Hi. I have like 3 r 4 external hemroids. I am not sure what to do about them because from what Ive heard you really cant do much. I have tried all of the OTC creams and such, and none of them have worked. Is there really anything that WORKS?? Ive also tried some homeopathic remedies and such. I am only 21, and extremely embarrassed about it. I am afraid that a sexual will think I have herpes or something. Whats even worse it that I think I also have IBS so that irritates them even more. I have had them since I was 15, and I dont understand why. I mean even if I could shrink them that would be nice.. Any suggestions??
I can tell you the only way to rid yourself of hemorrhoids is surgery. It doesn't take a mensa to figure out that the cure probably is worse than the problem. It's not going to be a fun time after having someone cut those veins out to go to the bathroom for quite awhile.
I do have a remedy that does not involve digesting pills into your system that could make matters worse or cutting your body up and risking infection.
The first thing you need to do is figure out what caused the flair up. For most people who have this problem it is a wee bit too much alcohol and/or some form of fitness. Any type of activity that makes you dehydrate (take water out of) the body. Your body reacts to this by sending more acid to break down your food. You walk into the bathroom and you have a burning sensation upon relieving yourself. Some people end up with loose stools while others are still constipated. The more you venture to the bathroom the worse it gets. Your either pushing too hard because you're constipated or this stuff is ripping out of you. Either way you have the same result. The pain increases and the blood in those veins is literally drying up and adding to the pain caused by the excess acid.
So, the first thing you want to do is start drinking water and do it slowly. If you gulp down 8 ounces of water your just going to pee out most of it. Sip it. This will reintroduce fluid into the body and assist in digesting your food.
Go to the local drug store and ask for a sitz bath. If someone is nosey and asks why just tell them your wife just had a baby. Most women always use a sitz bath after delivery. It looks a bit like a derby. Now here is what you do...After you've relieved yourself put very warm water in the sitz bath. Not so hot that you burn yourself but it should be a little uncomfortable. Put the toilet seat up and place the sitz bath on the toilet itself (it should come with instructions). Make sure you have a towel within reach. Gently sit down on it and stay there for 5 minutes. At the 4 minute mark reach in the bath with your hand and clean yourself off. At 5 minutes get up and dry yourself off and thoroughly wash your hands. Now grab a dry face cloth and go to the fridge and get 2 ice cubes and place them in the cloth. Go to your room and place the cloth with the 2 ice cubes in it right up against your anus. Yes, it's going to be uncomfortable, deal with it. Hold the cloth in there for 5 minutes. Under no circumstances should you ever place ice directly on the body. Now repeat the procedure 3 more times until you done a total of 4, 20 minutes on the sitz bath and 20 minutes with ice. At the end of the first day you will feel a dramatic result. Keep doing this until everything is totally healed. It normally takes about a day and a half and don't forget to keep drinking the water.
I would try EVERYTHING before surgery. amoils has an essential oil that has reduced mine 80%. just praying for it to totally go. stress can cause them too. There are a lot of different products out there. this doctor had them too and cured himself and he was bad he sayes...
(not sure where his story is but stress relief and oils for sofer poo helped him...lots of info on there anyway) http://askwaltstollmd.com/wwwboard/wwwboard.html
Surgeries aren't as bad as they used to be. There are great minimal-inavsive operations now. Much less pain and fast healing. Of course you should try other treatment options first but ask your doctor about methods such as THD. It's at least a long term solution. I had mine coming and going for years before I went for surgery....
External hemorrhoids form from veins that surround the anus. These veins, for reasons not fully understood, weaken in some people, causing a bulge to form. The bulge then pushes out and appears as a lump, either just outside or just inside the anal verge.
Once formed, external hemorrhoids, are sensitive to pressures, either externally applied (such as excessive sitting), or internally applied, such as straining during defecation, lifting heavy objects etc... Since the bulging portion of the vein is already weak, any such pressure tends to magnify its size and cause further tissue damage.
So, the health of these veins, at the cellular level is a critical aspect to their recovery and repair. The first thing you need to do is to provide the best environment for them to recover. This means, stopping any activity that causes undue pressure, including any issues of constipation or diarrhea.
You can provide therapeutic benefits such as the administration of sitz baths (designed to provide heat and cold therapy) as well as the indirect application of ice packs. Heat and cold both, force the body to restrict blood flow to the affected region causing a decrease in blood volume and thus inflammation.
