I feel so done with this fast. I feel tired and weak daily and still hungry, though it's a weird hunger. Almost like hunger but I've forgotten what it means. I'm on day 20 or 21.
They say after three weeks is when massive healing happens right? My breath is horrendous & I just got itchy again which is one of the reasons I've been fasting, to rid myself of the intense itching from possible Histamine Intolerance . The last three days I lost no weight one day to 1 lb the next where it had been 2/day.
I don't know why I thought it would get easier. I'm having troubles focusing. Maybe I just need rest? I planned to go another 7 days to get all that intense healing I've heard about. Just needed someone non judgmental about the fast to talk to. My kids are also worried. I don't want to quit early. I don't think I'll be doing this again for a very long time so I want the full benefits this time around.
You are doing fine. Yes, rest is very important. You can apply coconut oil on your skin to stop itching. ACV works too, I have used both, coconut oil is better, not stinging and smells good.
Drink warm water as per thirst. Do some deep abdominal breathing, soak your feet in Epsom Salt and Hydrogen-Peroxid mix in warm water in a bucket. You could also take a bath in that mix for half hour everyday. Apply Castor oil on your liver side of your tummy.
Scrape your tongue for cleaning the gunk. You can also gargle with H2O2.
You have done a great job thus far, especially with kids to deal with, don't
Thank you. You're always so supportive. I appreciate that. I got guilted today by my one daughter who has an eating disorder that this is triggering her so it's been extra tough mentally. I told her I've got to put myself first now. It's for my health. She's a young adult and I realize I've got to focus on my own health & diet rather than hers. I want to be celebrating this because it's a huge accomplishment for me even so far. It's a reset as well on everything including my relationship with food that had been screwed up. It's a new beginning.
I had some broth my daughter has been cooking all day. My tummy was growling and finally after 20+ days, I gave in. My tummy was aching. Should I continue on to complete the days I planned to go till or is it pointless now?
Why did you do this? I had a large number of food allergies/sensitivities and my food choices were extremely limited. I did not do this to lose weight. I did it to heal my body.
What did you weigh when you started your fast? 97 lbs.
How much weight did you lose? I lost a total of 15 lbs.
Did you gain back the weight you lost? Yes, within about 6 months I gained back all the weight I lost during my fast.
Now that almost two years have passed since your fast, are you still able to eat all the things you were previously allergic to? Yes!
Why did you have to be carried to the lecture? On that particular day, I was extremely nauseous and each time I tried to stand up I felt like I was going to be sick. However, I still really wanted to attend Dr. Graham's lecture that day, so I was carried into the lecture room where I was able to lie down and still listen.
What kind of skin problems did you have? I had major acne issues as well as hives
What were you allergic/sensitive to? All acid fruits, some sub-acid fruits and most greens including celery, lettuce and fresh herbs
You only drank water, no food at all for 13 days? That is correct
Did you exercise during your fast? No, exercise should be avoided during a water fast. Your body needs all of it's usable energy for healing which is why you don't eat food. Digestion takes a lot of energy and by not eating, your body can use that valuable energy to heal all areas of the body that need healing. It is best to rest as much as physically possible during your fast. Sleeping a lot is good.
How much water did you drink? Enough water that I was peeing clear 8-12 times per day
I want to fast now. Is it safe to fast at home? Fasting is a very serious healing modality. It is not to be taken lightly. I highly recommend a supervised fast with an experienced fasting expert. Fasting should not be done alone without guidance.
*The way you break your fast is crucial to your success! This is why fasting with an experienced fasting expert is also very important. Eating the wrong thing after fasting could have MAJOR health consequences. Do not take this process lightly.
