Night before last after taking magnesium citrate that afternoon (not the question - I know when and how to use it) it was time to go to the bathroom. I tried and could not do anything. It hurt so bad, but nothing would come out. That hadn't happened before. I took stool softeners hoping that would help. In the middle of the night I felt something wet and looked to see that I had "leaked", but I still couldn't have a BM. The next morning was the same thing. Being the bowel-informed people that we are, I was pretty sure I knew what was wrong. I researched and had about 80% of the symptoms of fecal impaction. I was leaking more and hurting more and thought a small bit of Fleet enema might help "soften" the problem. It wouldn't even penetrate the problem. All of the research said the cure was a doctor would "insert a lubed finger in order to remove the. . ." or you could do it at home. One site suggested you do it with a friend in case you passed out from the pain or have the friend do it (I'd die first). For 2 days now I have donned the surgical gloves and excavated. It seems, regardless of the pain and blood, that it will never stop. I'm still leaking, and had my husband go out for Depends. I can only sit on the toilet, and have spent about 20 hours total on it, scraping away due to the hardness. Has anyone else run into an issue like this during a routine cleanse (or any other cleanse)? How did you handle it? Did you find something to soften it, or perhaps find a friend? Ha. I'd like to know some type of solution before I try anything like this again (the regular cleansing or the scraping). It's too much pain to go through. Many thanks.

Well, there's several ways to attack this and get things moving. But we'll all need a bit more information here:
What kind of cleanse are you/were you doing?
Were you clogged before starting the cleanse? Or did the cleanse CAUSE the impaction?
What is "normal" bowel activity for you? daily? weekly?
How much water are you drinking daily? (not fluid intake, WATER intake)
Is this a recurring problem/issue?
Do you have an enema bag/supplies to use?
Are you experiencing nausea or vomiting?
--**--If you're starting to have vomiting, you need to do something to get this impaction out FAST, as the situation is critical. Some would say that when you start vomiting, it's time to abandon the natural/healthy cure and go to the ER. While I would never discourage anyone from seeking emergency medical care if they feel they need it, I feel that when things get critical is when we need to become aggressive with our natural treatments. No one ever died from castor Oil Enema s, herbal laxatives, prune juice, and/or Epsom Salts (within reason), but lots of people die in ER's
My initial advise is to attack this aggressively from "both ends", so to speak...so make sure to consume at least 1/2 gallon of water today (along with a couple of teaspoons of Sea Salt (or Himalayan Salt) to keep your electrolytes up.
Personally, I would take 2 tablespoons of Epsom Salts mixed in 8 ounces of warm water. You should see some activity from that within an hour to an hour and a half. (Fleet enemas and over the counter softeners are virtually useless for serious impactions...as you've found out).
Listen to your body AND your common sense. If you keep flushing it from above and flushing it from below, the impaction doesn't ultimately stand a chance. And I know this sounds remedial, but sometimes the age-old basics are the answer...drink a quart of prune juice...about a cup an hour. Of course, if you have ANY type of herbal laxative that stimulates peristalsis (the squeezing action of the intestines), then take as much of it as you feel safe taking.
And most of all...RELAX RELAX RELAX!! Meditate, take an ES bath, listen to soothing music, calm yourself as much as possible...you CAN AND WILL be back to normal in no time. The more you fret, the tighter your muscles become. (One of my mom's elderly friends that has bowel issues ALL of her life and has/had absolutely no 'natural' knowledge, had a severe impaction and had eliminating NOTHING for two weeks. I assured her over and over and over again that she could release the impaction and cure her life-long problem, and overnited her a bottle of Dr. Schulze s IF#1. She took ONE capsule of IF#1 and completely released the impaction in just a few hours...and there's NO way one little capsule had that kind of impact in just a few hours. She simply stopped worrying about it, and out it came...so NEVER underestimate the power of thought and relaxation!).
Keep us updated, and keep watching for others' advice.
Hi. Thanks for the concern and quick reply. I rarely have BMs on my own ie, unprovoked from another source. Once a week I do magenisum citrate to "flush" things out. I tried a Fleet enema, and you know how narrow the insert is. It was like shooting water on a rock. It would not go in, through, etc, and all the product ran out. I tried to use a Fleet suppository which wouldn't think of going in. It's been three days now but, by the grace of God, but I finished excavating. I almost screamed during times, but I've removed what I think is all of it. I'm still leaking some and still wearing the Depends just in case.
Re: Questions. I do that type of cleanse on a weekly basis and have never had this problem. I am a vegetarian and eat well; I'm also lactose intolerant, so that cuts out ice cream, cheese, etc. I have had colonics, and the woman actually told me to stop coming due to the fact that she wasn't seeing anything unusual showing up after my gall bladder cleansed and didn't want to upset the levels of my natural bacteria. I thought that was fair of her as she was losing $65 per shot in 2001 dollars. I would try anything, I don't have a problem with that, but the only thing moving this mass was manual. I was afraid if I tried to get it out the other way that I would really cause a problem. All I drink is bottled water (2 liters/day) and Gatorade (about the same). How long have I had a constipation problem: when I was 3 weeks old my mother called the doctor to say that her baby wasn't "going". I drank prune juice mixed with my formula until I was off the bottle. 34 years later her baby still isn't going. I do Pilates and walk about 4 miles/day on a treadmill so it isn't that I'm sedentary.
Again, thank you so much. Love from North Carolina and God Bless America.