There are also food choices that impact hemorrhoids. Caffeine, for example, is a diuretic, resulting in harder stools and increased constipation, a prime irritant for hemorrhoids. Coffee and alcohol are prime examples. Foods high in fiber are important in establishing regularity and softened stools.
Your bathroom habits, including how you clean yourself are also factors in how you can find relief from the symptoms. Over the counter products will help for symptom relief since they contain both vasoconstrictors designed to reduce inflammation and local anesthetics for pain relief.
The best thing you can do long term is to learn as much as you can about what hemorrhoids are, how and why they form, and what treatment options there are available to you.
I urge you to try what I did it completely took care of mine but it did take some time and diligence!
Check with your doctor first but it worked for me and I am so relieved! I am 50 years old and have had three children and had some hemorrhoids from that and time to time in life but never like what I just experienced this past April when I contracted C-difficile from my ill and dying mother in law. That is a bacterial infection you can get from older patients in hospitals which is how I got it. I had diarrhea so bad from it that it caused me to have a huge hemorrhoid the size of a kidney bean. That terrified me as I had never had one like that before and it was terribly painful and I did not want to have it surgically removed because all I have read about that it how painful it is. And I was embarrassed about it too!
I read up on it, looking at a lot of suggestions how to get rid of it, consulted my doctor and then decided my plan of attack so to speak and I promise you it worked for me but it did take about 3 weeks before I could tell it was working and at least 4 before it was gone. For the initial pain my doctor told me to take 800mg of ib prophin for the swelling and pain every six hours, did that for about a week, wipe with Preparation H wipes then spray with Dermoplast pain relieving antibacterial spray, the spray numbs the area which takes your mind off of it! Did the spray for about a week then I didn't feel like I needed that anymore.
Get a "donut" pillow to sit or lay on at least while you are at home,it really helps! I would have liked to sit on it at work too but was too embarrassed to do that but it helps to lay on it at night so you are not putting pressure on that area while you sleep.
Before bed I inserted one Preperation H suppository so that in the morning when I had a bowel movement it helped not to hurt and in the morning I would drink on glass of water with one tablespoon of stool softener mixed in.I can't remember the name of it but you couldn't taste it so it was real easy to drink my doctor recommended that but if you have IBS you might not need the stool softener check with your doctor. After all of these things that did help,I still had it.
So that is when I panicked and got online to read what others suggested then I bought some Zink Oxide ointment at Walmart for about $5 and alternated with putting that on after every time I went to the bathroom during the day and at night I would do the prepH suppository and also some prep H ointment.
After the first week I did notice it was finally shrinking then by the second week of that I did that it was finally GONE!
I tried store brands of hemorrhoid ointment but I feel the Prep H works best! And I really believe the Zinc Oxide ointment helped a lot,it is normally used for diaper rash and poison ivy.
It was a lot less expensive than some of the other things recommended online. I truly hope this information helps someone!
HI... Your info sounds great, but I have a question.. I have tried Prep H several times and it does help for that time.. But later in the future I get it again.. Once the swelling goes away what have you done to get rid of the the hanging tissue? I will try your recommended Zink Oxide.. THanks!
I don't want to go into too much detail about my problem, but it happened overseas. I used ice to bring down the swelling and wiped with aloe vera and witch hazel. Also fixed up my diet and a few other things. I don't like the idea of surgery. Looks like some are willing to go down that track. Not me. I finally got rid of mine. There was a blog (I can't remember it now) that put me onto: Don't Panic They're Just Hemorrhoids. Pretty cheap if anyone wants to check it out. Hope it helps.
Being a Hemorrhoid suffer myself i was lucky enough to be able to avoid surgery.
The alternative methods were amazing. soothed the pain an itching within hours and my hemorrhoids were gone in about 1 and a half weeks. Oh and the best part was avoiding the surgery which i dreaded. So check it out and i really do hope it helps. Cheers :)
Hi, I am not sure if this will help you. I am hemorrhoid sufferer myself too and I have done surgery before to get rid of my external hemorrhoids but the problem is my hemroids come back again :( and I didn't want to go through the same agony of surgery. Till I found and used an effective natural solution from a website that I chanced upon one day looking for an alternative to surgery.
