The stomach has to have acid. Hydrochloric acid is the substance that the body makes to break down food and prepare it for digestion. There are situations where acid is a problem, but this is usually when the acid does not stay in the stomach, like Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)or when it seeps into the duodenum causing caustic ulcers. Recent research has shown that lack of stomach acid causes more problems. Lack of stomach acidity can allow the H.Pylori bacteria to flourish and cause stomach ulcers. Lack of acid can also create digestive and absorption problems because food is not reduced to small enough mass to continue to breakdown.
A healthy GI tract is slightly acid with a mucus mantle that is continuously replaced. The older mucus is eliminated regularly through the bowel. To try to become acid free or mucus free is not healthy, a proper balance is what's important. Blood should be slightly alkaline, other wise it will leach calcium from the bones to neutralize it. The stomach and even the urinary bladder need to be acid.
Cayenne tincture is great for improving circulation, my Naturopath even saved a stroke victims life by using cayenne on tongue patient's until the ambulance arrived.
Tincture is better than powder, but even the powder can be helpful.
