I have been dealing with this issue for years and actually had the gland removed during surgery some years back. Unfortunatly, the problems has started with the other gland. I had it drained once (which is very painful) and when it reoccured and I asked my doctor to have it removed, he stated that he did not feel this was necessary. The cyst is the size of a male testicule and it has been this size for almost a year. I am going to try Phoebe's method again(tried it once in the beginning and it was very painful). I want this gone and if this does not work, I will beg my doctor to have it removed. It is embarrassing and sometimes I feel as if I have done something wrong so it is so nice to hear other women who are going through similar experiences. I will let people know how it works out.
Hi. I have had reoccuring cysts over the past 20 years. I have had them drained in the past, but the last few I have let it run it's course. This last time I'm not quite sure if it was infected or not. It was about the size of a walnut and really uncomfortable. I tried everything. The calamine, witch hazel, tea tree mix. Homepathic, everything. This time I was doing the whole30 cleanse. No sugar, grains or dairy. I'm pretty sure that is why it never got too big or painful. But it seemed to linger longer than ever. about 3 weeks. Anyway, I was doing sitz baths but it never helped. At the very least it felt good. I guess I was lazy about buying epsom salt, so I didn't use it until the very end. I picked up some Dr. Teals form the super market. The detox/energizer one with ginger and clay. So I soaked in it for about 20 min and went over to my boyfriends house. Woke up at 3 AM and felt wet. It drained!!!! It was reddish pink. Anyway, I continued to soak and kept it very clean. Haven't had sex yet since he left for a 10 day trip the next day. So it gave me plenty of time to let it heal. It didn't drain much after that at all. I pretty much sqeezed it all out. It felt like it was there still a tiny bit, but not bothering me at all. I feel like it's always just there a little waiting to rear it's ugly head. But I soaked in that same epsom salt this morning and i noticed later in the afternoon I was feeling it again. I went to the bathroom and noticed some pink on the tissue. It was draining again. I jumped in the tub with some more epsom salt and sqeezed it all out. And now it's completely gone. So, I think that epsom salt is the answer to my prayers. I'm going to continue to soak in that at least once a week or post sex for sure to help it drain. It's amazing. I found it the cheapest at Walmart. I ordered 10 bags! I also truly believe for me that I get these when I'm not being honest about my feelings or feeling guilty. I think there is a huge emotional component to this. So soak in this and resolve and process your issues. And hopefully we will all be free of this beast! Does anyone know why there is blood when it drains?
This website has been so helpful for me and I have scoured the internet looking for a fix, so I thought I'd try to share the love and share with you what is working for me. I have been dealing with these for about 2 years now. I have had two abcessed ones - and I don't wish that pain upon anyone. It was the worst, most uncomfortable time of my life. I have my third one at the moment. I had the second one drained and a word catheter put in and it went away for over a year but it came back a few weeks ago around menstruation and it has slowly been growing but thankfully not infected. It was about the size of a large marble / grape on the inside and had been getting bigger and smaller in waves. I am going on vacation in 2 weeks so I am desperate to get rid of it before I go away. I do not want an abcess on vacation!!
I tried Phoebe's method and sadly it didn't work for me, (1 oz calamine lotion, 1 tsp tea tree oil & 1 tsp witch hazel on a cotton pad for 1 hour). But I am having success (finally!) using Lavender oil, tea tree oil, sitz baths with Epsom salt, hot compresses, and turmeric poultices as well as turmeric capsules.
I have been taking 4 turmeric capsules a day with milk, and the swelling has gone down dramatically. I have also taken many sitz baths in as warm water as possible with about half a cup of epsom salt. I have also been wearing loose clothing and not anything restrictive.
Try to keep the area clean, have good hygiene, don't touch it too much, and keep your hands clean if you do. I recommend good hygiene and good diet - try to cut down sugar which sometimes feeds infections. What is also helping me is a cotton pad soaked with Chamomile tea, tea tree oil and lavender oil directly on the cyst, and I use a pantiliner to hold it there for about an hour. I have also taken a detox bath with 2 cups epsom salt and 1 cup of baking powder for 40 minutes and this felt really great to rid my body of toxins and sweat out all the junk. I also have a heating pad that I apply whenever I can't be in the bath. It has been feeling like it is leaking ever so slightly, and it has reduced in size dramatically.
