Hello. I am thyroid patient,currently on Iodine protocol: 50 mg Lugol's iodine,
400 mg selenomethionine,
Zn 25 mg,
c vitamin 2000-3000 mg,
Mg citrate 1300mg.
B vitamin complex with all b vitamins RDV amount.
D vitamin 5 000 units.
1/2 spoon salt with water.
I am taking them in the morning during the breakfast and spliting Iodine throughout the day.
My thyroid hormones and antibodies are in normal range (in the middle of range). Ferritine is in the upper level of the range. My D vitamin was around 20 mg/l. I have nodules and cysts in the thyroid both side,one side bigger.
I had Sugar addiction but I am managing it so I guess Candida Overgrowth can be culprit too.
Also I am gluten and lactose sensitive. I am on very low calorie diet around 1400-1600 as when I get more calories I have issues with concentration. Managing fatigue with good rest and exercise.
Symptoms that bother me:
I have severe hair loss,scalp and hair is dry,itchy.
Time to time my thyroid feels strained and bit painful. Lump seen on the neck sometimes shrinks bit but after comes again but does not disappear.
Should I add something into my protocol, or increase doses of any companions or iodine/selenium?

Take selenomethionine separately from zinc, as they interfere with each other. You may want to take magnesium in split doses, with the larger amount at night. It peaks in serum about 3:30 a.m.
Would you say what your actual ferritin level was, with the units of measure and the range? Was there any test of serum iron? Hair loss can be from both low iron and low thyroid. Low iron could happen when it's sequestered in ferritin and not as available for use.
Be generous with how much fat you eat, modest with protein, and skimpy with carbs. Don't count calories. Let your body feel nourished and cared for. You would benefit from high-fat fishes such as salmon and sardines, including fish oils and cod liver oil. In fact, cod liver oil would give you additional Vitamins D and A. Fish oil on the inside is a blessing for skin on the outside.
Take a morning temperature before you get out of bed for 5 days or so. Best is a manual thermometer held under your tongue for 10 minutes. You want to see 97.8-98.2 F or 36.6-36.8 C. Later in the afternoon is when it's nice to see 98.6 F or 37 C.

A serum iron might help you know how well your copper stores are helping to bind iron for transport to the cells. For instance, a high serum iron with a good ferritin would indicate copper needed work. You might have adequate levels of copper, but it doesn't work right if it's out of balance with zinc. Serum levels of copper and zinc work best in a ratio of copper/zinc 0.7-1.0/1.0.
Regardless, between iron and thyroid, it appears that thyroid is the more likely culprit in your hair loss.
You asked about your protocol, and I think it looks good. I wouldn't mess with it before being sure your thyroid health is being addressed optimally. I regret to say that I needed thyroid hormone after all.

Please don't consider raising selenium to 800 mcg without knowing you need it. I never took more than 200 mcg, yet after several years of it my blood level was close to being too high. I stopped it for awhile and am now back on it. Soils vary considerably in their selenium content. Stay on 200 mcg and take all the Iodine you need. I'm 17 old and rarely feel any hunger (it's been like that for months) - I'm also out of school for this week, so I thought this week would be the ideal time to begin a 30 water fast (since the few days of ketosis have always made me feel physically weaker.)

It is great that you want to fast and you are just 17. This first week, when you are off from school will be easy for fasting, but later on it will be very hard, especially that you are underweight.
There are a few things that you may do besides fasting. You are probably not hungry because your stomach lacks good amount of acid. Try the acid test (google it) and see if you lack acid. If you do not have good acid then apple cider vinegar, lemon juice and some Sea Salt mixed in some water before meals will help. You will also benefit from Betaine HCL tablets.
Cholesterol is a big myth in this country partly created by doctors and drug companies. Your body produces cholesterol because your brain needs it. It may be producing more because you are not eating good fats and your liver function is compromised.
Fast away, but be careful, take one day at a time. Drink water only and rest.

But by the end you end up a stinking rotting barely walking corpse that looks clinically anorexic and shod be tube fed. It's not a good look and there are much better ways to gain appetite . I would try a series of three ten day fasts with at least 20 days refeeding in between. Or try doing good hard work, increase your physical activity, add some cardiovascular exercise, and your metabolic rate would thus increase, and your body would require more fuel. Calculate your daily macros and aim for those calories, increasing as needed. There are many online tools for doing this.
Even if you only manage a few mouthfuls each meal - that's completely fine! Have 6 sml snack/meals, and make each mouthful extremely nutritious. If you have three mouthfuls at breakfast, aim for 3 at morning tea and at least 4-5 at lunch. Make your food calorie dense: egs are tahini and nuts and nut spread, avocado, raw honey and molasses, raw organic grassfed butter, raw coconut oil, dates and other dry fruit. These are highly concentrated foods that the body only needs small amounts but have dense nutrition.
Be relaxed, happy, peaceful when eating. Let go and release everything to God/ the power/universe and eat from a contented heart knowing that you are giving your body it's rights...
Eat what you need.
Take it from somebody who did this: it can be very hard to recover after a hecticly over-done fast when being underweight. Family will have a fit and can accuse of eating disorders, and one needs to start over from scratch if the body is too too depleted and needs to gain muscle mass all over again.

Okay, so a little background:
I'm new to this forum and found it when searching through Google for Mc support. I've attempted The Master Cleanse twice already. The first time I got to day 2 and caved and the second time I got to day 5 and caved. This was all within 2 wks. I just broke my 5 day cleanse yesterday and ate all day today as well. I plan to drink a juice for dinner and start tomorrow. Both times I ended the cleanse it was the wrong way and I ended up binging and then purging. I'm trying to do the cleanse to overcome my bulimia and addictive eating patterns in general. Could be that laetrile (apricot seeds) have been responsible, though normally laetrile is fairly slow acting. Just a thought: you might try adding some inositol/IP6 and colloidal silver - as that combo seems to be a good one for eliminating tumors/tumor like masses. If it were me, I would also consider curcumin and N-Acetyl Cysteine as well as changes to a healthy diet and lifestyle if needed. And if you do get a definite diagnosis of cancer, there is more still you may wish to do.
I will say one thing: do not rely on apricot seeds alone for your mother-in-law. Laetrile has been widely ballyhooed - and I like it - but the reality is that, while it can be effective, it is far from universally effective and most studies which found effectiveness found that it was most effective when used in combination with other cancer fighting items, such as supplements, diet, lifestyle, etc.

I bought apricot kernels. After you crack open the pit there's a kernel. It's bitter. But I hear it is very bitter if taken out of the pit yourself after eating the fruit. I'm not aware that "all" seeds have a little cyanide. I'll check that out. From what i'm reading, the cyanide is locked in until a particular enzyme hits it and releases it. that enzyme is said to be coated on the cancer cells.
Guys/gals there's a great book i'm reading now about laetrile. it's said to be the only "authorized" book on the subject from the point of it's actual developers. (as laetrile) I'll get the exact name of the book when i get home. It's really a good read and it's amazing so far how much work was put into trying to get this out to everyone.
