I also tried UT but did not stick with it long enough to notice results for the hair. Now, I do UT via enemas.
For fixing my MPB, Iodine works at 12-16 drops daily. I used to shed 60-80 strands per day, the shower sink is full of hair. Now, I shed probably 10 strands, 20 max.
You may want to look into supplementing selenium (SeMC) and magnesium oxide, both has synergy with iodine. Go slow with the magnesium if you have weak kidneys. Check the Iodine forums for details.
VCO is good for the thyroid. I drink and OP with it.
If you have the extra motivation, do fresh urine enemas (link at upper of forum page). They are the magic bullet for some, when months of UT did not bring desired results.
The 5 Tibetan Rites (stretching yoga) helps prana (life force) assimilation via the chakras on the body. The physical aspect of chakras are the various organs and endocrine glands ie the throat chakra is the thyroid. It's easy to do and brings great energy and feeling of well being. Have a look before you try them.
