you are an inspiration! thank you for sharing your experience. it's extremely important to know that it DOES work and there is a light in the end of the tunnel. I am struggling with food allergies myself my whole life. nothing really worked that I tried. I am on GAPS diet for 8 months but see no improvements.
I've been dealing with Blepharitis for quite a few years now (read: feels like forever... ) and I haven't been able to find anything that really helps. For those of you not familiar with Blepharitis it's an eye disease that a lot of people suffer from but are unaware as it's often mistaken as allergies and the likes (think red eyes, irritated eyes, etc.). It's often associated dandruff in your eyelids which leads red, irritated and sore eyes and can also dry your eyes out. I've tried a lot of things to get rid of it as there are no cures. I've tried baby shampoo, prescription shampoo, wet ones, special eye treatments etc. and none of those have worked for longer periods. Recently though I was told about a new product by my sister. So last week I bought a Style'n'Clean pen. It's basically an electric eyelash curler but the difference is that it comes with small sponges you can attach to the the pen and you can then use it to clean your eyes. The pen can rotate and heat up so you can clean your eyes way more effectively than anything I've ever tried. I bought it on sale where it comes with a cleansing gel that is so good for my eyes. I use it every morning and it has really been a life saver. Hope that this can help some of you.
Apart from lack of good sleep and fatigue, there are some other common causes of dark circles under eyes. They include physical causes, genetic causes and aftermath/symptoms of certain medical condition
Other causes of dark circles under eyes are;
Heredity: Dark circles under the eyes may run within the family. That is why it also occurs in children because it can be inherited
Allergies: Nasal allergies can affect the areas under the eyes and make it appear darken.
Excess Sun Exposure: This may cause the skin to produce excess melanin (pigment responsible for skin color)
Iron deficiency causing insufficient oxygen-rich blood from getting to the eyes tissue
Aging : This can result to thinning of the skin, loss of fat and reduced collagen and hence making dark circles under the eyes more obvious.
Rubbing or scratching of the eyes
Atopic Dematitis (Ezcema)
Fluid Retention as a result of weight gain, pregnancy or excess salt intake
Lifestyles such as excessive smoking, drinking and over-stressing
Too much sleep and lack of sleep can both result in dark circles under the eyes

1. supplementing with a very high quality probiotic ( the kind that needs refrigeration) since you were on antibiotics, your gut flora is probably out of balance which has a ripple effect on the entirety of your body and mind.
2. Do you take an omega 3 supplement? If not, you should as your omega 3-6 balance is probably off, I would recommend a dha kind over EPA as dha is better utillized in the body.
3. If your thyroid is out of whack you may be gluten intolerant, try cutting it out of your diet for a month and see if you feel better. Also supplement with iodine, no megadoses though!
Try the things the first person recommended too, but these should address many of the psychological issues... I know from personal experience. Liver flushing/colon cleansing with Bentonite clay re both good ideas.
Also might try a parasite cleanse as I'm not sure of the effectiveness of antibiotics in treating parasites.