Hello Intuition, I have suffered from the same thing you did right up to the excavating. I did not have the leakage problem though. I now think people like us have more than one issue to deal with in getting better colon health. Probably the first is hydration, although you sound like you are working on that. However, you might want to consider switching from the sweet and chemical laden Gatorade to a more natural electrolyte drink. Simply mix 3/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon or lemon and lime juice. 1/4-1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt and 1/2/cup sweetener (I use evaporated organic cane juice rich is rich in minerals) and about 1/2 gallon pure water. Drink this throughout the day. Once hydration is optimal then do a flush with a magnesium based laxative like your mag. citrate. When you are finished with that eat some raw or frozen corn, swallow some whole if you can. See how long it takes that corn to come out. This will help determine your transit time. If it takes more than 24 hours (at the very most) you need to consider using a Bowel Cleanse that contains an herbal stimulant laxative like Senna or Cascara Sagrada. My peristalsis had all but stopped (due to nerve inflammation according to my Naturopath) I am now ding the Dr. SchulzeColon Cleanse with Intestinal Formulas #1&2. I have struggled with that, but after a week and a half the IF#1 is finally working. If all continues to go well I will begin IF#2 at the end of the week. Hopefully this will help stimulate and tone your colon to work better without it becoming dependent on the herbs. IF#1 also contains cleansing and lubricating herbs so it is not as harsh a straight Senna or Cascara capsule. When you are through with this portion of the cleanse you might want to consider a good probiotic to replace/grow healthy bacteria. I already have some Primal Defense to use, but you can use yogurt or Keifer if the other is too expensive. If have found that in serious cases colon cleansing is not quick, easy or inexpensive. But, since so much of our health revolves around a healthy colon, it is well worth the effort.
Run through Unyquity's posts here, she has given some excellent advice on colon cleansing plus some valuable links to other Websites. Good Luck, remember you are not the only one struggling. Hopefully we can help and support each other.

Yes, any sweetener will do, but the healthier the better. Some form of simple Sugar is necessary for the body to absorb electrolytes from the lemon juice and Sea Salt . I am getting ready to fix some of the drink myself. I did a New Year's Liver Flush then spent yesterday with friends. I did not get enough to drink and am paying for it today with increased pain.
YOu said you just started the DR Schulze cleans, are you eating food with it? Was wondering as my Hubby wants to do it also but does need to eat some food as he has a hard job and needs food to get throgh the day. Tahnks

Yes, you may certainly eat when doing a Schulze bowel cleanse. Of course, (it just makes sense) that anytime you can burden the body and digestive tract with less food for processing, the more energy it will have for cleansing itself.
Also, make SURE the recommended quantity of pure water is consumed when doing ANY cleanse (especially the IF#2 portion of the Schulze cleanse).

I am looking into a caster Oil Enema . Upon reading another website (www.puristat.com/constipation/castoroil.aspx) it states that one should not do a castor Oil Enema if you suffer from "intestinal blockage....". Which is diametrically opposed to your advice?
I have a serious constipation problem. I have already tried a melon enema, which only cleared me up a little bit.
Senna tea addictive? How to restore peristalsis...
I noticed on another post that someone mentioned a concern about the Kleritea in the Colonix program being addictive/ causing laxative dependence in a first time cleanser.
Any other concerns about this? Anyone's other experiences on this and what did you do to restore peristalsis afterwards?
I am currently on the Colonix program now and just wondered if this is something I should be worried about.

