Flys by MH
Flies are no doubt the greatest flesh eaters on the planet--they can take any dead animal and dispose of it in just a few days……..
Otherwise, the blood sucking disease carriers will bite any human and most mammals as will ticks, mosquitoes etc.
Flies torment cattle…………..the cattle blood suckers "hatch" in the cattle's poop and this would not be a great issue--IF COWS ROAMED FREE, because they hate to eat where they have pooped in the past---so if they walked in 1 direction, by the time the flies hatched, there would be no cow to suck the blood of.
Naturally all cows are penned up to some degree, so all cows, horses, you name it---are tortured by flies.
Commercial sources sale poison products that if you read the label, it says it makes the milk toxic and the animal too toxic to eat for x amount of days………..
A better than normal producer calls them selves flys-X makes an essential oil formula that works very well………you can actually see the flies die on contact…….and best of all, "IF" they would have used human grade essential oils, you probably could get healthier by just breathing in the oder and the cow become healthier by its use.
Naturally they keep the formula diluted to a point of 1% active ingredients…….so lets say for every 100 ounces you using 1 ounce of essential oils and no doubt they buy by the barrel and sub human grade which is much cheaper and always cheap by volume.
If I can make something, I prefer to make stand something as simple as just oregano oil works about the same. BUT when selling products, it is wise to use many products in your list, so it makes the consumer feel like not making their own.
Cows at first don't like you spraying them--but they eventually learn that it feels good and with less flies, their life is better.
When you spray the cow, you can see hundreds of flies on the ground crawling around and if they don;t die, at least maybe the cows will step on allot of them.
The normal stock cow is not that friendly unless you feed him/her, then that is when you spray them………..
I see they use some glycerin in their formula…that would be to make it "thicker" so it sticks to the cow. They even have some soap in the mix.
I have to assume the flies can't tolerate the direct spray on their big eyes and their method of breathing and they choke/panic to death and any way those #### can be killed with out harming the host---go for it.
"IF" all mammals on earth dropped over dead, within a few weeks, flies would swarm the entire planet feeding on the flesh. they would probably block the sunlight they would become so thick.
Horse flies and deer flies are true torment, they will make a full grown moose jump in a lake and stick his nose up to breath and hide his body from the flies…
Humans should not have a fly issue unless they are in a woods where the deer fly finds them and refuses to leave them alone…..there are those no see em type flies that bite you up in Canada that will make anyone have a bad day.
I assume oregano oil diluted 1-100 with olive oil and rubbed on the skin would work just fine or mixed with water and sprayed surely would do no harm…all the other essential oils you just have to use your common sense with.
The cool thing about herbs/essential oils is that spiders tend to leave the buildings and mice don't like them as well.
Mid july is fly month for sure as far as animals go…..so later today I might make my first official batch of essential oils and glycerin, etc. blend and use a few more potent oils than what the commercial product uses and see if I can't turn the tables and make flies scared of me……
Flies seem to not function well at night time and that gives the animals a rest---you can find them at night time near the cows normally hiding so they can avoid the rain--rain and flies don't get alone.
I can only imagine how much blood a cow looses each summer due to flies sucking it out 12 hours a day.
