''aslanlight's q. but i have been reading that you want to avoid fat or oil for that matter because of the dampness they creat inside the body &''
Oil creating dampness?? Why would oil create more ''dampness'' than water? That sounds like voodoo to me. ;-D
The only thing we know for sure--facts based on lab experiments and not unsubstantiated rumors--about candida is that it feeds on Sugar and carbs. So that's what you should limit or eliminate from your diet if you have candida.
A number of Other claims regarding the candida diet seem to be quite controversial and/or totally unfounded, like vinegar, and all yeasts. Why should the yeast in brewer's yeast be bad for candida? In fact, some candida sufferers have seen their health improve by taking the yeast found in brewer's yeast, Saccharomyces boulardii.
I have read somewhere also that candida feeds on protein, so should we eliminate protein as well?
I Sugar and carbs are bad, oil is bad, protein is bad, what's left to eat?
let's be serious--total starvation is not required to control candida. Abstaining from Sugar and limiting carbs intake is the essence of the anticandida diet, and that should work. Plus eliminating allergenic foods of course.
