First, let me say that I read long and hard to verify that it was safe to put liquid coconut oil in your eyes. I finally found a doctor from Barbados who said that people in the caribbean use it all the time to soothe irritated, dry eyes.
I have pinworms that have gotten into my sinuses and into my eyes. I took a round of Humaworm, but as soon as I stopped, they came back with a vengeance. I found an ayurvedic eyewash recipe with garlic, but it caused pain in my eyes after only two days, so I stopped using this.
Someone suggested coconut oil. I thought they were crazy! Why would I put coconut oil in my eyes? Then someone asked "Why would you put animal fat into your eyes? I never have, I replied. Yes, you have, every time you put eyedrops with glycerin into your eyes. Glycerin is a byproduct of processing animal fat for soap.
Made sense to me, and the more I read, the more sense it made. VCO is natural, it's antibiotic and antifungal, it kills worms, and if it is safe to put in your eyes, it may just be the cure.
So I did it. I started putting two drop of coconut oil into my eyes at night, and today, I woke up with "sleep" in the corners of both eyes...only it wasn't mucus. It was worm larvae. Yes, tiny little hard, clear grains of what looks like sand...pinworm larvae...coming out of my eyes! I have had these same things coming out of my skin when I was taking the Humaworm, and I started collecting them and sent them to a lab, which confirmed they were indeed parasitic worm larvae, although they did not know what kind.
I only use the VCO at night, and only a couple of drops. I write for a living, so using it during the day is out, as it does coat your eyes and make it hard to see.
I've also ordered Dr. Christopher's Eyebright formula and will do eyewashes during the day with that, but I intend to continue to use the VCO at night.
Hi and thanks for your post on my "eye" post on the other forum.
My question is how can you put 2 DROPS of C oil into your eyes when all the coconut products out there are a jar of cream type coconut product - is there a LIQUID organic coconut oil that would enable you to put 2 DROPS into your eyes.
Basically, all I see is a jar of cream everwhere - no oil per se so, what is the company that you use ?
To melt the coconut oil, run some hot water from the tap, and put it into a wide, shallow container (I use a small bowl). Put the coconut oil into a smaller container, and put it into the warm water to melt it. Make sure the coconut oil has cooled completely, but is still liquid, before using it. DO NOT HEAT COCONUT OIL IN THE MICROWAVE! Microwaves change the structure of what you heat in them, and they kill the lauric acid that makes the VCO work.
I think organic virgin coconut oil is a great way to kill eye parasites please be sure that the coconut oil is made from fresh coconuts,
NOT from dried coconuts, dried coconuts has mycotoxins which is very toxic, so you do not want mycotoxins in your eyes. I bought a bottle of Organic extra virgin coconut oil the phone number was on the bottle, then I called the company and asked if it was made from fresh coconut oil and they said, YES! Harvestbay is the one I bought, but whichever one you buy please be sure to check this out before using it in your eyes.
Actually, the melting point of coconut oil is so low, it will melt at just below body temperature. Just melt a little and keep it in an empty dropper bottle. I'm a guy, so I keep my bottle in my pocket and it stays liquid, but you could leave it in any warm spot, and it won't congeal. An earlier comment mentioned that it does blur your vision, so only use it before bed. I usually rinse my eyes when I wake, using tepid water.
Coconut oil is liquid. It becomes solid in cool temperatures. Nowadays, you can even buy it in your local supermarket. Many people use it as a healthy cooking oil. Make sure you buy a good brand l
ike Tropical Traditions.
Hi: I tried my drops of organic coconut oil in my eyes last night, as you have done, for the first time - this morning I woke up and my right problem eye looked as if it was now "off-center and to the right" - god that scared me - that eye is already larger than the left (checking thyroid) so I washed and did a Schultz "eyebright" tincture eye wash which I have done many time before - it is great, full of cayenne and other herbs and I think it is good.
Well, I will do my nightly coconut drops for about a week and see if anything results.
What happened with those others who tried the coconut oil in the eyes? Did others experience only positive results also? I have a whole host of odd symptoms since trying the Primal diet last July (huge mistake), and the visual ones are the most annoying and the ones that haven't improved at all. I'm terribly afraid of putting coconut oil in my eyes!
Hi i lathered gobs of coconut oil all over myself last night and in my hair nose and eyes and bottom and genitals too. I wore a one pc zip footed pajamas to bed.
I awoke 2:30am or earlier and had to urinate every 15 minutes or so or 7 times through the night. I looked in my eye- it had gotten a blood clot and scared me so i was up reading more detail about coconut oils active ingredient which is a bit dangerous. Some coconut oil association really needs to state recommended external dosing for safety!
