I'm no expert, but i think it comes down to letting go. Releasing resistance, negative emotions, feelings and things that hinder the natural flow. It's not easy this day in age, there's so much going on around us. That's why i think we need these tools, its about finding the best approach that resonates with you and believing in it.
Meditation, where ones mind is at peace, blank and not thinking of the troubles of the day can help you move in to a higher vibration. It's said that it is easier to let your mind go blank, free of chatter, than to continually think truely positive thoughts.