Most importantly - it is shrinking in size, I have kept it from getting infected, and am able to carry about my normal routine, which is most important.
I really hope this advice helps someone - please let me know if it helped you. And if you have any questions or anything to add please do!
:) Health and Happiness to all!
All cysts are the result of iodine deficiency. Iodine is required by every cell in the body, especially for women. Men only suffer hypothyroid & prostate problems from iodine deficiency.
Iodine deficiency results in the following diseases:
* Hormonal problems
* FibroCYSTic breast disease, painful lumps & bumps
* Skin Cysts
* Ovary Cysts (PolyCYSTic Ovary Syndrome)
* Uterus cysts, fibroids & endo, cycle problems
* Brain Fog
Long term prevention - Take the Dr. Brownstein Iodine Protocol:
Short term: Paint over the cyst with 2% Lugols Iodine, if painting over the same spot every day, please cover with an oil after painting to prevent dermatitis, so for example after painting the nipple area with iodine for FBD, cover with an oil such as grape seed oil, olive oil or coconut oil.
Lugols 2% iodine available at Amazon.Com is recommended.(5% lugols might sting very sensitive skin)
Iodine deficiency is a national crises among women. Read the book, "The Iodine Crisis: What You Don't Know About Iodine Can Wreck Your Life"

So bottom line-never suffer from cysts & iodine deficiency symptoms again,
If I had the cyst situation you have, I would use the below information to approach a cure:
As "grist for your mill," are you aware of the almost miraculous results many tens (hundreds?) of thousands of people have experienced, dealing with most of the physical health issues known to humankind, from ingesting the universally powerful antioxidant, ascorbic acid?
If you are seriously interested in finding a solution to your health problem(s), 188, and gaining better health in all areas of your body, I encourage you to read [at least the first ten paragraphs of] this article, written by Dr. Robert Cathcart, M.D.
It has a very good chance of solving your health issue(s). You have only better health to gain by applying its recommendation. What have you got to lose?
These three quotes are instructive:
"There are more than ten thousand scientific papers that make it quite clear that there is not one body process (such as what goes on inside cells or tissues) and not one disease or syndrome (from the common cold to leprosy) that is not influenced - directly or indirectly - by vitamin C." -- Dr. Emanuel Cheraskin, M.D., Dr. Marshall Ringsdorf, D.M.D., and Dr. Emily Sisley, THE VITAMIN C CONNECTION.
"The evidence unequivocally shows that mega-gram doses of vitamin C can prevent and cure a vast list of conditions that plague mankind. It is both inexpensive and completely safe. My conclusion: vitamin C is the 'Primal Panacea.'" -- Dr. Thomas E. Levy, M.D. (You may care to look up the definitions of “primal” and [particularly] “panacea”).
“I have never seen a patient that Vitamin C would not benefit.” -- Dr. Frederick Klenner, M.D.
I wish you the best of success, 188, in your search for better health! If you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns about ascorbate/vitamin C therapy, please post them here and/or feel free to contact me privately.
P.S. In addition to oral ascorbic acid, 188, I would use topical ascorbate [paste] on the cyst as well.
I want to share what worked for me. I had been suffering for over 10 years with cysts. I had tried everything, even surgery and they kept coming back.
About a year ago I found a book called "the Bartholin Cyst Miracle Method" and it was the only thing in 10 years that actually made my cyst go away. I have been cyst free for over a year now.
My friend recently started having cysts and when she told me about it I gave her the book. It worked for her too. She told me to share this with other women so here I am. I don't remember where I got the book but I think you can find it at Amabam or Google "Bartholin Cyst Miracle Method" and it will come up.
Good Luck ladies!
I've never had one of these, but I've had cysts on my outer labia before (felt like a small bead under the skin). I've had success with just squeezing the cysts to get them to drain. I just press on the cyst from front and back of the labia. Sure it hurts, but usually with in a few tries and no more than a few seconds, it pops, the pus and blood drains and the pressure and tenderness is gone. I don't know if you can do this to your cyst, but since no one has replied, I thought I'd at least tell you about my experience with cysts.