How long have you been on Colonix? Try not to go on for entire 3 months of cleanse with Senna tea. Aim for prevention then cure. There's no proven way to regain peristalsis, some folks use Triphala, others use mixes of Cascara.

Hmmm, methinks the term "addicting" needs to be seriously re-examined.
Yes, some herbal products induce peristalsis to an intestinal tract that is not "peristalsising" correctly. When one takes the product, they "go"...when discontinues them, they "stop going"...this does NOT mean they are addicting! When someone is paralyzed or in a coma, they hook that person up to a machine for regular exercise (or a physical therapist moves their muscles) for them. When the machine/therapist is gone, the muscles stop moving...this doesn't make them addicting!
Anytime anyone gets their bowel cleaned of putrefying junk, blockages and build-up, it's a great thing...no matter HOW they get it out!! (within reason, of course). Drinking a 12-pack of caffeinated soda-pop or a pot of coffee daily will cause at least one bowel movement daily (for most folks)...but obviously, that's not a "cure", it's only a symptom remover. What we're looking for optimally, is a cure.
And one can use 'natural products' to achieve regular bowel movements, too (just like coffee or pop)...but regular & healthy bowel movements aren't achieved by using a "product", it's ultimately achieved by cleaning out the rubbery build-up AND strengthening the musclature of the intestines AND eating & exercising in a healthy manner.
Senna, Cascara & similar herbs increase the peristalic action of the intestines; they cause the muscles to squeeze, thus removing fecal matter AND strengthening the musculature of the intestines. Magnesium based products flood the intestine with water, causing the bowels to flush, without squeezing & exercise. Take EITHER product continually, without changing the diet and exercising...and when you stop using it, the colon will not respond to food & elimination in the optimum manner. BUT if one uses the "squeezer herbs", at least the colon will have used is muscles everyday. Granted, the reason they got exercised and 'squeezed' is due to the herb causing it to happen...and one has to deal the results of that ultimately.
But when using the magnesium based products, the colon gets NO exercise at all.
Imagine someone in a coma...the physical therapist manually moves their muscles daily (or hooks them up to a machine that does it)...to keep the muscles from wasting & atrophying. That's what the senna/cascara herbs do. They cause the squeezing to happen, whether or not the colon is doing the squeezing or not.
This is one of the reasons that it makes sense to me, that Dr. Schulze s Bowel Cleanse is in two steps. The first, get the bowel movements going via the "herbal therapist" (IF#1), get that colon squeezing and exercising daily. THEN, add the deep cleanser...with psyllium for roughage/fiber, apple pectin to both draw the fecal matter from the lining of the colon AND to keep things 'solid' (pectin helps prevent loose stools& diarrhea, it's great for IBS), and the bentonite/charcoal for detoxing accumulated poisons & buildup so it doesn't reenter the bloodstream (the Bentonite also provides bulk). Now, the colon is gonna have to squeeze even more/harder to eliminate this. Some folks still need IF#1 to help them continue 'squeezing' through this stage (I didn't), but the end result will be that the colon is much cleaner, less swollen & engorged (thereby more ABLE to squeeze) and then one is well on their way to optimum colon health.
The most important thing here? It took Dr. Schulze himself TWO YEARS to retrain his colon to produce bowel movements several times daily...and that was with a virtually perfect diet AND exercise (he has three different black belts in martial arts). However, it takes some of us much less time, as Schulze had only 1 bowel movement weekly when he started.
After a lifetime/decades of a muscle being out of shape, one cannot expect it to be an "optimum squeezer" after a few weeks of ANY type of product (especially when that muscle can't be exercised 'manually'). The only kind of exercise we can get to it, is the exercise an "herbal therapist" can provide. So folks take an "herbal therapist" for a couple of weeks or a couple of months, stop taking it, and complain that their bowels won't work without it. Go figger, eh? Was the product "addicting"? Heck no! Did the product make them dependent upon it? ONLY if the product/procedure allowed the bowels to move WITHOUT squeezing or exercising, further weakening an already weak muscle.
Enemas & colonics? ...sigh, both move the bowels and cause elimination without causing much peristalsis. However, getting the build-up OUT is necessary for a muscle to be able to squeeze and constrict. If it's stretched out around a tube of rubbery junk, it's going to be very difficult for it to squeeze itself...so enemas,
colonics, AND magnesium based products can ALL beneficial to a point (assuming that the magnesium based product actually affects the build-up/rubbery lining, and not just the normal fecal matter...I have yet to see evidence that they do that).
Well, that's my thinking for everyone's consideration...I'm off to work!