Hi there, my younger sister had external hemorrhoids and I can empathize with you how you feel as my sister confided in me how agonizing and discomforting she felt back then. She chanced upon the below site through a facebook link and shared with me this page link that is filled with alot of beneficial information relating to hemorrhoids and the various proven remedies it listed.
Personally I do not have any hemorrhoids now and I hope not.
Hope this helps people who are suffering from hemorrhoids.
Hemorroids are large swollen veins in the anus, the types of hemorrhoids can be internal hemorrhoids which are small and found within the anal canal and External hemorrhoids get irritated and clot leading to thrombosed hemorrhoids the common symptoms for hemorrhoids are bleeding, pain during bowel movement and itching which are caused by too uch pressure on the anal vains, diarrhea and constipation also pregnant women.
When people say to someone that they are a pain in the ass, I believe that they are referring to this condition. There are varying degrees for them, especially the internal kind. There are three areas, both internal and external where they form, do most likely you have an internal one that has also merged or developed an external one as well. Here's the issue, they are troublesome and do come back from time to time depending on your lifestyle, diet and activity.
I HATE seeing blood when I wipe after a bowel movement, and the ironic thing is that it is because of the hems that I fear. I do not consider worse conditions. I dislike the inconvenience of them which they are. It is almost like a wound that never truly heals and is prone to re-injury from time to time.
What to do about them? It depends on how bad they are and how bad they disrupt your quality of life. That is what we are all striving for isn't it? A better quality of life free from hassle and inconvenience?
The one true-sure way to no longer have issues is to have them removed. However, the irony is that WE ALL have them because they are a part of our anatomy and our function when defecating. The veins, in their healthy state, swell and provide a cushion to the intestines as the fecal matter exits our bodies. It is when, through diet or other factors such as diarrhea and constipation, that the veins can become irritated and weakened resulting in them becoming engorged with blood. While this is more of a natural healing method of the body, because of our fascination with butt problems and making jokes about them, we develop a phobic and anxiety ridden issue with natural things. If your nose bled because of a build up of something, you think nothing of it, when it is in a rectal area, you freak out. I do too. I hate it and it has created a mess in my life.
Surgery is the sure way to rid yourself of these issues. But, you are also taking away that cushioning designed by nature to allow the fecal matter to exit the body without resistance. Because of constipation, dehydration and diet, often times the fecal matter is too dry, compact and rough to be passed without issue and the rubbing, pulling and grabbing of the intestinal tissue causes the veins to weaken. The Western Diet is horrible and I am a victim of it as well. If you do not want to have issues, and you do not want to go through surgery, you need change your dietary lifestyle.
This mean. NO caffeine in the form of soft drinks and sugar, and no more than one cup a day. Plenty of soluble fiber. Insoluble fiber is good but not in a large quantity because it does not absorb water. Soluble fiber takes on water and the water remains in the fiber making is softer but still firmer. When you take on fiber, take in in a ratio you find that works for your body and not all at once. An overload of fiber can create aggressive rubbing of the body. Drink plenty of water. Avoid alcohol. If you do drink alcohol, have one glass followed by a glass of water in the same amount. 12 oz. of alcohol, drink 12 oz. of water afterwards before the next alcoholic drink.
Eliminate stress from you life. Easier said than done, but stress can cause the sphincter muscles to remain tight causing a smaller hole for the fecal matter to exit because of the tension.
Do not sit for prolonged periods of time.
This conditions is horrible. The bad thing is that we live in an environment where it is difficult to follow many of the needs to eliminate the issues. Otherwise, we wouldn't have them. Pressure from family, society, work, etc, causes much of the things that cause us the issues that create the hems.
If you’re taking a sitz bath in the bathtub, the first step is to clean the tub. Mix two tablespoons of bleach with a half-gallon of water. Scrub the bathtub and rinse thoroughly.
Next, fill the tub with three to four inches of water. The water should be warm, but not hot enough to cause burns or discomfort. You can test the temperature of the water by placing a drop or two on your wrist. When you have found a comfortable temperature, add any substances your doctor recommended for the bath.
Now, step into the tub and soak your perineum for 15 to 20 minutes. Bend your knees or, if possible, dangle your legs over the sides of the tub to keep them out of the water altogether.
