Baking soda: the best treatment for seborrheic dermatitis
Forum: Seborrheic Dermatitis Forum
I have suffered from moderate seborrheic dermatitis on my face and chest for over a decade. Over this period of time I have tried ketoconazole, a number of other topical and oral antifungals, apple cider vingegar (topical and ingested), coconut oil (topical and ingested), probiotics, and more dietary restrictions and modifications than you could ever imagine. Unfortunately, nothing has cured my seb derm as it ultimately resurfaces. While dermatologists are a complete waste of time in this regard, I refuse to give up on a cure.
In the meanwhile, I wanted to share with the board that NOTHING manages the symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis better than topical baking soda! Applying a paste of baking soda and water and leaving it on over night completely eliminates the flakiness and itchiness and reduces most of the redness. While I hope to find the root cause of my seb derm someday, baking soda should be your best friend as it is by far the best treatment I have ever tried.