That is interesting question. I have not read an answer to that. Everything seems to have so its pros and cons. The triphala I have never read anything bad about, but I don't know what it does as a cleanser, you should be able to google it, I would think.
I personnally use Oxypowder and page 109 has 3 threads about people giving their views what they like and don't like as far as different cleanses go.
I asked Andreas a question about it, and here is his answer. http://www.curezone.com/forums/m.asp?f=329&i=11377
I had another link from views for the last 3 years from different people but I can't find it . I went through all the old messages, but by now I have so many notes that I don't know where it is.
It would be nice to have an answer if you can indeed restore peristalsis if it is completely lost. If I have a chance I will try to put it on Andreas forum.
I also wonder if MH has an answer, his LBB herbs you kind of have to use all the time, but he calls it a food. He does not have senna in his product, as far as I remember but he does use cascara sagrada.

Let me put another word for addiction... "dependency". Many of the Senna- Cascara based products do advise against being taken for over 7 days since they are "habit-forming" meaning they'll make your colon dependent upon it to work (a.k.a. squeeze), so much for the increase in musculature.
Another thing which all of us would note...when we keep taking these herbal stimulants, we have to increase the dosage over regular periods of time, which again indicates direction our colon & peristalsis is going.
Nonius, ... ... I agree with you...up to a certain point. Natural & herbal products can be harmf...
I agree with you...up to a certain point. Natural & herbal products can be harmful. But sadly, one of the major reasons for 'cautions' on bottles of herbs, is not really due to a danger with the product, it's due to the very realistic fear that producers have of being threatened or shut-down by the FDA. And of course, the warnings are aimed at people that attempt to subsitute herbs for medicine...without doing anything to actually cure the situation or symptom they have.
Case in point: Cayenne pepper. Virtually any bottle of even the weakest blend of Cayenne pepper is usually riddled with warnings. But the truth is, the strongest, hottest of Cayenne has NEVER been shown to harm bodily tissue, in any way...and it's probably THE greatest healing herb on the planet. (the only real warning needed, is that it shouldn't be taken when encapsulated).
Schulze's IF#1 contains both Senna & Cascara, and tens of thousands of people that have used it for decades, and realized a complete cure and return of bowel function. (that is, IF used according to his instructions, which are use it until you obtain 2-3 bowel movements daily, then use IF#2 along with it, then repeat the cleansing until you've achieved optimum bowel function).
Again, I must stress, it took Dr. Schulze TWO YEARS to achieve optimum bowel function. A colon that's been lazy and underworked for decades is NOT going to be strong in a few weeks or months of using product. It takes continuous exercise of a very difficult to exercise muscle to achieve permanent peristalsis...ALONG with change of diet and lifestyle.
I have yet to hear of ANY testimony of someone utilizing Dr. Schulze s Intestinal Formulas according to his instructions, that have not achieved optimum bowel health.
So until I do, I'm sticking with a healer that has saved tens of thousands of lives AND a time-proven product that works (that is based on Dr. Christopher's formula, that has also been time-proven)....no matter what 'fearful' warning labels ANYONE puts on any product. You see, I don't trust the FDA's or the AMA's 'labels', and I certainly don't trust the labels of a major herbal pharmaceutical company that sells products, directly competing with other's that contain senna/cascara...especially when that herbal pharmaceutical company has ZERO clinical experience.

