The thing with baby shampoo is that even though it is advertised as gentle, it contains harsh chemicals that may do you harm.
For a fungal sinus infection, I would suggest colloidal silver. Colloidal silver is effective against all types of pathogens, including fungus. You can take it internally, and use it as nosedrops.
I've had a sinus irritation of what I suspect is of the fungal origin, for the past 9 months..Along with many other crazy symptoms. I have tried all the sinus sprays, antihistamines, and rinses out there and nothing has provided any relief. Started using GSE yesterday and I think it may have loosened things up a bit. I also have heard that the reason a fungal infection in sinuses is persistant and hard to get rid of is becuz of the biofilm that is hard to penetrate, thus nothing you use actually gets to the infection..So in my hours and hours of endless research I have found this interesting, possible remedy and wondered if anyone has tried it..Several sights claim that there is an ingredient in baby shampoo that will penetrate the biofilm of a fungal infection, it is added to the baby bath and baby shampoo to aid in the prevention of craddle cap, which is suspected to be of a fungal origin as well. Makes sense, right? So it says to add a few drops to your saline rinse and irrigate as ususally..I am trying it tonight for sure, will post results afterwards..Keeping fingers crossed as if this works it will be a huge relief both physically and finacially..
You should take a look at this thread on GSE. It is not as natural or safe as being claimed:
I have a post on dealing with sinus infections here:
If you want to deal with biofilms add a little yucca root extract to the probiotic mix. The yucca root is a surfactant so it will deal with the biofilm and it is also antifungal.
Scared to ever take an antibiotic after the clindomyacin made the inside of my mouth and throat feel like the mucus had come alive and was gonna crawl out my mouth any minute, and the skin crawling was horrifying..Couldnt sleep for two nights after one dose!!
Sounds like you were allergic to the antibiotic.
I am new to the whole "natural" healing process and honestly never ever thought I would give up my mountain dew, sugar, and little debbie cakes!
The Mountain Dew in particular would increase your allergies due to the high level of caffeine. Caffeine puts the adrenals in to overtime working causing them to get tired and weaken. This leads to allergies among other things:
I just keep telling myself that there must be a reason all this has happened..Like I am being prepared for well, who knows what..But I do no one thing..I'd rather be edjucated than medicated any day!! I read your post about acidoph...and would like to know what you think of the C.Silver some use for sinus issues??
I have never been a big fan of silver. Most of the products on the market contain very little silver and/or are not true colloids. And the machines with the three 9V batteries DO NOT form true colloids, which is why they form a gray mud on the container bottom after sitting for a while. So the only way I would use silver is if I made my own colloidal silver. And even with that the last time I did this was about 14 years ago when I cut the about half of my last digit of my thumb off with a table saw. A doctor friend had told me about silver impregnated nylon being used to heal amputated parts. The silver is driven in to the tissues with electrical currents. He only had a small sample though so I improvised. First I made a really strong colloidal silver solution that I soaked the stub in first. Then based on some research I heard from some other friends using high voltage and argon to regenerate tissue I used a 15KV transformer hooked up to a neon photospectrometer tube. After soaking the stub in the colloidal silver solution I would turn the transformer and put the stub up to the neon tube with the high voltage running through it, which killed the pain and helped drive the silver in to the tissues. It took 6 months, but I was able to grow the whole end of the thumb back. That was the last time I used the silver though. I prefer herbs and ozone to silver.
Oh and Lugol's iodine?? any thoughts thanks
Again not a big fan of Lugol's. I know a lot of people on CZ love it, but it does come with risks. Especially for people that also have Hashimoto's thyroidosis, since excess iodine can aggravate this condition.
In addition both silver and iodine will kill off the good bacteria that inhabit the sinus cavity that help to control pathogens.
Hydrogen peroxide will burn and damage your sinuses at any percentage and is not worth the agony. I know, I've done it.
The very best method of sinus clearing is to use a Neti pot (they are very cheap) and add from 1/2 to a full teaspoon of sea salt along with a drop of tea tree oil. That will produce the most gentle and longest lasting sinus cleanse you can get. Many formulas suggest a full teaspoon of salt but I've found that to be too abrasive and I've found that sea salt is the most natural feeling that you can use. You can also use more tee tree oil if you feel that one drop isn't enough but the main point is, start out cautiously until you find your own level of comfort. Water without the salt will be very uncomfortable so it's a requirement.
I've used the above method for bad colds and just plain sinus problems and it was recommended to me by my own medical doctor.
I am Sinus infection free and have not had a Sinus infection since about 2002.
I have still not had another sinus infection. I used to get sinus infections, one after another, for many years, until I discovered how to use hydrogen peroxide to permanently cure me of nasty, painful, miserable sinus infections!
Basically, I use peroxide to protect the infection-damaged areas, within my sinuses/nasal passages, from reinfecting until those infection-damaged areas are totally healed and resistant to infection.
Just wanted to provide an update.
You need to have a culture taken and have it analyzed/raised in a lab. If your ophthalmologist won't do it, find someone who will, perhaps an internist. That should give a definitive cause. Until you get it diagnosed you're chasing unknown territory. Since I've practiced urine therapy for many years almost all of my eye problems have disappeared and even my glaucoma pressure has subsided. I've also used a clean eye wash cup and rinsed my eyes with my own fresh urine. There's a bit of a sting at first, but then a refreshing cleanse. "Murine" is urine/urea with an M added. Don't knock it. Fresh urine is an antiseptic. It has cured my athlete's foot of many years standing and other skin problems as well.