My eye has gotten better as it hurt i think i burned it
Maybe ill try only putting in drops. I was worried i had an occular larva migrans for which there is no cure- maybe im right
In the nose it somehow dried up my mucous and let me breathe freely but then ive needed to reapply because the nose has been drying out.
I have some type of parasite on my arm, other place and in my eye, doctor said fungus but it's not. Creams didn't work, anti parasite all natural didn't work. Had mri's cat scans blood test even a colonoscopy. Nada. Doc looked at me like I wasted time and resourses, said I was a hypercondreact, not sure if I spelled that right. Anyways, I ordered praziquantel off ebay, cheapest place I could find. Well I had a Tapeworm that is nearly gone. Then I went to tractor supply aND picked up apple flavored dewormer for horse. Sores on arms disappeared. Eyes got better. I weigh aprox 170 and I ingested 250 lbs worth, it's a dial on the wormer. Well after a couple weeks they came back. I would recommend to check and read thoroughly on dosages for humans and do regular treatment till you get rid of the problem.
I just started using coconut oil for a 6 month eye infection and found your post. YES, you are right on. I have the same problem, SAND like staff coming out of my eyes, and my eyes are constantly itching. The eye doctor prescribed Cipro drops, Cipro oral, sulfa meds, you name it. I tried Castor oil and it helped, but it is hard to reaply at work. The coconut oil is my total hope. How long does it take to eliminate the larvae/worm from the eyes?
I've never had an eye parasite, but I have had pink eye so that is an infection. Have you considered trying raw honey? It burns a tad but it I used it and the next morning my pink eye was gone. Ancient Egyptians used honey for all types of infections and ailments. The honey will NOT harm you because it is natural. I simply used an eye dropper to administer it. Google if you will for proof but I honestly would not post this if I had not experienced this. About 2-3 drops will suffice maybe 3 or 4 hours in a row the night before. You have to mix the honey with distilled or (bottled) water, let it cool and apply to each eye. 2 teaspoons honey and 4 teaspoons water. Your eyes will tingle and tear up (crying not ripping) but it will help you. Honey is also known to lighten eye color gradually overtime. It is best to use the raw or pure honey with no added Sugar if at all possible. I hope this will help you. There is no need for you to suffer and again this is not something you have to ORDER and pay excessive amounts of money for. You probably already have honey and bottled water. I simply microwaved the water about one minute, mixed in a bowl, let it cool and then applied. Pink eye is not attractive so I was desperate to get rid of it!! Really hope you get better soon. Bless!
Thanks! My mom has Sjorgrens syndrome and very dry eyes. She can't make tears. The prescribed drops aren't helping. I had her try coconut oil and it helps. Should the oil be refrigerated? It's not a huge jar but probably not good to have the whole thing out on her drawing table?
I found during my tuesday classes that coconut oil has nutrients that helps patiens with Alzheimer. I had to create a page to share with all of my friends and family this video.
Patient with Alzheimer can get better if they have a diet in coconut oil. This oil has some ketones that helps the brain absorve the Sugar it needs to function well. We call it diabete of the brain. You need to see this documentary.
Please come to my page and see the video and help me spread the word. thank you Jose
Alzheimer's is one of the diseas that scientists couldn't fully understand yet what causing it. As researchers refer it is dementia that causing health deterioration in the brain. People suffering with Alzheimr's disease pron to lose their memory, dificultu with thinking, problem solving and language.
Offically there is no cure for this disesase yet, but there is hope to prevent Alzheimer's. And true Coconut Oil can prevent Alzheimer's if used regualrly. Coconut oil - "uberfood" can improve immune system and even help to lose weiht if used regularly
Virgin coconut oil is really good for my hair, its make smooth and shiny. I have been using it for about 2 months, and I do need to worry again about the grey.
I like to use virgin coconut oil for cooking as well as it has very low fat.
I'm sorry if this is an oft-repeated question but I was wondering if brushing teeth with coconut oil would give the same results as oil pulling. I have tried oil pulling for several weeks but I swallow some of the oil each time. Because of this, I get a stomach ache everyday and my dark circles have gotten much worse.
I recently found a recipe for a DIY toothpaste online. The main ingredient is CO and the others are baking soda and essential oils. I would like to know if this would be as effective as oil pulling for oral health and gut health.