I know this thread is very old, but did you ever figure out what it was. I suspected I had pinworms, so I drank some pyrantel, ate a clove of garlic, and fasted for a day. After 24 hours, what came out was identical to your picture and description. I don't think it's completely cleansed, however. Knowing exactly what it is would help. Let me know if you ever sorted it out! Thanks :)
(Above is Candida I've gotten out after enemas, Nystatin then coffee)
I've been battling "the beast" for at least 8 years. Probably longer, I just didn't know what it was at first.
I have been as sick as a person can be, without being dead. About 4 years ago, I had reached a better place, but stress and going off the diet by eating bread/pizza/chocolate...it started back even more stealthy and strong. This stuff is amazingly resilient and life altering.
First and foremost I have to say the only thing that got me to a livable place was cutting out sugars and flours AND Nystatin enemas. (Thank You Jorge, so much)
Other things that I've tried and recommend are: Black-Walnut hulls
A digestive enzyme complex at meals
Slippery Elm/Marshmallow Root/Collagen/Gelatin for leaky gut.
Olive Leaf-Lactoferrin-Colostrum-Pau d' Arco-Monolaurin (rotated)
Swiss Kriss for constipation, you may have to take more than label says to get things moving.
I've tried other things like GSE, Oregano, ACV, Coconut oil, Threelac, and Iodine. I don't recommend these, solved nothing.
I tried fecal transplants 3 X. Although it helped temporarily, it did not touch the already existing Candida in my colon.
*Start with ENEMAS! Nystatin and also coffee enemas. TWICE A DAY. (Important)*
Start homemade kefir if you can. Buy starter on Amazon.
DIET IS ALSO MANDATORY. No sugar, breads, pastas, etc.
I'm not cured yet. (Are we ever, I'm not so sure) But I'm living again. It's a wonderful start.
I do feel certain this is the fungal form of Candida. I pass different forms and biofilms, and yes probably a parasite mixed in. Not sure when it stops or ever does. Just getting it to a manageable level has been key to my bounce this time. But cured....as in eating anything, nope.

Saccharomyces Boulardi can actually make some people incredibly ill, life threatening ill, if you have a strong immune system then you may be o.k. However, in some people S B can have and has had devastating results, so devastating that it can leave you fighting for your life.
There is always going to be someone who S B does not suit, there will be some it does make a huge difference and in some people it may not make any difference but you should check out all the information and see a doctor before embarking on it. If you have a person with autism do not give it without seeking professional advise first. If you have had a bad reaction to probiotics that have effected your immune system I would certainly see a doctor first, S B can be dangerous in some people with problems.
I am giving the worse case scenario as it has helped people on curezone. use your initiative.
I am so glad my contribution to this forum still be helping people. Consider NAC and EDTA for biofilms formation and MCT oil that is more effective than Coconut oil killing candida. Butyrate may help too.

I feel like Curezone Royalty has just popped in to say hello, you have been very missed but your contribution to the forums has helped many, it is great to hear from you. Your name pops up many times, you have provided a huge wealth of information to Curezone. You certainly gave me a lot of great information in my most awful hour of need treating my son. You are a legend of Curezone, I wish you would pop in more often and say hello.

I am also doing much better. Last year I had reached a point where I was so sick I thought it couldn't be candida...I thought it had to be some other life-threatening disease (like cancer)...I literally couldn't DO ANYTHING. Like you, I owe so much to Dvjorge. Dvjorge, if you read this, please know that there are a great many people here who hold you in the highest esteem and have been waiting a long time for the opportunity to thank you for the the many hundreds of hours of research you have done and the kindness you have shown in sharing it. I am not cured yet, but I am able to carry on with my day to day life and am beginning to enjoy things again. Nystatin enemas have been BRILLIANT! I thought I was almost better, but then two weeks ago I introduced monolaurin and the die off was (and is) so bad, I realize that I still have a lot of work to do. Mandalaide, if you have a minute I would really appreciate you telling me how long you've been doing the nystatin enemas and how long you think you'll need to continue. And again, Dvjorge...you need to understand that your incredible generosity in sharing your knowledge continues to be appreciated by many more people than you will ever know!!! Thank you.
I have been doing the enemas consistently for about 2 1/2 months and I don't know when to stop completely because I do still see Candida. I feel like there is a missing piece of the puzzle that I haven't found. I'm not 100% at all. Just functioning at a better level. (With diet and enemas) I didn't put the red "success" tag in my post, I think the moderator did. I'd caution anyone reading that I'm not "well" like I was before all this started. So much better but I can't eat Sugar at all.