When you get out of the bathtub, gently pat yourself dry with a clean cotton towel. Don’t rub or scrub the perineum, as this may cause pain and irritation.
I understand, Hemorrhoids can be real pain in anyone's life. I suffered from it during my first pregnancy.
It isn't like you can't do anything about it. Am sure it's embarrassing to talk about, but you should not be. Many people have it or had it.
I know few creams for Hemorrhoids that can really be effective.
Here are 10 effective creams you can try.
I can only speak for internal hemorrhoids, but after trying several different things I finally landed on this website hemorrhoids-home-remedy dot com and tried the homemade coconut oil + garlic suppositories described there and finally got rid of my hemorrhoids. I suggest you give this a shot.
I was just looking to see if juice fasting has helped people with their hemorrhoids because my Mom has them and I ran across all these people trying to cure their hemorrhoids trying all these crazy things. I did a 10 day water fast 9 months ago and haven't had them since. My Mom has cancer so that's why she can't do a water fast. I just thought I'd let y'all know. And just so you know, water fasting isn't as hard as some people make it sound. Good luck, take care. :)
I'm new here and am just scrounging around to see what other hemorrhoids sufferers have tried. I don't think mine are severe, slight bleeding and pain when I am constipated, but I don't have any symptoms outside of when I have a BM. I probably should make an effort to not "hold it in" and just go ... :( I am curious to know what sort of natural remedies people have tried, I feel like it is a lot about your diet. Has no one else tried a juice fasting/detox? I've also heard about other natural solutions including this one at http://www.goodbyehemorrhoids.net
and wondered if anyone has actually tried this too, and if it really IS a natural alternative to over the counter medicines.
Hello, I just wanted to share that someone I met in the circle of health conscious people around me, cured herself from cancer by doing precisely a water fast for 30 days.
How can a cancer survive in that condition?
Most of the cancer patients seem to heal with chemo and then sooner or later at the most 5 years later the person dies.
The difference between life and death is not the convensional treatment but all the other conditions of the individual including her vitality and her desire to live.
I am new to forum, i came across this site for curing my hemorrhoids. I followed jane's suggestion on buying h mircale, but its just an ebook. So i made lot searches for exact solution, and finally ended with hem-clear, which is a hemorrhoids treatment supplement. I heard a lot of reviews for it and so i decided to give a try to it. And now i must say, i have almost healed my hemorrhoids as it worked very well. I have got one external hemorrhoid and after using hem-clear which i actually got from http://www.ridpiles.com
website. I see it has highest reviews and success rate i tried. I am sharing this because, may be it will be helpful for people who are suffering for hemorrhoids.
I have diagnosed myself with external hemorrhoids, I have had them/it for about 3 or more months now and for the past month and a half have tried to "cure" it. I have changed my diet from healthy to Extra Extra healthy by increasing my fibre intake, eating more veggies/fruit, drinking plenty of water and trying not to eat too much animal fat or meat, I am taking 40ml of aloe vera juice a day which helps with the intense discomfort of the hemorrhoids to an extent. But there is still some sort of pain which distracts me while I am trying to concentrate on something thing else. Overall I can't enjoy my life, I cant enjoy going to the gym and can't do squats anymore because it puts the pressure on the hemorrhoids and they just fill with blood. I am sick of it and want a real solution, I want to get rid of it permanently but without surgery. I am only 18 and dont want to live in pain while others my age are having fun. Please if anyone can genuinely help I am forever greatful.
Rubber band ligation maybe? It works effectively on protruding internal hemorrhoids. A rubber band is placed around the base of the hemorrhoid inside the rectum cutting off its blood supply. The hemorrhoid withers away and it falls off with the band within a few days. The wound usually heals in a week or two. This treatment can produce mild discomfort and bleeding. See your doctor about this hemorrhoids treatment.
An injection can also be used on bleeding hemorrhoids. A chemical solution is injected into the blood vessel to shrivel up the hemorrhoid. Obviously, you will have to see your doctor about this hemorrhoids treatment as well.
Haemorrhoids are protruding blood vessels in the rectum which are very prone to friction. They can cause bleeding while passing stool, pain while passing stool, pain which can remain for hours after passing stool, difficulty in passing stool, itching and irritation over the prolapsed haemorrhoids etc. Homoeopathic system of Medicine has good remedies like Nux vom, Sulph, Hamamellis, Millefoliumm, Aesculus, Collinsonia etc. to relieve the passive congestion in the haemorrhoids and prevent the need for surgery. Also the necessary changes in life style and diet as you are doing will be good enough to see that this problem does not recur for you.
