Oregon! We had the luxury of picking where to move (though we did have to keep in mind back-up jobs). Yes, it's great, I'm not working a job right now, and no, I'm not moving anything into that moving truck. Thanks to CZ, though, I'm doing great in my pregnancy. I'm due in mid to late May. This is about the limit of when I'd want to do a big move :)
Things are pretty hairy, trying to line up the place we're buying (with 20 acres) and getting out of this rental house. I'm just so glad we're not selling a house in a different state at the same time. It's a bad time to sell in the Phoenix area, as I'm sure you've heard.
There are so many things I look forward to. Our water will be better, for one thing. There's a well, and it's tested far better (lower) than any city water on the major stuff. Then again, I don't know about bromides, though I know about the fluorides and free chlorine (not detectable). The house has CPVC pipe - I don't think there's any ideal house pipe, but Hulda Clark says PVC stops leaching after 2 weeks of installation. Better than copper pipe.
Stuff factoring into our decision: Willamette Valley, wine country, organic agriculture around, coast, mountains (skiing! snow!), beautiful landscapes in the area. We'll still be within driving distance of Portland and not too far from Salem. And now I'll add waterfalls :)
Gonna get started on the garden right away...and the chickens...and then the little dairy cow...
