I would like to either water-fast or juice-fast as a means to cleanse and lose weight. I know absolutely NOTHING about this practice with the exception that the goal is to start ketosis, breaking the fast with protein is "bad," and breaking the fast must be done a certain way.
First question is: which fasting approach is preferred for cleansing and weight loss, why, and how often?
Second question is: how long does an initial fast run?
Third: when does ketosis typically kick in, and how do I know that it has?
Fourth: how much water/juice should be taken, each cay?
Fifth: how is either fast broken?
I would think if you can do a 2-week water fast, a 3-week urine fast will give no problems. It is best to expend as little energy as possible whilst on the fast, though. The body should get required nutrients from the urine, and from cells that the body will eat. The bad, or damaged cells get eaten first - which is why fasting is so effective.
Fasting cycles (2-4 days) can also be very effective - but maybe with candida it is best to go longer.
Before undergoing a fast click on ĒDescriptionĒ of the forum FIRST. Also, please post only on water-only fasts. Modified Fasts or anything other than this, belongs either in the General Fasting, Fasting Debate, Juice Fasting, or Fasting For Weight loss Forums. Thank you.
