I am new here!!!
So here it is my story:
Exactly one year ago I started having terrible anxiety and crying jags over every little thing. So of coarse I went to the DR and they put me on Anti depressants which made the symptoms worse and then I felt like killing my self and had insominia for the first time ever. So they told me that it would take a week to 10 days for my body to adjust to the meds and put me on Ativan. So then they said I needed a DR for depression who then put me on Xanax Wellbutrin and some time Ativan all in all these are the Meds over 6 weeks Cymbalta, Zoloft, Paxil, Lexapro. After 6 weeks of this I stoped taking the anti-depressants I felt so bad it made me worse, very low energy, terrible IBS, crying and the depression was the worst thing. I spent 2 months in bed I felt like I was dying so this is 5 DRs later I was worse!!! So many DR telling me do this, don't do, that was making me crazy and malnurished, I lost 80 pounds!!!!I went to see my OB/GYN thinking this must be hormonal as I had just turned the big 40. I did some research and it seemed to fit, she put me on bio-identical hormones and within 3 days the depression was gone and has never came back. The low energy and mental confusion stayed and so did the crying. But I am not sad just really amp up emotionally! So 6 more Dr I found a Chiropractor who said I had an atlas subluxation so he used a sound wave to push it back in place the nexted day I had a lot more energy! But over this last year I started hurting all over my body after having the flu that has never went away. My Chiropractor referred me to a Naturalpathic Doctor who for the first time really dug in to past history, current life style and nutrition She ordered test and yeasterday we confirmed Adrenal Fatigue and Hypoglycemia from strees and not taking care nutritionally! The hormones worked so well because it took the stress off the adrenals which make sense to me. WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG TO FIND THIS OUT!!!! This year has been a LIVING HELL!!!!! My ND was in tears when I told her what I had been through! She gave me Pure Adrenal 400 from New Zealand. She said that this is the best one on the market as New Zealand has such a strict guide on how they raise there beef. No import of any kind! and grass fed.
I am so sorry for what you have been through! I can relate on a smaller scale. Went to doc, was given natural estrogen even though my symptoms obviously showed I still have enough. At first I felt really good for the first time in a very, very long time. Then I guess the estrogen built up to an unhealthy level and I became psychotic one morning. Possibly symptoms that manic depressives go through. I stopped and the psychotic episodes didn't return. I stopped going to that doc and started reading everything I could that relates to adrenal fatigue (written only by NDs). I have been using Isocort, a natural bovine source of hydrocortisone. That helps a lot. I still wasn't quite right and I guessed my thyroid has been effected by the long term adrenal insufficiency. I read and re=read the information on the 'interesting website' posted not too long ago on this forum. I have been taking a thyroid glandular every morning. I take my temperature several times a day to make sure the thyroid is getting into my cells. The website goes into further details if you're interested.
If we keep working at getting it right, I think we will feel great most of the time.

I also recommend the book Feeling Fat, Fuzzy or Frazzled? by Dr Richard Shames and Karilee Shames. I have read and re-read this one. They are connected with a http://www.canaryclub.org.
On this site you can order a saliva test for many of your hormones for $141.50. For me, DHEA and testosterone were almost non existent. The doc put me on DHEA, testosterone, progesterone, and estrogen. He doesn't know anything about cortisol I guess and that's what has given me life back. Besides the bad response to the estrogen, the DHEA and pregnenolone helped me mentally, enabling me to continue helping myself through research. I think some doctors only know what the pharmaceutical companies promote to them! I have one patient, whereas that doc had a 100. I won't hesitate to see a ND if I think they can help me more than I can at any given time. Right now with the guidance of the book I mentioned, I am hopeful that I can lead a happy 'normal' life in the near future...I really am getting there. Keep working at it.
Since I see you've been through hell, and I have been sick for many years and been searching on curezone reading so many books and done some of the cleanses a couple of years back and a year ago but a month or two ago I found the Ask Moreless forum and learned so much on all these issues and how to help balance my body out to what it needs and I noticed big improvements in days (not total cure yet mind you)!
You might want to at least check it out, the protocol and testimonies are very interesting.
i have had adrenal fatigue and hypoglycemia for over 2 years. It does not heal over night. You will need to be on your glandulars a long time, most likely forever. I am still struggling. I also have food allergies. many with AF do, you may want to get this tested. I am gluten free, Sugar free, and corn free. poor adrenals can cause alot of allergies. Are you eating the right diet for your low blood sugar? you should be jhaving protein and complex carbs, no simple carbs. Also good fats are important. you amy want to treat for candida too it you are having yeast infections. maybe a thyroid test also. Leslie
I have my thyroid tested regularly my ND checked the # are fine. I am gluten free corn free and wheat free at this point! I take omega pure 600, A multi Vit, Enzymes, Calcium, Magnesium, Adrenal Supp with DHEA, Progestrone cream, and protien drinks, I have to say that the Protein drinks are the thing that help with muscle pain. I have no idea why though I wish I knew! The muscle pain is the hardest to deal with right now! I just need some time without it anyone have any idea why there is muscle pain involved in this!
My hair has started growing back in now! I think that my hormones were all screwed up!!!I just want my life back!!! this has been a year from hell!!!!
I used to have muscle pain too. Especially the trigger points on the hips and shoulders that are compressed when I sleep on my side. Cortef helped a lot.
Something else helped even more that you should add to your regimen: d-ribose. It's a special Sugar molecule that brings energy to all muscles including the heart. It is used by athletes for muscle recovery after workouts and for congestive heart failure. I take a half teaspoon before bed with my melatonin. The d-ribose alleviates my sore neck, shoulders, and hips over night. I also take some right after a hard bike ride and I don't get stiff muscles the next day.
Check your health store. I get New Roots 200gram powder. It ranges from $15 to $20.
Tastes like candy floss and feels cold on the tongue.
I am new to this forum... I have been dealing with adrenal fatigue for as long as I can remember. I am 39 and don't LOOK like I have any health problems, but I am a mess! I can't even count the number of doctors I have seen or the number of tests I have been put through... including a muscle biopsy!! ... which they did find some "abnormal" things, but that's all they could tell me. I am now seeing an ND who is back to telling me that it is adrenal fatigue!! ARRggggg... I KNOW this, but how do I fix it! I have a lot of muscle pain also!! It got so bad that I finally gave in and am taking the drugs to alleviate it... I did the natural thing for 15 yrs. I still do all of it, but added the drugs in. Okay... my point...?? I have never heard anyone else with adrenal fatigue complain of muscle pain... is this a normal symptom? It has been many years since I have researched adrenal fatigue.
I did try the d ribos hoping it would help, but it messed with my hypoglycemia really bad so I didn't try it again.
