops in Belgrade,
together with my parents who have been following all of the health studies and
seminars that me and my sister were attending.
Many people were interested to learn cooking and we have had almost every
weekend one workshop.
On one of those workshops came man called Perica Z.
Beginning of every workshop was usually introduction. All the people
introduce themselves and say a little story about themselves. Perica Z.
said that he has come to the seminar because his only child, 4 year old
daughter has Leukemia. He also told us that before she was diagnosed with
leukemia, she ate ice-cream every single day for more than a year!
Her mother also loved chocolate and ice-cream. She ate it a lot, before, while
pregnant and after pregnancy. He also asked me what is my opinion
about some alternative cancer cure that was based on honey. I did not
suggested him to use it, considering all the concentrated sweeteners that his
daughter was consuming prior to diagnoses.
Perica Z. also came on the next workshop. I suggested him that I should
visit them in their house, see his daughter, see their flat and place where she
sleeps, and give him more detailed recommendations for her diet.
I went to visit them already next week. I have forgotten name of his
daughter, but for this story I will call her "Liz".
Liz was quite lively child. Previous month she was on chemo therapy
treatment ("Cytostatics") and she has lost all her hair. While on that
treatment, she was very bad, but since treatment was over, she slowly
recovering.
I could see that treatment have done more harm, than good. They knew
and felt the same. Blood test was showing still very bad condition. I
suggested them strict "no-sweets" healthy macrobiotics diet with a lot of fresh
fish and carrot and burdock soups.
I also suggested them to find someone who has a goat, and to give her one cup
of fresh goat milk every day.
Goats in Yugoslavia are almost half-wild animals, and they eat much wider
specter of plants than cows. Everything goat eats, find its way into
milk. Goat milk is very rich on omega3 Essential fatty acid and it has
much more minerals and trace minerals than cows' milk.
Next chemo therapy treatment for Liz was suppose to be already in two weeks.
I told them that if she was my child, I would NEVER put her on that
treatment.
Perica's parents were living in one little town on the coast of the Adriatic
sea, so I suggested him to take Liz to his parents, because living on the sunny
coast was certainly much healthier than living in Belgrade and receiving chemo
treatment.
I never heard again from him. He never came back to another workshop.
I thought they did not accepted my suggestions and they did not feel comfortable
about continuing workshops ...
That kind of experience I have had often with parents of seriously sick
children. Most parents are not ready to take responsibility for child's
health in their own hands. It is not easy to say "no thanks" to doctors,
especially when you yourself have no medical education, or when the only person
suggesting different then the doctors is a young 24 years old student, studying
Geodesy.
It is a huge responsibility, and if they fail in their attempt to help their own
child, and child dies, they would never forgive themselves for not
listening to doctors and at least giving a try to the great standard of cancer
therapy: chemo!
Years have passed. I moved to live in Norway and I have forgotten the
story about Perica's daughter, together with hundreds of other people and
stories. Then, year 2000, I got a phone call from my sister Vanja. She told
me an amazing story. My sister got a letter from her best friend living
now in South African Republic.
My sister's best friend from her childhood was a girl called Spomenka, and
before war in Bosnia, she was living in Sarajevo, together with her
husband.
When the war started, Spomenka and her husband escaped to South African
Republic. South African Republic was one of the few countries that invited
Bosnian refugees.
In her letter Spomenka writes about a men she introduced in South Africa, a
man who knows me. His name is Perica Z. and he has told her a story about his
daughter, about healthy foods, about macrobiotics. His daughter is now 11
years old healthy girl, and he is very grateful for all the knowledge and
suggestions that he received from the family Stoykovich. Those suggestions have
helped him save his daughter. Short after I suggested him to leave Belgrade and
move with his daughter to the sea side, he did. And she, just like me 25 years
before, was healed by the help of sun, air, sea and home made food.
