You have taken my quote out of context, this quote was referring to the conservative politicians in my country that are whining because they don't think taxpayers should pay for people to be flown to the funerals of their children and other relatives, when they are refugees, being kept in detention.
As a taxpayer, I have no problem with my tax dollars used in a compassionate way, like most Australians. My heart goes out to the refugees that lost their loved ones. Refugees are human beings after all.
Who does "you people" refer to? The comments were mine, not a group comment. I do not favour the left or the right, I believe there are problems with both political ideologies, so I would appreciate you not trying to label me.
My view is a realistic one, if abortion is made unaffordable, or illegal, your country will be set back into the days of backyard abortions. This is reality. This is what was happening before abortion was made safe and legal, and this is what will happen if it is made unaffordable and illegal again. If an insurance company is willing to provide cover for abortions, than it is up to them, and the women who choose to take this cover, not the government, and not the right wingers.
Your suggestions are fantasy, there is already education on safe sex, but this has failed to stem the numbers of unwanted pregnancies. There is also the issue of rape, or incest, or where a pregnancy is a danger to the mother.
The majority of people do not share your view, that abortion is "killing your babies", this is why it is not illegal in your country, or in mine. And I would predict it will not become illegal in either country as well.
Its interesting how the right wingers want the government to control women's bodies, but not anyone else's lives, interesting, and very telling.