I bought a jar of Natures Way coconut oil about a month ago and have LOVED it. I love everything it does for me. Last night when I went to put it on my face, the normal sweet coconut smell was mixed with a fishy smell, gross! I wonder if it's something I'm doing. I have two jars, one for ingesting and one for external use. I don't like the idea of dipping my fingers regularly into something I eat so I keep the jars seperate. But maybe dipping my fingers into the external use jar made it go bad??
Does anyone know why a good jar would all the sudden start stinking?
I am going to venture a guess that your
oil has begun going rancid. I have read
a few times online where people put the
oil on their hair and said it had a fishy
smell. They speculated it was a chemical
reaction of some sort. In my own experience,
I have found some oils go rancid much
earlier than they should. Coconut oil has
a good shelf life in a perfect world. I
would also recommend not double dipping
ever. Using a clean spoon will keep any
contamination down. I have found the oils
which work for me but also have tried a
series of others and some I just would not
recommend because of the rancidity problem.
Try a different brand~this should help rule
out your skin reacting to the oil and making
this smell evident. I have not yet tried
Nature's Way myself...
I hear you loud and clear! My solution to the "not dipping fingers in the jar thing" is this: I keep a small jar in the bathroom, dip into it for our fabulous face and body oil, and fill it when it goes empty with fresh coconut oil. This one is for my skin and I dip into it regularly. I keep a shot glass with coconut oil mixed with rosemary oil for my hair also. Dip Dip! The main jar is in the kitchen for ingestion and cooking use.
As a massage therapist, I have used coconut oil for 23 years without a problem......until recently when I introduced it to a spa where i work part time. All was well; all the therapists enjoyed using the oil when suddenly we started to detect a fishy smell. What i began to realize was that while stored in plastic bottles and thrown into a steamy towel warmer, the fishy smell was bad. If heated in a
microwave, no bad smell. So, my thinking is this: Plastic bottles are made of fossil fuels which of course are the fossils of dead creatures, much of which are fish. Steaming or having the oil in plastic or in a steamy room like near a shower, will certainly make the plastic bleed into the oil. Microwaving though not my favorite, is a dry heat thus not making the plastic sweat. I hope this is helpful.
Back in Sept. I had an appendicitis and I was very successfully able to cure myself of it so I did not have to go to the hospital. I wanted to post what I did to get rid of it here so others might be able to do the same. My boyfriend and I spent about 20 hours reading online how to cure this appendicitis because I had just canceled my insurance a few weeks prior and I did not want to have it removed for obvious reasons including past experience with doctors and not trusting the medical system in general.
First, what I believe caused the appendicitis in the first place: I had been eating almost a no fat diet and this is what I believe caused it. I later learned that your appendix is like a little oil can for your colon and if you don't have fat/oil in your diet, it can dry up and get infected. I had also been having problems with constipation on top of not eating fat and so I believe this is what contributed to it because when you get severely constipated, the fecal matter can get backed up into the appendix and cause an infection as well.
The appendicitis was very painful and I felt it coming on for about a week and it got to the point where I had to miss work for several days because I was walking around hunched over it hurt so much. But what I did ended up relieving me of the pain within a few days and it took about 2 weeks for it to completely go away to where I felt pain free. I waited to post until now because I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to come back.
So here's what all I did to get rid of the appendicitis:
First, I stopped eating all food except for what is described below:
1.) Drank lots of water and buttermilk (for the probiotics)
2.) Took lots of chewable vitamin C all day long.
3. Ate 3-6 cloves of raw garlic daily on top of a tablespoon of coconut oil. I ate this garlic/oil concoction twice daily. (Each morning and night I chopped 3 big cloves at a time and let them sit for 7 minutes so the potency could build. I read this was the best way to increase the antibiotic strength of garlic and then I ate it mixed with the oil. I just chewed it up. I believe the garlic and oil are the most important thing in this regime and they are what saved me.)
4.) I also took some garlic tablets that I got at the health food store to make sure I was getting enough of the antibiotics in garlic. I just took these when I remembered them. I wasn't consistent.
5.) I did castor oil packs on my appendix with a heating pad. This helped the pain a lot and I often fell asleep with it on.
6.) I alternated hot and cold water from the shower on the location of the appendix to help it move the infection out. I read this was important to do. I read that you could put an ice pack on the appendix, but this caused a lot more pain, so I stuck with the cool water instead.
7.) I drank strong fenugreek tea that I boiled on the stove 2x per day.
All of these things: garlic, coconut oil, fenugreek tea and buttermilk and castor oil packs are supposed to help cure an appendicitis.
