Hi so I know this is a really old forum but just in case people are looking for answers because I was looking at this forum when I was having the exact same problem. About 3 months in of having the mirena, out of no where I started having really bad neck pain and shoulder pain and then after that just constant headaches and migraines 24/7 for 4 weeks straight. First doctor said it was tension headaches so I tried PT, chiropractor, massages and nothing helped. After the 3rd week I started to think it was the mirena iud so I got it removed. By the 4th week I had so much pressure behind my eyes I couldn't even see straight I was seeing double vision. I ended up having pseudotumor cerebri where so much spinal fluid builds up it puts pressure on your brain and optic nerves causing the headaches, joint pain, and blurry vision. I got a spinal tap and normal spinal fluid pressure is 10-15 and mine was 80. I got all of it removed and I felt instant relief. No more headaches no more neck pain and since I got the mirena removed it has not built back up again since!
I have a feeling that my descending colon is very stiff. What makes me feel this is that when I take an enema or colonic, I can feel stiffness in that area.
I also have a very stiff neck and shoulder on the left side, and the muscles around my left hip are also quite stiff. The muscles in my legs tend to get rather tense if I sit for long, much more on the left than the right. Plus, for the last year and a few months, I have had a stiff and heavy sensation on the left side of my face, mostly on the upper left side, particularly in the left eye.
These symptoms make me feel even more that the descending colon and perhaps the sigmoid colon are at the root of my health issues, partly if not entirely. These symptoms increase after I have eaten.
I've done a week long colosan cleanse and 9 colonics in the last year. Also 10 Liver Flushes and I plan to continue doing those. I have been doing salt water enemas - about once a week or so for the last 2 years, occasionally experimenting with ACV or Oil Enema s, or more occasionally, with some ayurvedic herbal decoction enemas. Have also done about 40 coffee enemas over a period of a couple of months in August-September last year.
I eat an organic diet of cooked vegetables with a small quantity of brown rice, and every other day, I eat a large quantity of fruit. I am mostly but not entirely vegan. I follow some of the Nourishing Traditions guidelines in cooking and some guidelines for the ayurvedic vata dosha.
None of this has made any difference so far. What else can I do to help my colon?
Hello! I am new to this site as far as posting goes, but have been here many times to read about certain things. I was brought to the site years ago concerning iodine supplementation. When I found out about iodine and the rampant deficiency most everyone has, I immediately started taking it. I didn't keep up with it on a regular basis and I am kicking myself now.
When I initially started taking it, I went through a lot of the detox symptoms, and when they got to be too annoying to me, I slowly slacked off (specifically eye floaters and the taste in my mouth.) Now, I am suffering the symptoms of hypotryroidism and it wasn't until last week when I started having difficultly swallowing that I realized my problem - not enough iodine!
I think my body has been telling me for at least six months that something was wrong, but I have been ignoring it thinking it had to be deficiencies in other things. (It very well may be also, I don't doubt that, but I also am a very regular vitamin and mineral taker.) I am very physically active, weightlifting etc, and that was what I was blaming the tiredness on. I've also been experiencing aches and pains (unexplained tennis elbow), spaciness, forgetfulness, moodiness, heavier monthly cycle, and recently I've gained weight, the list goes on. My difficulty swallowing, I couldn't ignore.
So, I have been taking 10 drops a day of a lugols solution for about 6 days now. My dose is at about 62 mg a day. I am doing all the co-supplements which I didn't do as dilligently years back when I was first introduced to iodine. I have the tast in my mouth but taking salt seems to help this. I am breaking out with a few pimples, but that is about it. Yesterday, my neck was very tender and I do feel a lump on both sides where my tyroid is - I have no doubt it is enlarged. I can't see that it looks much different than usual though, and I have had a sore neck here on and off for a little while before I realized my problem, but not this tender.
My energy levels are up some, but my swallowing is still annoying me and I get panicky every now and again. I can take pills fine, I can breath alright, it's just certain foods are hard to go down. Has anyone else been in this situation, and about how long should I expect this to go on before more results are noticed.
I truly believe I am on the right track, and I am so upset with myself cause I knew better to not be taking iodine regularly.
I am taking enzyme tests anemia testing and hormone test to determine the cause of aches and pains in my back and neck and chronic fatigue...cramping....varicose veins...t I have looked it up but I don't understand what impaired microcirculation is?