First of all, you are not alone! and we who know the pain and annoyance of hemorrhoids greatly empathize with you. You have received some good responses to your post. I would add...see a physician, preferably a proctologist, who is familiar with colon/rectal problems. There are many treatments to provide long term relief, but only a physician can
diagnose exactly what procedure is right for you. For example, in addition to having had hemorrhoids, I have an anal fissure which can cause bleeding. I never would have known this had I not been examined. In the mean time, you can get some relief on your own without a prescription with sitz baths...simply sitting in warm to hot water for 20 - 30 minutes. A sitz bath kit can be purchased at most drug stores. This procedure cleansing, as well as soothing for any pains and aches. It's easy, kind to your external body and it can't hurt, as far as I know...and, I've been taking sitz baths since the '70's. You don't have to suffer...I wish you well and the best of luck in your search for relief. (If you would like to e-mail me, I will ask my doctor for the names of doctors near you...;)
There is a product called pilex from India. I purchase a bottle for $12.00 for 100 pills and they worked for me. I can't think of the wed site, but if you will email me I will find it for you. Also you may want to purchase a bottle of rutin (500mg). You can get the at GNC. I take 2 per day. Hope this helps..
After regularly reading the CureZone Forums to cure my body odor, without success, I have decided to post my own situation, and see if someone can help me as this has taken a toll on my life.
In summary, I had diarrhoea for about 1 week a few months back. Ever since I have been smelling of faeces.
Burning sensation after sitting for long periods
The smell would get worse near the end of the day, especially after sitting for long periods of time
I know that the smell is obvious as others reactions prove it.
I have not changed my diet. I did have hemorrhoids on occasions since last few months
I have tried the following remedies :
Chlorophyll (didnt work)
Apple Cider Vinegar (didnt work)
Antibiotics (I actually thought it was resolved after taking 4 days of antibiotics, but after coming off it after 4 days, it came back)
Colostrum (didnt work)
Also trying Activated Charcoal this week, but have not noticed significant change yet.
I feel secluded from all social situations as a result of this. Want to go to the doctor regarding this issue, but cannot afford it and also embarrassed, and do not know which doctor/clinic to visit about this issue.
The burning sensation is from the anus. It becomes more intense after a few hours of sitting. It sometimes smells of 'sick/vomit' (much less often) but mostly faecal smell.
I am really unsure what it could be - when checking symptoms of anal fissure, it says bleeding, itching and malodorous discharge. There is no bleeding present. I do not know if there is any discharge present as when I wipe to check there doesn't seem to be anything and underwear is clean.
The faecal smell is less often, but this is due to not being at work this week (and sitting down for long periods) However, whilst on vacation, in instances of stress and anxiety, I would emit a 'vomit' like smell kind of like sour milk. I do not know if this is linked to the faecal smell. It is particularly strong at times where I feel stressed, hot etc
I also noticed spots around my back and a few on my legs around the time this faecal smell started - could this be linked?
I also notice that my bum feels sweaty/wet, but when I checked, have not noticed anything wet
My mum has a tear in her bowel and it causes absolute agony to her, at times she said she could not carry on with it. A tear in the bowel can make a man crawl on his hands and knees into the doctors office, the pain is intensely agonising at times. A terrible painful condition that causes a pain to shoot through your annus, that makes you want to cry out in agony.
Botox can be injected into the area when the tear refuses to heal with creams or surgery.
My mum has prescribed ointment on the NHS that costs over 100 pounds a tube, she saw a specialist privately to get it who wrote to her doctor to get it prescribed on the NHS. Botox helps the pain especially when the area goes into spasm.
Thanks for your reply.
Could you explain how it causes the bad odours and sweating?
I am inclined to think it is something with my gut flora as this issue started around the time that I had a bout of diarrhoea. I noticed the smell coming from my skin, particularly chest and anus.
I have also been taking probiotics however it doesnt always work although sometimes I felt it improved it, I was not certain though. After taking antibiotics the vomit smell came back (although the fecal smell went away)