I did this regime for about a week with no food at all except for what is described above. When I started to feel better, I added whole wheat toast to eat the garlic on because eating garlic by itself is not pleasant at all. The buttermilk was fairly filling so I did fine with not eating much on this. I lost about 5 pounds.
I read later that sometimes just eating some oil, like coconut oil, can push the infection out of appendix since the appendix is our little oil can for the colon. I do believe the coconut oil was a big help as well.
After it was all over, I could feel my appendix occasionally and whenever I would eat something fatty, the feeling would go away.
This was a great experience for me because now I know I have the power to cure myself if I do enough research. And I saved myself thousands of dollars by not going to get it removed. I also read somewhere that people that have had their appendixes removed have a higher rate of colon cancer.
I should also mention that I am prone to UTIs and when I felt one coming on a few weeks ago, I ate raw garlic and it was gone by the next day.
Raw garlic is an amazing antibiotic and can be used for any infection. I either eat it on toast with coconut oil, as mentioned above or I pop some popcorn with coconut oil and then melt a little more coconut oil slightly in a pan and put the minced garlic in the oil and pour it over the popcorn. This is a very delicious way to eat it.
What exactly were your symptoms that cause you to conclude you had an inflamed appendix? I'm not saying you didn't, I'm just curious as to what you experienced. I am much impressed with your determination. I also wonder what I would do if me or a family member truly had appendicitis. I am terrified of doctors from some bad experiences; also, I dislike their philosophy: when in doubt, cut it out, no matter what.
Thanks for the question. Yes, it took a while for me to figure out it was an appendicitis. At first I thought it might be an ovarian cyst or something of that nature. But it was in the exact location where the appendix is.
Every time I would research the symptoms I was having, appendicitis was what would come up in the search results. I honestly did not want to believe it was an appendicitis because the idea of that scared the hell out of me. I always heard you needed to have it removed surgically. But the more I read about naturopaths and other people curing themselves of it, the better I felt about trying to cure myself. I just took a gamble and assumed that an appendicitis was most likely what it was based on all the hours of research I had done. I decided if it got really bad I would end up going to the hospital. But I didn't feel it had gotten that bad yet.
I also read that there is a difference between chronic appendicitis and acute. Acute is the one where someone is in such pain that they have to go tot he hospital. I was probably in the chronic stage, slowly moving into the acute stage.
In my experience, this did not come on overnight. It happened within about a week and slowly got worse. You have time to fix it yourself if you don't wait too long. Hope this helps!
Should also mention that my exact symptoms were a radiating pain that came from the location of the the appendix area. It started off dull and slowly became worse over a period of days until the area was very painful. It definitely felt like an infection of the area, if that makes sense.
Should also mention that the castor oil packs really cut down on the pain. They seemed to somehow suck the infection out and reduce what felt like swelling in the area. I read that it wasn't recommended to do a heating pad with the castor oil packs if you have an appendicitis, but I did not take that advice and did the heat because it made it feel better. But as I mentioned, I also alternated hot and cold water a few times a day as well. There is some interesting info out there about Edgar Cayce and castor oil packs with regard to appendicitis.
I am so glad to hear that you cured yourself with natural remedy and not solve things with immediate goal rather than long term goal. Read my experience with my dog which I posted before I read this message. I rub Castor oil on my abdomen everyday.
I wonder if taking Castor Oil orally would have helped. My parents gave us one spoon of Castor oil every month to clean our colon. I hated that as a child because we were not allowed to eat breakfast that day and then frequent pooping followed.
That is wonderful about your dog and the castor oil. My Mother also told me the same thing about castor oil and having to take it as a child. She said they were hesitant to tell their parents they had a stomach ache, because a spoonful of castor oil was always the remedy. :)
I saw a very interesting post awhile back regarding castor oil and a woman flattening her belly with it. Not sure if this would work on every bloated belly, but it was a very interesting post. Here it is:
Thank you for the link. I think I have read that message a very long time ago. I do castor oil rub and gave tried the same method as that poster, Raymond but my belly does not go away. Fasting is the only thing that gets rid if my belly, but when start eating it returns.
you completely forgot about squatting. Appendicitis is a disease of westernized countries, virtually unknown in the developing world. The reason is that the cecum was designed to be squeezed empty by the right thigh, in the squatting position. On a sitting toilet, it is physically impossible to compress the cecum. The back-pressure can also overwhelm the ileocecal valve, whose purpose is to protect the small intestine from fecal contamination. Barium enema exams and intestinal surgeries routinely show the leakage of wastes into the small intestine. Crohn's Disease develops in the area soiled by this toxic backwash.
