According to Canary club, headaches in A.F. are caused by blood pooling in the abdomen and not getting to the head. Your scalp massages are increasing the circulation there.
If you do not have high blood pressure, Veg, try a variant of the yoga posture The Reverse posture.

Do not stay in it for more than a minute at a time, though you can do it several times a day. In the future, you will be able to increase your time in this posture.
If this is, indeed, an issue of blood circulating to the head, you will feel some improvement very quickly, if you are able to relax in this position and keep your mind clear of any thoughts. Just breathe. Direct the blood to the head.
If you want, you can put a roll or pillow under your ankles and if your arms want to change at some point, you can put them straight out in front of you for a bit.
One thing good about this posture is that you can do it for as long as you want.
This is one of those things that you have to trust your instincts on. Add salt when water feels like it makes you more thirsty. Don't, when it feels good by itself. If you add too much your taste buds will say "gross!". Look for that juuuust right place. I pretty much add salt to my water all day, although sometimes I don't want it.
Again, if you are getting up to pee at night, I think
it is important to add salt to the water that you drink before bed.
And yes, you can drink too much water when you have AF. Tune up those listening ears. You can crash your sugars and salt by drinking too much.
Oh, how fun will be the day when just drinking water by itself is satisfying.... Sigh.
At least, of all the AF sypmtoms, this seems the easiest to rectify, at least in my opinion it is..., once you get the hang of it, of course.
I have had very bad headaches for the past 2 years since the onset of my adrenal fatigue. It has only been a few months since I found out I had adrenal fatigue.
There are different types of headaches, with different causes and that are addressed differently. The first thing you need to do is to determine the type of headache so better suggestions can be made as to how to address them. Migraine, sinus, cluster, tension.......
Do you have hypothyroidism? I do and it's giving me headaches as well. When my adrenal fatigue was starting out I had the worst menstrual headaches they were so painful. I think that may have been due to aldosterone. It's at it's lowest during the menstrual cycle in a woman I think I read.
One thing I have read that really works is Celery juice. Maybe you could try this?
Step #1. Go to chiropractor make sure nothing is out of alignment.
Step#2. Try H202 therapy. If the blood vessels are constricting in the brain then this will fix it.
Step#3. Take dessicated liver tablets from Natures life. If its a small defeciency in Iron or other vital minreals and nutrients this would be an easy fix. Many athletes take 1 to 10 pounds of body weight. Very safe. Google info on this.
Step#4. Take RELIV. They don't claim its a cure all, But I sure do. Its healed me of so many things its unbelievable. And people that have taken it for Cluster headaches, MS, CFS, IBS, Insomnia, and numerous other things were cured. Well let me rephrase this... It doesn't cure you but gives your body what it needs to cure itself.
All these things should be done with a healthy diet (Tons of info on this website for what a healthy diet is) and an exercise regimine. Anyways thought I would drop the little knowledge I have acquired over the years of battling ridiculous health problems when no doctors could help me. God bless =)
I believe I have sub-clinical hypothyroidism. My results from the NHS show slightly elevated TSH. I need no medication for my thyroid. I've not had any tests taken to show rT3 levels but I have a feeling my hypothyroidism is caused by rT3.
Still, I can't do anything about the thyroid until I sort my sleep and adrenals out.
One tip for sodium regulation/dysregulation - avoid potassium-rich food.
I remember in the beginning (before I knew I had sub-clinical hypoaldosteronism), I used to use Celery juice to replenish my electrolytes. I noticed that anything like nettle tea/soup would make me dehydrated and just put it down to a diuretic effect. Only with the onset of the other problems and chronic dehydration did I realise the reality of AF.
Ultimately, Celery juice is 2 potassium to 1 sodium, so it would not be as effective as unrefined Sea Salt in water.
Maybe you could dose Sea Salt up to a specific BP reading, if you want to get metric. I found that I was overdosing on salt sometimes - possibly because I'm not as intuitive when hypervigilant.
Do you know anything about copper toxicity? Copper overload from adrenal exhaustion (adrenals tell liver to bind copper for removal) can cause unusable copper accumulation, which can affect brain function (insomnia, racing thoughts, headache/migraine).
If it's hormonal, mostly before your period, a tiny bit of DHEA will work wonders. I took 1/4 of a 25 mg tablet when I got severe headaches before my period and they went away. I stopped taking it when I got my period and it was a true life saver.
Why don't you try consuming fishoil? I used to have very bad headaches but after I consumed fishoil supplements, the headaches are gone and I am more relaxed...It's the best natural cure for headache as it controls your mood, cures depression and strengthens your brain..
I have the same thing and found using a powdered Magnesium will help me get through the migraine and also helps with the constipation. Actually being constipated is a precursor to the migraine. I did notice that the scalp muscles are contracting and that is the cause of the headache and afterwards my scalp will be very tender. I've noticed that fasting will cause me to get the headaches as will the smallest bit of overexertion (minimal sweating?). I've considered electrolyte depletion but also hypoglycemia as well.
I have thyroid nodules (hyperthryoid) also which I can't cure because I can't fast.
The only solution I've had for the headaches is to prevent them by taking ashwagandha before sleeping at night. The minimum amount I need to take is 2 Himalayan organic ashwagandha tablets. If I exercised that day, I need to take up to 7 tablets both to sleep okay and also to not have a horrible headache the next day. Since the herb reduces cortisol, it makes me think the headaches are caused by too high cortisol levels so that your body is under stress during the night and you aren't actually resting.
Ok so this whole BS ordeal started since the beginning of this year and nothing is working for me! I keep having heart palpitations almost nonstop, if I sit still and try to relax I can feel my head and upper body vibrating b/c of the heart pounding/thumping feeling (I have normal range pulse). it's so annoying and disruptive it's pissing me off
there were a few days during the holidays when I ate caffeine foods (dark chocolate, coffee beans etc). I've never been much of a caffeine consumer, only some chocolate here and there, otherwise I never drink coffee or take stimulants
I've never had adverse reactions to caffeine before except maybe slightly noticeable heartbeat and feelings of bliss/contentment.
then eventually last year there were a couple days where I probably consumed 'too much' caffeine & developed panic attack symptoms for the first time in the evening (I'm a slow caffeine metabolizer). symptoms like pounding heart, tight chest/throat, shakiness/chills. It happened twice last year and after those symptoms went away I was normal again, calming down helped
however on the new year I again consumed too much caffeine again plus a margarita one day (I think I'm sensitive to it as well) and had the worst time ever that evening, panic attack symptoms, awake all night, afraid to fall asleep, afraid of dying/having a heart attack, just in fear and terror. my blood pressure fluctuated a lot, however my pulse was in normal range. this lasted over 24 hours. eventually this subsided but ever since that horrible day/night I never fully recovered from this anymore! drinking lots of water didn't work. one time I woke up with anxiety attack symptoms again for no reason, and had an elevated pulse too for a moment (115 bpm). now I'm getting these anxiety attack symptoms for "no reason" or out of the blue
I was also frequently angry/frustrated about something during that time so it must've been stress + caffeine combined
On and off I'm getting symptoms of tightness in chest or collarbone region, but mostly heart palpitations (pounding feeling)....same anxiety attack symptoms but for no reason! they seem to happen more in the evening/night. I tried: Epsom Salt footbath, magnesium supplements, Iodine food (seaweed), sublingual B12, accupressure massage on the wrists, heart mudra, just trying to get my vitamins etc etc but NOTHING is stopping my palpitations.
I think they're from underlying stress/anxiety...but I've always been anxious/Type A and never in my life had these symptoms until this year ever since that one horrible 24+ hour panic episode.