Many times people have said thanks for the suggestions and knowledge that I
gave them. But of all those thanks, Perica's thanks means most to
me. Of all the children I met who manage to beat cancer with right diet
and lifestyle, Liz was the youngest one, and she was the one I have forgotten
long ago.
I hope that Liz and her family will never again have to learn from the
Leukemia.
One More Leukemia Story
This is a story about my good friend Peter J.
I introduced him 1987, in Belgrade, when I first started attending seminars
and workshops on health food. That time he was already cured.
In his late forty's he was diagnosed with Leukemia.
Doctors who diagnosed him told him that he has less than 4 months of life.
He was told to go home and die.
He didn't want to die. He got a copy of
Michio Kushi's book
The Cancer
Prevention Diet.
That was the first Kushi's book translated into Serbo-Croatian Language.
He started with strict Macrobiotic diet and with weight lifting and Body
Building.
He eliminated from his diet: coffee, alcohol, milk, soft drinks.
He eliminated meat, milk products, sugar, tropical fruits, margarine,
preservatives and he started cooking his own foods.
He was lifting weights every day. He was totally cured in less than
4 months.
He did not used any of the western medicine treatments. So, instead of
being dead, he went back to his doctor, (the same doctor that told him to go
home and die) and the doctor made blood test. Results of blood test
showed that he was 100% healthy. His doctor did not believe that the
only therapy that he was doing was diet and weight lifting.
His story vas published in many Yugoslavian newspapers. The only
comment doctors had on his story was : "It was spontaneous remission", "It
has nothing to do with diet or with weight lifting" ...
We always have a good laugh when we talk about such ignorance from people who
are suppose to be specialized in healing and curing.
His story, and stories published in Michio Kushi's book "The
Cancer Prevention Diet.", as well as the story of
Anthony J. Satillaro have inspired
thousands of people in ex Yugoslavia to try this approach in curing cancer.
They were mainly learning from 3 books available in Serbo-Croatian language.
The first books translated in Serbo-Croatian language were books written by
Michio Kushi and by Dr.
Satillaro. Thanks to
those books, Macrobiotic movement in ex-Yugoslavia was a metaphor for "Cancer
Diet".
To understand it better, here is a small story about the first health food
seminar that Zlatko Pejic and Jadranka Boban were suppose to hold in Belgrade.
Few weeks before seminar they were told by organizers that there will be some
certain number of people on this seminar. Something like 50 or 60 people. When they came to hold seminar,
there was only one third of people that were suppose to come. When they
asked where are the others, the answer was:>They are dead.< For most of
the people, Health food was last thing to try, after nothing else worked.
After dozens of people managed to cure cancer by following Health food
macrobiotics diet, most doctors understood that "spontaneous remission" is not
good enough explanation, and that diet is important factor in curing cancer.
So, many of them started even recommending it, together with standard
therapies.
When my mother was diagnosed with breast tumor in 1989, her doctor did not
mind she try diet as therapy.
Petard J. died 1994, after Leukemia "returned". That year he was
working as salesman in the coffee shop, exposed to very strong smell of coffee.
He was not exercising any more. He started with drinking coffee. He forgot
his cancer prevention diet. He was emotionally down.
He thought that he is healthy enough to support some coffee and some bad
food. But he was not.
Disease did not give him a second chance. He died two months from the
moment he was diagnosed. Diet did not help. There was simply
not enough time. His body knew how to cure cancer, but this time he did
not have enough time.
But his example have inspired many people in curing and preventing diseases
and his life certainly had purpose.
This story is not unique. I have meet hundreds of people who
managed to cure all kind of cancers. Most of them are still alive. It is
also important to learn that if you once cure cancer, you have to be aware that
cancer can come back if your diet and lifestyle are not good enough.
Our body knows how to cure cancer, but only if we give
it a chance.
May your mind be filled with Wisdom...
May your eyes be filled with Beauty...
May your soul be filled with Peace...
May your heart be filled with Love...

and wisdom to know the difference."

but will interest his patients in the care of
the human frame,
in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease."