Despite all the straining, the cecum never gets evacuated. Residual wastes adhere to the colon wall, increasing the risk of cancer and inflammation (including appendicitis.)
that said if you think you had it you might want to follow up with a cat scan to be sure it is gone as my brother just had fever chills pain in right side and have been nauseated when eating some foods saying he had food poisoning several times..i ate this same food and had no such effects..blood in a urine a week ago the color of an orange crayon and then dark tea was what prompted him to go to er.
It turns out had a urinary tract infection that was unrelated but what saved his life as it prompted him to go to ER and someone to insist and made sure he went.
It turned out he had a ruptured appendix for maybe months when he had the symptoms earlier.
I did not even know a person could live with a ruptured appendix not only that he was lifting a very heavy wheelchair in and out of car maybe 35 times a week and lifting very heavy boxes of produce I am using for my cancer.
The dr said he could have died but something you have no pain. There was little infection because the body tries to help you by walling off all infection and inflammation in a huge balls like a tumor
He had a between large grapefruit an small cantaloup size full of infection..the appendix was not sticking out and was wrapped under the colon and dr had to remove not only the large inflamed mass/ball and the appendix but also some of his small intestine and colon.
He had complications and had to be put on a ventilator in a medically induced coma and thankfully came out of it and is being released tomorrow.
Since i need him to be able to lift when recovered as acting as my caretaker, what might help him heal better and eventually be able to life despite them cutting abdominal walls.
any herbs, supplements or foods that could help him heal to be able to lift again one day..I know when I had a vertical c section they cut that muscle an I was never able to lift right again and since he is the only one who can help me, I am very worried...any advice?
he has a terrible diet..I heard him give a shopping ,list to my brother when he thought he would be home that night when they thought it was not ruptured and it was nothing but processed meat, sweets, junk food. in 20 items, he had not one healthy thing on it.
I am hoping to use this as a wake up call to get him eating better.
Anyway, I posted this about getting a cat scan as one does not want to think they are ok when actually have a ruptured appendix and risk dying like him or wind up with parts of your intestines gone.
It was not the symptoms that got him to a hosptial and saved his life but an unrelated severe uti that changed his urine color drastically that was unrelated to the appendicitis
So do natural but consider having it verified so one could actually be walking around like a time bomb ready to die any 2nd and not realize their appendix is not only bad but actually ruptured...Pain will not also warn us.
if you suspect it is that but feel you healed yourself naturally and that nothing is wrong..or that severe symptoms will alert you think again
Better safe than sorry. This incident that just took lace and all the worry and stress he would die put 5 years on me
We all just thought he had a weak system or was nuts as everything made him sick and apparently made food taste bad as he said everything that horrible when it didn't and that was why food made him sick and he was up all night vomiting. We never suspected in a 1000 years it as a ruptured appendix and that one could actually like with this and not die or know 100% I must get to the hosptial.
Maybe MRI can detect this and it is safer than cat scan as no radiation.
And any advice that might help him heal from surgery and be able to lift again please send it my way as having a very hard time gettign to appts and stores etc without him due to inability to get wheelchair in and out of car due to being too heavy. I am not even sure he will be able to push it again.
We are grateful he is alive but I know he needs to eat better..I only hope he will change his dietary ways. The link also talks about prevention.
Hello Heidi89, I just wanted to say thank you for posting your experience with appendicitis. It already helped me twice, 5 months ago when I 1st got appendicitis myself, I read a few articles for self cure but yours was the most easy to fallow and you explain things very well and I was cured in 4 days, on my 5th day I went back to work and like I said this was about 5 months ago but 4 days ago it happen again, I started to have the same symptoms, I couldn't believe it, I felt very dumb for not keeping a more strict and healthy diet after what happened, so I endured another 12 hours of intense pain and vomit ( that felt like Chinese torture) and started the whole regimen again.Right now my appendix finally starts to feel good again, now I'm afraid that this might keep happening again, I read a few sites and they all say that there is no way to prevent it but I think if we do some life changes we might be able to, the reason the appendix gets inflammated is from obstruction that could be mostly caused by: fecaliths (tiny pop rocks), obstruction of undigested seeds or parasites. so I think that by eating healthier, avoiding constipation, adding more fiber, healthy oil or fats as you mention and garlic daily and a squatty potty ( the one with the ice cream unicorn) might help prevent for this problem to occur again. hopefully. and thank's again. You are Awesome!!!
