1st let me say to anyone suffering with DM I'm very sorry and my heart and prefers go out to you. I have DM and feel it's as mental as it is physical. I think about it at least 50% of the waking hours. I have had panic attacks and am on anxiety meds because of it. Not sure when I got it I just noticed one day about 2 months ago that my eyelids were crusty. Not anything to write home about just something slightly different I had started to experience. I'm an RN and very observant of any little bump, bruise, or spot on my body. I'm a picker also. I had ance really had in high school for about 3 years and then the pimples cleared up but I had super oily skin until I turned 40 (I'm 41 now) From the very first pimple I got to any spot I thought could be a pimple I would pick at and still do. But when I turned 40 it was an overnight skin change to very dry. I had never used face moisturizer until I turned 40 because it would just make my skin more oily. I also stopped wearing makeup at 35 because I had it tattoo on. I had a couple milla bumps under my eye (they showed very clearly because of the black tattoo liner. So I watch on YouTube how to remove them and did just that to the 3 milla bumps I had. About the same time I started to get the crusty eyelids (nothing on my lashes just to the lid itself) I also noticed some bumps. They weren't white like the milla bumps so I googled images of bumps and crusty eyelids. I saw a few eyes that were similar to mine but nothing stood out until I read an article on DM. I knew immediately that was what I had even though I had no itching, pimples, or dandruff. I just have a fear of bugs (live) and have the type of luck that always sucks. Not to sound like a downer or poor me It's a family joke. If something could go bad it will always happen to me. I started researching DM and it was describing everything I have had or was starting to experience to a T. I want to see my general Doctor Who had not heard of DM and his 45 years of being a physician and told him that I read about watching with baby shampoo and treating with TTO was how you got rid of them. He got on his pocket medical computer and started to read off some more homeopathic remedies because he said that prescribing ivermectin would only further compromise my poor immune system. (I had just received my by by-monthly blood work and my vitamin levels were low and I also had been under extreme stress and I had lost about 30 pounds for some unknown reason Im assume it went along with the stress I've been under) He said I probably acquired the DM because of my poor immune system I have suffered with for the past 8 years. It was the result of a drunk driver auto accident I had leaving me permanently disabled and in chronic pain. He told me to put ABT ointment around my eyes while I slept because it would suffocate the mites and slow down there movement not allowing them to mate on my face. Because my skin is so dry I have been putting a thick layer of vaseline all around my eyebrows island eyelashes under my eyes on my nose my nose and my ears and down my cheeks. I wake up and can see the dead mice within the Vaseline and on my lashes along with little green mucus looking blogs. Which I learned are clusters of dead mice. I sometimes also have to take a Q-tip and clean under my eyelids because I get clusters of the green blobs that are stringing and thick. My rountine is to wipe off the vaseline and with a face wipes that I have put drops of lavender oil and Teatree oil and I wipe my ass that I can visually see coming out my eyelash sparkles pores after the fast lane wiped off. I have to be real quick to remove them or they will bury themselves back within the follicle or poor. This has been extremely helpful for me and the Vaseline around my eyes and on my eyelashes doesn't bother me in the least. I put either 100% straight TTO or lavender oil on my face 2x a day after washing it with baby shampoo. This drys my face out terrible so the Vaseline combats the dryness without providing food for the mites to eat. They love face moisturizer and face oils but Vaseline is too thick and suffocating to there small bodies. I read one reason DM causes acne is because they do not have a full digestive system. I have no anus to expel what they eat. So when they have eaten more than their stomachs hold their stomachs will burst causing them to die and becoming to debris in your pores hence causing a pimple (body's way of expelling the dead mite is to send white cells to fight it because it is seen as a foreign body. The white cells build up until you either break the skin to release them i.e. Popping the pimple or the skin under pressure my split on its own expressing the dead mite and pus/white cells. The body also with time can absorb the pus and dead mite if you just leave it alone. (Being a picker I can not understand how people can leave a pus filled bump alone for the body to absorb) Sorry I've gotten off topic OK as for my head I saturated my scalp with TTO mixed with liquid coconut oil (20% TTO- 80% coconut oil). I then alternate so they don't become immune to one of the oils TTO an lavender oil with regular lotion (I am very generous with the amount of oil I add to my lotion and cover my entire body that doesn't have Vaseline or coconut oil on it including my privates because I read of a person who had them migrate to her privates). I put the lotion on 2x a day after a shower which I use TTO treated shampoo and body wash. I have a spray bottle with alcohol and TTO that I spray the carpet and furniture with. I vacuum daily and change my bed daily. I wash every thing I wear in hot water and dry in hot heat. Sometimes I just throw my jeans in the dryer for 30 mins on high heat without washing them. I spray lice spray and bed bug spray also to the carpet and in my car. I bought bed bug mattresses covers for my pillows and mattress which are plastic and spray them with the lice spray before putting the clean sheets on. I've added several vitamins to my daily routine as well as drink 1teaspoon of baking soda in water. I swallow one clove of garlic like a pill daily as well. This routine takes about 2 hours a day and costs about $40 a week but in 2 month I have them almost totally under control. I don't feel them on my body anymore unless I'm thinking about it which I think that's mental not actual. This routine is working wonderful for me and I hope it can help someone else too because these bugs are horrible. I've had actual nightmares because of them and don't wish them on my worst enemy. Much luck:)