I'm curious can a caffeine induced panic episode cause 'damage' with heart function? during my all night panic my highest ever BP I measured was 170/110, but also fluctuated down to 100 lowest systolic & 53 diastolic while trying to calm down..my BP was pretty erratic. I was told by ND this is due to electrolyte/brain chemical imbalance or something. however my pulse was normal range mostly 60-80 bpm. my typical 'normal' BP has always been around 100/60 range
I've been tested before both by conventional doctor tests and & by two naturopaths and they all found my liver is normal. I don't feel there's a problem there, unlike my mother who has multiple chemical sensitivities and fat digestion issues.
I do know I'm a slow caffeine metabolizer, found out through a genetic test my sister took, we're twins

I'm not critical of anything above but I suspect you are reading too much into the results.
I would not expect your liver results--enzymes-- on typical blood tests to be problematic. I'm not refering to that type of liver problem.

I suspect it is somewhat like a person who complains that their diswasher is not cleaning dishes well. They get the electrician in and he says the dishwasher is fine--from an electrical standpoint.
A repairman from the manufacturer comes in and says the machine is not breaking down mechanically--like the liver enzymes test.
However the problem with the inadequately washed dishes is that you are not adding dish washing detergent! That is a chemistry problem, not problem with the electrical system or mechanical functions of the diswasher.
I'm suggesting that you could be deficient in normal, helpful chemicals that your liver needs to detoxify natural and other chemicals that tend to amp us up. This includes sulfate, methyl donors, etc.
I'm not pretending to know that this is your problem. I'm just sharing leads with you that I've heard from others, from my own experience and from the theoretical chemistry.
I'm surprised that the naturopath did not discuss sulfation, methylation and other Phase II liver processes with you.
Acetylation might be the Phase II process involved in breakdown of caffeine. I too have that problem and it runs in the family.
These symptoms are also the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Have your furnace checked and consider that you may have an exhaust leak in your car.
You can't smell it or see carbon monoxide. Constant exposure to even small amounts does long term damage.
Try to correlate when the symptoms occured and what you did and what you were around in the 24 hours before the symptoms. The only treatments I know of is oxygen and hyperbaric treatments.
A DX can test for the CO in your blood but it is painful. They take a blood sample by sticking a syringe deep into your wrist to sample the arterial blood. Hurts like a bitch but it would be your only confirmation.
It was the only time in my life I ever experienced panic attacks.
Sorry to say that most DX don't think of it. It would have killed me if I hadn't figured it out myself.

I tried Magnesium oil but found each time that I got the tight chest/anxiety and palpitations still after using it. It had the opposite effect on me as supposed to relaxing. I've looked around online and apparently there are other people out there who experienced the same and I have no idea why.

1/ I would outline any changes in environment such as some of things mentioned previously such as carbon monoxide, new carpet, new furniture, changes in water supply, medications if any. You have some type of toxicity in the system setting off the adrenals.
2/ The adrenals respond to any change in homeostatis and are an integral part in keeping the body in balance. Under normal conditions the body can keep itself in balance but if there are excessive stresses or inadequate nutrient intake then there are changes and these changes force the adrenals to pump out more hormones.
If you lack adequate output of the adrenals then things start going wrong.
3/ Electrolytes are vital to the body and include magnesium, potassium, sodium and chloride. The cardio and adrenals share these elements in common so if you having adrenal issues then cardio could be affected.
