I am curious whether marshmallow root and other high mucilage producing substances such as slippery elm would further hinder nutrient assimilation, or help it? I've seen conflicting information on the web but information is limited. Seems like something that should be considered since people with leaky gut and other digestive issues usually have malabsorption anyhow. Any ideas?
